My mother receives excellent care at Beechwood House. It has a very friendly atmosphere. The food is good, and there are daily activities such as music and movement and quizzes. The staff are very caring indeed. I would definitely recommend Beechwood House.

My parents have been residents of the last 7 years. Unfortunately, my mum passed away earlier this month. The staff offered my family the best support through this difficult time. My dad is now being cared for with dignity and sympathy. I cannot thank the staff enough.

Beechwood House is a lovely warm, caring and safe place for our loved ones to stay. The staff are tentative and loving towards their residents, in both a professional and personal capacity. The home is always clean and tidy, more importantly, the nurses have individual connections with the residents,
which both comforts the residents and reassures the family that their loved ones are safe and happy.
I couldn't recommend highly enough.

My aunt always seems very happy when we visit. She is calm and very relaxed to speak with us. The staff always greet us with a smile and are extremely friendly and chatty. They are kind and always offer us tea that we can share with our aunt. The care home is kept very clean and offers a good variety
of activities.

Beechwood House is an excellent care home run by caring, friendly, competent and hard working staff and managed well and efficiently by the owners. The home is always spotlessly clean and hygienic and always smells fresh. The staff, without exception, interact well with the residents and treat them
all with respect and dignity despite their difficulties associated with dementia. Residents are treated as individuals as I have watched staff deal calmly and efficiently with emergencies (for instance, when residents dress themselves or need the toilet) Staff never complain no matter what they are faced with. The home keeps you well informed of any changes in your relatives circumstances and my mother's well being has certainly improved in the 5 years she has been a resident.

Excellent warm and friendly care as always- smiley happy staff from the moment the door opens and father very happy and content today (as ever). The staff are all clearly fond of him and can't do enough to make sure we and him are comfortable. If we ever ended up needing a nursing home we would want
it to be like Beechwood House and it is very reassuring to know my father is in such good hands. Thank you to the excellent staff.

Dad is well cared for in a competent and sympathetic fashion. His condition is managed effectively and his care is both individual and tailored to keep him as active and engaged as is possible with Alzheimers. He appears happy and is well fed and gets goo support from all the carers who look after him.
When visiting we are well treated and the facilities for outside, inside or in public areas are well maintained and pleasant.

I looked at many care homes and when I found Beechwood House, It felt like home. All of the staff are so kind and caring, not just to my mum but to all the residents. Nothing is too much trouble, mum is 101 and has settled really well because she has been made to feel part of a family at Beechwood House.
And
for myself to have peace of mind knowing that she is safe, cared for and happy. I haven't had that for a very long time.
Beechwood House is spotlessly clean, warm and cosy, so homely. My mum was very lovely, living at home alone and frightened, it is such a comfort for me seeing her interacting with anybody and so much happier in herself.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.141)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.141) out of 10 for Beechwood House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.266 for Beechwood House is calculated as follows: ( (85 Excellents x 5) + (78 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 188 Ratings = 4.266
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechwood House is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 23 registered maximum number of service users is 4.6, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
