This pioneering use of technology saw Homemead named as a finalist in the 2022 Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards, while their ongoing excellence in supporting those living with dementia saw them receive the Dignity Award from Richmond Social Services.

Very useful and very comforting. Nice little garden when the sun shines. Good friends here, we all sleep quite a lot. Got my own piano here, so I can play when I feel I won't upset people. Comfy chairs, enough for all of us. I think I have been here before and I am quite happy to come back again.

My sister seems to be happy living at Homemead. Her needs are taken care of and her sometimes challenging behaviour has been sensitively dealt with by the competent staff. On occasion, I have been offended by her aggressive attitude towards me and I have the staff to thank for their empathy and comfort
at a distressing time for me. For the ratings, I feel unable to express an opinion on some as I do not have the inside information on which I base my judgement.

I moved my mother to Homemead in July 2018 so she was closer to family. I cannot fault Homemead in any wy.
Management are very hands-on, professional and very welcoming. Carers at Homemead understand the meaning of "care". They are patient, attentive and treat residents as individuals and know how
to deal with difficult situations.
On my mother's birthday recently, a fantastic cake was made for her and my mother didn't stop smiling (and ate 2 whole slices).
While some care homes feel like and institution, homemead feels like a "home".

Homemead is a welcoming, friendly relaxed place. The staff are caring, kind, always smiling and happy and it's great to see the same faces most of the time.
After only three months my friend has settled in well and seems very happy and well cared for.

My mother had quite a difficult time when she was first accepted into Homemead but the team there were extremely patient and experienced in calming my mother. The home always lets us know of any incidences or doctors appointments etc and my sister and I are very very happy with the home. My mother now
loves to tell us all how happy she is and how lovely the home is.

Homemead is a friendly small care home with welcoming and committed staff offering various sized bedrooms and a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
A particular advantage is that the home has its own garden but is also close to Bushy Park which is car and wheelchair accessible.

On my visits to my mother, I have found the home to be not only a clean and safe environment but also a welcoming and happy one.
It is obvious to the visitor that the staff are dealing with residents who, in some cases, have many challenging needs, however, they go about their duties in a professional
and friendly manner.
On each of my visits, I have found activities underway with the staff assisting and encouraging residents to participate.

I am relatively new to Homemead visits as my wife was admitted on 27/12/18.
My impressions on visits every other day are of a caring, well-trained carer staff who deal with a wide behavioural pattern with care and understanding in sometimes difficult circumstances. My wife is clean, wholesome, well
dressed and stress-free which is vastly different from behaviour pattern at home under my care. Arranging her entry into Homemead was right for her and my peace of mind that she is in good, caring hands.

My stepmother has been at Homemead for just over three months. Having previously viewed a number of care homes, I am delighted with the good standard and open door policy offered by Homemead, evidenced by the speed at which my stepmother settled in. The home is warm, odour-free, clean, well-staffed
and efficiently run by an experienced and friendly team for whom nothing seems too much trouble.


The staff's efficiency has been remarkably consistent and I have found them unfailingly concerned with the detail of my stepmother's care. The food, my stepmother assures me, is very good, which I can well believe as I am convinced that a nourishing diet has played a significant part in the marked improvement in my stepmother's overall health. I have observed assistance and service delivered by engaged staff to all residents with kindness, patience, sensitivity and good humour (and to their relatives too - thank you!).


I have also noticed the staff spend time with residents and I have been pleased to see there are a number of organised activities including river trip and various animal visits. Anywhere that actually allows a pony to come onto the premises most definitely gets my vote!

We have been so grateful to the lovely staff at Homemead for their excellent care of mum in a period of respite to hopefully permanent care. She came in from A&E a mess and is now warm, safe and back on her feet. We do hope she remains with these rather amazing people who have given her back her dignity
at her advanced age in life.

My mother has been at Homemead for the last 4 years and has always been very well looked after. It is a lovely place very welcoming and the staff are extremely caring. I could not have hoped for a nicer place having seen around 15 care homes before this I knew I had made the right choice for my mum.

Homemead is a very high standard caring home. The staff and management are first class. It is always very clean. We are always welcomed with tea, coffee and biscuits when we arrive, which is most welcome as we have a 2-hour journey. My husband and I are at complete ease knowing his brother is so well
looked after we cannot thank them enough for their kindness and patience they have with him.

I am a local priest. I come to conduct a service every month with a small team. On occasion, we arrange for children from the local primary school to come.
This centre is always brilliant at welcoming us and helping us and the residents to have a valuable experience.
The team, from the manager down,
are smiley, warm and sensitive to the residents.
It is a family atmosphere and I am happy to offer this feedback.

With six years as a Registered Manager, she has also held roles such as Operations Manager overseeing seven mental health and learning disabilities services, Care Home Manager, Deputy Care Manager, Health and Social Care Trainer, Field Care Supervisor, and Senior Care Coordinator.


Her background includes experience in the NHS as a Practice Manager, NHS Patient Care Manager, Health Advisor for NHS111, and Administrator.
