Review of Homemead from Karen B (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum is in her fourth year at Homemead and I am very happy with the quality of care she receives. The staff are friendly, warm and highly skilled. They really care about the well being of the residents. Mum's needs have changed considerably over the years and Homemead have responded by making sure, she has what she needs to feel comfortable and supported at each stage of the dementia. They have good links with the local GP and regular visits from the District Nurse and GP - it is very reassuring to know that is all in place. Food is of high quality and there are various activities on most days. Lovely garden and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Reply from Chrissie Guest, Care Co-ordinator at Homemead

Overall Experience
I am so impressed with the care my husband is getting. The staff are lovely respond to all my enquires and requests .
He developed a swollen hand and they were immediately on to it monitoring and take advice from the gp . I couldn't be more impressed with their care and attention.
They are so lovely when you speak to them you never feel they don't want to help their residents and to all the relatives .
It is refreshing to meet professionals who are happy to spend time with you and listen to anything you want to raise. It reassures me they are open and frank about everything but also sensitive to relatives who are usually vulnerable themselves.
They organised a very enjoyable trip on the river which I was very impressed with sent lots of staff and everyone enjoyed it . I felt that their efforts were so rewarded in the enjoyment the residents showed.

I know in comparison to other care homes that my family saw we have a very homely comfortable caring home . We are so lucky

My wife would be lost if not for Homemead. I believe the carehome is doing an excellent job in looking after my wife and keeping her happy. The staff are wonderful and do an excellent job in looking after the residents and creating a home-like atmosphere. I can relax completely knowing she is in safe hands.

The home is in need of an update as it's a little tired looking in its decor. However, the staff are great and it's a warm, friendly and homely environment. They have daily activities and there is a secure garden where you can sit away from the the general room.

Reply from Chrissie Guest, Care Co-ordinator at Homemead

Review of Cecil Court from A E (Niece of Resident) published on 4 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our independent Aunt would not accept that she could no longer look after herself, until she had a fall. It was clear that she needed focussed care, so she ended up in Cecil Court. For a very long time she refused to leave her room. But the staff were so patient, and so kind, that eventually she started to trust them and relax. In the end she was even sitting in the shared living-room, and interacting with the other residents.

I cannot praise the staff enough. The leadership sets a caring and respectful tone, while being also fully professional, and the staff treated our Aunt with love and care and dedication. No doubt, other homes may look smarter, or have more expensive décor, but the only issue that we really care about as relatives, is that the carers are kind and loving. Several members of staff went above and beyond, in caring for our Aunt. It made a huge difference to her, in her last years, and we will never forget them. Thank you, from the family, to the staff of Cecil Court

My mother has dementia and has been at Homemead since May 2024 - Her general health has improved since moving from her home and having regular care, meals and people around I believe are a great benefit to her. She has visits from her friends as she lived in Teddington her whole life, so being accessible for them is a benefit. There is always parking, but not always private spaces to have conversations (other than her room).
I live far away I only get to visit once every 3 to 4 months and the care team have arranged video calls with her in between these visits.

The staff have always been helpful and have time to chat.

I visit A friend quite regularly and always find him calm and in good humour. I have commented in ratings only where I have experience.

Staff always seem attentive and caring and perform their role with great patience. A friendly atmosphere exudes, obviously I have no comment on food but my friend often speaks highly of the quality and I can say all residents have regular hot/cold drinks

I'd like to thank Cecil Court Care home staff and management for making my dad feel safe and loved everyday
He's settled in so well at Cecil court and as a family that's all you can ask, as it's never easy to move a loved one into a home from his home, it's confusing and stressful for the individual concerned. The staff and management have made this transition with us and with our father and now we see how happy he is everyday.
Thanks to all at Cecil Court.
Kindest regards

Nick

Truly, a fantastic care home !
My mother Evelyn has moved into Homemead in early January and I could not be any happier to see her here.
The property is extremely homely.
Well appointed with comfortable rooms and spaces for all the residents and there's a very calming feel to the whole place.
The home feels safe and it is extremely well organised and run by all the staff.
All carers and staff are just lovely!
Patient, understanding, and genuinely caring people, all of them.

Tracey especially, a real earth angel ! Thank you so much for looking after mum they way you do. The love you show to all the residents and they way you work with all the people is amazing xx.

All the staff are kind and respectful in this warm and friendly home. The management team work hard to ensure excellent care alongside activities for the residents. Meals are nutritious and varied. It is a fantastic care home where positive relationships between residents and the staff are evident. My uncle and his late partner first came to Rathmore House early 2023. Whilst I live in Australia since that date I have visited UK six times and Rathmore House multiple times each visit. Review of Rathmore House from Bill C (Friend of Resident) published on 21 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Rathmore is a small care home, so staff and residents get to know each other. Where I've given 4 stars, it's because there may be room for improvement, not because I have any particular criticism. I have heard some criticism of the food. I wish there were more activities outside the home, but I know that's difficult. Perhaps there should be more staff.

Reply from Chrissie Guest, Care Co-ordinator at Rathmore House

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are aware there were some issues with the food which we have taken steps to resolve by working with our chefs to introduce new menus which our residents seem to be enjoying. Review of Rathmore House from M B (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
With just 20 residents, Rathmore House has a kindly but relaxed and unrestrictive atmosphere. The layout is open and welcoming, the decor unpretentious , and much of the original Victorian building and garden is unchanged. Meals are often excellent, cooked on site, and if weather invites we are able to eat in the garden. Visitors can stay as long as they like and I greatly appreciate being allowed to be as involved as I wish in my mother's day. Rathmore House is very well located for short outings, such as in a wheelchair. It's about 15 minutes walk from beautiful park. The area itself provides an interesting saunter, being lined with trees and fascinating Victorian mansions and leading to a pleasant little park behind the theatre.

Most important of all, Rathmore House has some lovely, caring members of staff, whose warmth, kindness and sense of humour has kept this particular family member's head above water on frequent occasions!

Review of Homemead from Pieter M (Husband of Resident) published on 20 June 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
As soon as your enter Homemead it feels like a home where I am delighted my wife is cared for by a team who all take "care" as their main aim. They all welcome me every time I visit and they all connect with my wife with either just a smile or a cuddle or a kiss to make her feel she belongs and has anew home where she is looked after.

All the staff are so considerate of her needs. My wife reacts to their attention with a smile. She has no memory of her life before being in Homemead, but I am confident that she is being cared for by a team who all work so hard to make her as welcome and comfortable as possible.

Review of Homemead from Stephen J (Son of Resident) published on 20 June 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My mother entered the care home early May this year, which is a very sad time for families, however she has settled in and is clearly benefiting from the services provided. The staff are hero's here, catering for all their needs, even before they require them.
The home is like one big family (yes it has it's characters) and everyone is included, entertainment provided and well received by the residents, there are no set visiting times which makes it easy for us to staffer times.

My wife and I enjoy visiting the home and have made friends with the residents who stay there, cannot praise the home and staff enough.
