Appletree Court is a purpose-built care home offering elderly residential, nursing and dementia care. A professional team has furnished the home to a high standard, providing elegance and comfort.

The 'home from home' feel at Appletree Court is created by the dedicated staff who have been selected not only for their professional ability but also for their commitment to truly making a difference for the people in their care.

Resident’s rooms are spacious and feature en suite facilities. The communal areas are at the centre of what makes Appletree Court a real community whether it be at meal times or when enjoying activities. There are no fixed visiting hours so friends and family can come and see residents at any time.

The dining experience at Appletree Court boasts fine home cooking by a professional Chef who has created a menu to reflect the interests and tastes of the discerning residents.

Activities and day trips are an integral part of the resident’s well being. The activities coordinator encourages and helps residents continue with existing interests and also introduces new hobbies. Frequently residents are taken on day trips near and a little further from the home. The trips are very popular and recently, days out to Southend on Sea, Brent Cross Shopping Centre, RAF Museum Colindale, Crews Hill Garden Centre and Paradise Wildlife Park, Broxbourne have been greatly enjoyed.

Respite care at Appletree Court is very popular and enables those wishing to experience what the Home has to offer before making a full commitment.

Since my previous positive reviews of October 2017 and June 2018, Appletree continues to flourish, bearing good fruit. A complete refurbishment has enabled residents, relatives and other visitors to feel comfortable, giving a true home-from-home atmosphere. The top floor has now been reopened in grand
style; a community liaison coordinator has been appointed to interact with various organisations within the community, in particular, to help with residents' specific wishes (my mother's own wish will soon be realised).


Residents and relatives are involved in meetings to help with good menu choices, plus other aspects affecting their lives. A group of us, as relatives, have become involved, not only with our own loved ones but with other residents and each other, evolving into a relatives' support group with the blessing of management. Increased activities thanks to the activities coordinator include twice-weekly sing-alongs, participation by ALL at Appletree.

I wish to commend this care home for their diligence in the care they are providing/have provided and continue to give to my father. Staff are kind and gentle (this has been observed). Daddy presents happy and well cared for. All staff polite and helpful. All always happy to assist and give information
or comply with request pertaining to my father's care/wellbeing.

My mum spent her last days at Appletree Court and we found the staff to be caring and supportive.
We have a large family and were very concerned for mum, but management and staff did all they could to assist us.

My mother received excellent care for over the 2 year period she was a resident at Appletree Court. Sadly she died, in Appletree Court, in April this year


I have significant experience in healthcare; I am a Hospital and Hospice Doctor with over 30 years experience. I therefore feel I am in a privileged

position to judge quality of care as a fellow healthcare professional. My mother was treated with respect, her individualised needs were catered for and the care was of a high standard. I have nothing but praise for the staff at all levels. The care Home had a relaxed and professional ‘feel’ and I believe this excellent culture was due to the qualities of the leadership team.


In my view, the whole team at Appletree Court function extremely well and left me and my wife feeling confident that decisions that were made about my mother’s care were always in her best interests. Thank you.

My Mum was a resident at Appletree from July 2014 to her death in March 2016! The first anniversary of her death has prompted me to write this review.


From the time of her admittance (Mum had been admitted for respite care previously) her care both from all carers and nurses alike was second to

none. She was treated with respect and dignity at all times, her needs were constantly monitored and where changes were deemed necessary these were put into place and at all times I was part of the process! The Managers door was always open to me if I had any concerns and I never had any feelings of trepidation when I left the home about Mum being cared for effectively.


Lovely, warm, homely feeling when you enter the home, this I feel comes from the excellent management in place at Appletree!
