A very warm, caring staff who do their utmost to create a happy, relaxed and joyful atmosphere for all who reside, work and visit. Be sure, no matter how informal things maybe, everything is dealt with quickly and professionally. Whatever you may ask of them, however busy they may be, they deal with it straight away, with a smile on their face and with grace. This gives my mother and me great piece of mind and reassurance for the safety and well-being of my uncle. We know without any doubt we made the right decision when we chose Homemead.

For the last 7 months Mum has been a resident at Homemead where she is happy and well looked after.
During this terrible pandemic, the staff have worked tirelessly to keep the residents safe and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work in these difficult times. The staff have had to take on additional tasks as no external entertainers are allowed into the home but they are always happy to facilitate telephone and video calls so I can keep in touch with my mum. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

We are so lucky that we found this home for Mum.

Right from visiting the home I felt it gave the vibes I wanted for my Mum. She has recently been widowed and sufferers with Alzheimer's. Finding Homemead, I knew it was right for my Mum. It's not been easy for Mum to settle into new surroundings, but the caring staff have helped tp the highest level. She now is part of the family at Homemead, and I can visit whenever I want. I feel she is safe, cared for and happy.

A very welcoming home with attractive residents lounge. My friend is well cared for, enjoys the activities and the food. The staff are friendly, caring and take time to engage with residents and assist those needing extra help. There always seem to be a good number on duty.

I could not fault the caring staff. They have been wonderful and caring for my mother's needs.
Their shiny disposition has been an enormous help to us settling her.

The manager has been wonderful!

All the staff at Homemead have worked extremely hard to settle my father into the home and make him feel looked after. They have bent over backwards to arrange items he needed, and we feel that they would make every effort to attend to his needs. They have allowed him to follow his old routine, which I am sure is more difficult and time-consuming for them, but they clearly want him to be comfortable and happy.

I would not hesitate to recommend Homemead.

Very useful and very comforting. Nice little garden when the sun shines. Good friends here, we all sleep quite a lot. Got my own piano here, so I can play when I feel I won't upset people. Comfy chairs, enough for all of us. I think I have been here before and I am quite happy to come back again.

Review from A G (Sister of Resident) published on 11 October 2019 Submitted via Postal Card

My sister seems to be happy living at Homemead. Her needs are taken care of and her sometimes challenging behaviour has been sensitively dealt with by the competent staff. On occasion, I have been offended by her aggressive attitude towards me and I have the staff to thank for their empathy and comfort at a distressing time for me. For the ratings, I feel unable to express an opinion on some as I do not have the inside information on which I base my judgement.

I moved my mother to Homemead in July 2018 so she was closer to family. I cannot fault Homemead in any wy.
Management are very hands-on, professional and very welcoming. Carers at Homemead understand the meaning of "care". They are patient, attentive and treat residents as individuals and know how to deal with difficult situations.
On my mother's birthday recently, a fantastic cake was made for her and my mother didn't stop smiling (and ate 2 whole slices).

While some care homes feel like and institution, homemead feels like a "home".

My mother had quite a difficult time when she was first accepted into Homemead but the team there were extremely patient and experienced in calming my mother. The home always lets us know of any incidences or doctors appointments etc and my sister and I are very very happy with the home. My mother now loves to tell us all how happy she is and how lovely the home is.

Homemead is a friendly small care home with welcoming and committed staff offering various sized bedrooms and a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

A particular advantage is that the home has its own garden but is also close to Bushy Park which is car and wheelchair accessible.

On my visits to my mother, I have found the home to be not only a clean and safe environment but also a welcoming and happy one.
It is obvious to the visitor that the staff are dealing with residents who, in some cases, have many challenging needs, however, they go about their duties in a professional and friendly manner.

On each of my visits, I have found activities underway with the staff assisting and encouraging residents to participate.

I am relatively new to Homemead visits as my wife was admitted on 27/12/18.

My impressions on visits every other day are of a caring, well-trained carer staff who deal with a wide behavioural pattern with care and understanding in sometimes difficult circumstances. My wife is clean, wholesome, well dressed and stress-free which is vastly different from behaviour pattern at home under my care. Arranging her entry into Homemead was right for her and my peace of mind that she is in good, caring hands.

Review from Lynnet G (Stepdaughter of Resident) published on 29 November 2018 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My stepmother has been at Homemead for just over three months. Having previously viewed a number of care homes, I am delighted with the good standard and open door policy offered by Homemead, evidenced by the speed at which my stepmother settled in. The home is warm, odour-free, clean, well-staffed and efficiently run by an experienced and friendly team for whom nothing seems too much trouble.

The staff's efficiency has been remarkably consistent and I have found them unfailingly concerned with the detail of my stepmother's care. The food, my stepmother assures me, is very good, which I can well believe as I am convinced that a nourishing diet has played a significant part in the marked improvement in my stepmother's overall health. I have observed assistance and service delivered by engaged staff to all residents with kindness, patience, sensitivity and good humour (and to their relatives too - thank you!).

I have also noticed the staff spend time with residents and I have been pleased to see there are a number of organised activities including river trip and various animal visits. Anywhere that actually allows a pony to come onto the premises most definitely gets my vote!

We have been so grateful to the lovely staff at Homemead for their excellent care of mum in a period of respite to hopefully permanent care. She came in from A&E a mess and is now warm, safe and back on her feet. We do hope she remains with these rather amazing people who have given her back her dignity at her advanced age in life.
