My mother has been well looked after in this care home for more than five years now. The staff are very kind with her and understand her well on a day to day basis.
So I'm happy with the way things are at present.

The care and support my aunt has received over the last two years has been consistently of the highest standard. The staff are always attentive and she is treated with dignity and respect. I get regular updates about her health and general well-being, if and when any health issues occur they are swiftly
dealt with in an appropriate manner.

Although Mum was only at Beechwood House for 6 months, she was treated with great care and respect. The staff were wonderful to both Mum, myself and all her visitors. We were always offered a cup of tea when we arrived and were greeted with a smile. Although Mum had lost her appetite the staff tempted
her with a variety of choices and spent time with her ensuring she ate something. The care she received was wonderful.

The staff at Beechwood House are excellent. They are professional, utterly competent and combine efficiency with compassion. The level of care enjoyed by my father is of the highest order. Our family are completely at ease in the knowledge that my father has the best care anyone could wish for and we
are deeply grateful.

We required attentive care, a valuing of the individual, quick medical care and attention and a warm, friendly and respectful atmosphere and welcome. All these and more have been experienced and enjoyed from day one at Beechwood House. Somehow the staff and the leadership manage to stay being "all eyes
and all ears" constantly whilst maintaining a professional standard.
We particularly, therefore, appreciate the patience and goodwill of all the staff with whom we've had contact and observed too. They give equally kind and long-suffering attention to each resident as they need it - and the pressure of offering attentive attention, good humour, support and kindly reassurance and care never seems to diminish at all. The house staff, actually at all hours of the day and night, are terrific in every respect. We're mighty pleased, as we are mightily impressed!! "

All the staff are extremely friendly, very caring and empathetic towards the residents. A carer we know was particularly looking after our friend when we were there.
The management always helpful when we ring. The carer is a credit to your care home.

When looking for a care home for my grandad, we saw four or five in the local area and Beechwood House ticked all the boxes for us.
Homely feel, clean but not clinical, lovely staff who are caring and kind. My grandad had lived in his home since the early fifties and naturally his transition to a
care home was always going to be difficult but the wonderful staff helped him to settle in with dignity.

From the day my mother moved into Beechwood House, she has been welcomed into the Beechwood 'family'. The staff attend to her every need and always treat her with respect. The home is always clean and the residents are well fed, always clean and tidy and offered drinks regularly. When visiting I am
always greeted with a smile and always welcome at any time. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they work non stop to provide a happy, safe environment for all the residents.

Beechwood House feels like a second home for the residents, family and friends. The staff are always friendly and will help you with anything that they can. Its also good that everyone uses their first name, so we all get to know each other well. That's important to us all.

When my wife was in her first care home after leaving hospital. My daughter and I decided that the care she was receiving was not up to the standard we would have expected and we decided to transfer her to Beechwood House.
She was a resident there for nearly two years and we were completely satisfied
with her care and the facilities offered as indicated in my ratings. The home had a very friendly and homely feel about it, with the staff providing genuine care and attention.

My mother has been a resident at Beechwood House for a couple of years and I can honestly say I have not found anything negative about the home. My mother-in-law spent her last years in a modern, purpose built care home, which was nice, but it didn't have the homely atmosphere you get at Beechwood House.
The
staff are always cheerful and welcoming to visitors. They always seem to be understanding to the resident's needs. My mother is always dressed and presentable and sitting in her chair in the lounge when I visit. When I sit with my mother, it is easy to watch the staff going about their work in a professional manner, even when some of the residents, at times, have difficult moments. The home is clean, tidy and I couldn't wish for a better place for my mother to be.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.141)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.141) out of 10 for Beechwood House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.266 for Beechwood House is calculated as follows: ( (85 Excellents x 5) + (78 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 188 Ratings = 4.266
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechwood House is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 23 registered maximum number of service users is 4.6, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
