We want to thank the staff at Waterside care home for looking after our mum and grandma so well. She was only there for a short time but within the first two weeks, she was off her sleeping medication and sleeping through the night. She played ping pong, sang, knitted, and joined in many activities. Every time we saw her it seemed like she got a bit more of her spark and personality back. The staff made such an effort to find out about her personal story, and what she likes so that they could better interact with her and keep her happy and we could see how comfortable she was with and around the staff. Our mother has advanced dementia, and this time really did lift her wellbeing, her attitude and her energy, and she was even singing songs we have not heard her sing in a very long time. We are eternally grateful for that. We would love to bring her for day visits to join in some activities in the future. Thank you to the manager and the Waterside staff!
From the moment my Mum was placed into the Waterside care home in Peckham, we were so relieved knowing my Mum was safe and happy being cared for 24/7 as my Mum was in a poor state, malnourished and very underweight but within a few weeks Mum has made progress to the point Mum is teaching the staff new songs and telling stories from the old days. The staff make time to listen to Mum and this has helped Mum to become more confident again. Mum is interacting with others and has said how lovely and caring the staff are, we can see a difference in Mum's face already, she is comfortable and we are happy knowing Mum is cared for by the experienced staff. Even when I phone up to see how Mum is, they make time to give me an update. Mum has only been in the care home for 5 weeks but so far it's been a Godsend. Sadly because of covid-19 visiting is hard as only garden visits at the moment but hopefully, the home is trying to sort an indoor space very soon as the weather gets colder but we totally understand. We thank you all.
My mother was cared for by excellent staff who were very kind and helpful. The whole installation was kept very clean and hygienic. I cannot praise the Waterside care home and it's staff enough and would recommend it to anyone.
Nanny moved here at the age of 97, she had been able to live alone prior to this with the support of daily carers popping in and out. However, it came to a point where this vastly independent lady needed more support. Waterside was wonderful in making everything just right for her and making the transition as comfortable as possible. The staff have been great in making sure that she is safe and are very encouraging to get her to engage in communal activities.
The manager does really well for residents she organises lots of events which keeps them active. I would absolutely recommend Waterside Peckham.
Overall, good and happy. Staff are excellent, the care support are excellent and treated with dignity.
Our mother seems settled and happy at Waterside Care Home. She is well looked after and the staff are very kind to both her and family who visit her. The staff have taken the time to get to know our mother and learn about her life before Alzheimer's so that they understand how events from her past affect her present behaviour. Residents are encouraged to spend time together in the communal lounge and we have seen our mother enjoying organised craft sessions and taking part in joint activities, such as doing puzzles, with local school children.
I was treated well and courteously. Residents were encouraged to participate in a variety of activities ranging from quizzes and craft activities to those involving physical exercises appropriate to the capabilities of the residents but with the aim of improving muscular strength. Residents were encouraged to participate in activities involving crafting skills, drawing and creating crafts such as making Christmas decorations.
Also freedom to take him out for a drink. If anything goes missing it is found by the next day. Food good.
Our mother had been housebound for nearly 4 years and for the last 4 months she had been confined to one room. She saw carers 15 minutes morning and evening a few visits from us. She often refused to get into bed spending all night on a very small sofa. After one week at Waterside care home the change in her was unbelievable she was chatting and smiling with the staff making friends, eating three meals a day as opposed to living off cake and biscuits and she slept in a bed! Where we thought she was becoming doubly incontinent she had no accidents. All of the staff are efficient, professional and more importantly caring and friendly. We are all very very grateful.
I have been visiting my elderly father at this home for almost five years. The staff are kind to him at all times and I am always made to feel welcome by them. My father seems happy and enjoys interaction with the staff and some of the residents. His room is always clean and tidy and he is usually clean and tidy too - he has off days! I think the general standard of surroundings to be very good compared to others.
I am very satisfied with the care my mum is getting at Waterside. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
All of our family were very happy with the service provided.
Our aunt came into the home in January 2017 and has settled really well. The staff are really nice and keep us updated regularly. This is an extremely nice home. Our aunt is very well cared for and has thrived since being here. We would highly recommend this home. She is very happy.
Overall happy with the care provided for my father. I'm aware that the job that the staff do is very challenging.

Our home is truly wonderful, and we have an amazing team.

My name is Nicole Smith, and I am honoured to serve as the Senior Lead Nurse at Waterside Care Home. I joined the team in 2023 to support the launch of the Avon Unit, bringing with me over seven years of nursing experience spanning acute hospital care, care homes, and specialist palliative care within the community. Being part of the Avon Unit’s development from the ground up has been both a rewarding and professionally enriching experience.
Throughout my career, I have developed a deep passion for caring for others—particularly those with complex needs and at vulnerable stages of life. My background in specialist palliative care has taught me the importance of dignity, empathy, and personalised support, which I strive to uphold in every aspect of my role.
As Senior Lead Nurse, I am responsible for leading the nursing team to deliver safe, high-quality, and person-centred care. This includes administering medications, managing complex health needs, mentoring junior staff, and developing comprehensive care plans. I also work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure we provide a compassionate and nurturing environment for both residents and colleagues.
What I value most is the strong culture of teamwork and shared commitment that defines Waterside. I am dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents while supporting and empowering those I work alongside. It’s a privilege to be part of such a caring and dynamic community.

My name is Ansu Sunny, and I am privileged to serve as a Senior Registered Nurse at Waterside Care Home. I joined the team in June 2023, during the exciting launch of the new Avon unit, and it has been a truly rewarding experience to be part of this journey from its inception.
In my role as a Senior Nurse, I am entrusted with the responsibility of delivering exceptional care to our residents. This includes administering medications, closely monitoring health conditions, and leading our nursing team to ensure the highest standards of care and outcomes. I also take pride in mentoring junior staff, coordinating comprehensive care plans, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to create a safe, nurturing, and compassionate environment for both our residents and my colleagues.
What makes my role particularly fulfilling is the strong sense of teamwork and collaboration that defines our culture at Waterside Care Home. I am deeply passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents while providing unwavering support to my team. The opportunity to contribute to such a dynamic and caring community is truly an honour.

Collaborating with residents, families, our dedicated team, and external partners, aligns perfectly with Agincare’s mission of providing outstanding care in the community.

Hello My Name is Theresa, the Resident Ambassador here at Waterside. Having worked in the NHS for many years, campaigned with Friends Of The Earth, and worked as a Medical Secretary, I have the experience of getting to the bottom of what people need.
It is my pleasure to be a voice for the residents here at our home, and personally I believe that discussions are important for everyone. I endeavour to take into account the cost of things that we may want, whilst being reasonable and considering, will it be really useful, and is it worth it, as being organic, and fair trade is of interest to me.
I am proud to be a resident here at Waterside, and look forward to welcoming future residents to our home, whilst being committed to helping shape activities, and experiences for current and future residents.
