I went to see a lot of homes. When we went to Minchenden Lodge, I knew this was the one for my mum. It's very homely, very clean and didn't smell. The carers were very caring and had a very positive attitude, which I liked. It took time for my mum to get used to the new environment, but we got there in the end. All the staff work extremely hard and go above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely recommend Minchenden Lodge. A big thank you to the manager and her team.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Thank you for all your support during Mum's transition period and all your continued support.
Minchenden Lodge is a very well run, outstanding care home. We knew from the moment we walked in that this was the home for mum. It is warm, inviting and very clean. The staff are lovely and very caring and I would say that they are amazing. The manager and her staff were very supportive to family members and they go above and beyond the call of duty. A very special home.
Thank you so much for these kind words, I will pass this onto the staff. As they will appreciate your positive feedback.
Warm, friendly carers, excellent young manageress.
Very imaginative dining room, decorated with wall hangings as an outdoor courtyard.
Great idea and gives a comfortable, relaxed room for residents' mealtimes.
Excellent choice of hanging flower baskets at the door.
Very pleased my mother in law is here.
Staff are friendly, efficient and resident-centred.
The home is beautifully kept and very clean.
My mother has been there more than 7 years and as I live abroad, it is a huge comfort to me to know that she is safe and well cared for by people who genuinely care.
My dad just said, "Am I going to stay here the rest of my life?" I said, "Yes", and with a smile, he said, "Oh good". This was so reassuring for me that he is happy and content at Minchenden Lodge.
This is so lovely. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I will let the staff know.
Minchenden Lodge was my dad's home for 3 years until he passed away in February 2019. The care he was given there was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for staff, including care staff, managers and housekeeping staff. The activities and outings arranged for residents were great and my dad particularly enjoyed days out at the races and the seaside. The entertainers who came into Minchenden Lodge were of high quality. Relatives and friends are always welcomed and made to feel at home. At the end of his life the care my dad received was exemplary and so was the care we, his family, experienced. I can't thank the manager and her team enough.
Thank you so much, Lesley. Dad was a pleasure to know and care for as were all of you. Our home is always open to you all.
I am very happy with all aspects of my mother's care, but especially the friendly staff and the sensitive way that they carry out their duties.
Thank you Chris and for all your support. I will pass this feedback onto the staff.
My friend seems happy to be here. This is the first time I've visited and she is new and getting used to the new environment. The staff all seem very friendly and helpful.
Staff are extremely capable and friendly. I do not worry about mother once I have left the premises. I know she is in safe hands. Staff go above and beyond the call of duty. Premises are always clean. I am impressed that staff are always thinking of new activities for residents.
Your kind words mean a lot, thank you so much. I will pass on your positive comments to the staff.
It seems so safe.
Thank you for your positive comments, I will pass these onto the staff, they will be pleased with this feedback. Hope to see you soon.
Very good care. Very happy. Good work.
Thank you for your kind comments. I will pass this onto the staff. Take care.
There is a 'family' feel about the place and all the residents appear well and happy.
I visit my mother about five days a week and find her content and happy on most occasions, despite having dementia.
Many thanks for your kind review of our service, the management and staff are very proud to receive such praise and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Goods overall standard of care, Mums breathing owing to her COPD condition has deteriorated a little in recent months but her care at the home has taken this into account. The staff are very polite and efficient, I visit her 2-3 times per week and they are always helpful.
Staff are always very pleasant, friendly welcoming. Any queries/concerns I might have are always dealt with in a caring, sensitive, professional manner. Residents seem happy and well cared for whenever I visit. My auntie's room is always very clean, tidy and well kept and she is very settled at this care home. I have no complaints from what I see about Minchenden Lodge. The staff work hard to keep this home clean and tidy and it is well kept to the high standard, and they always ensure the residents are safe and get the care and dignity they so deserve. I would definitely recommend this care home.
I recently visited a dear friend of mine, after recovering a recent operation. During many phone calls and all the positive comments she made of the home, I decided to see for myself. I was made to feel at home as soon as the door was answered, I was greeted with tea and biscuits and a smile. They were extremely welcoming and most definitely changed my view on "care homes" as they have been portrayed in the media. The staff showed such care and warmth to their residents and showed the true definition of person centred care. The management were polite and showed they were part of the home and not locked away as some are in other places, Minchenden Lodge was filled with love and laughter. I have decided what home I would like to be in should I need it. Management should be overwhelmed with the home they have built and may they continue to strive in what they do best. I will definitely be back to visit soon.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Pamella. I will pass this on to the staff, hope to see you soon.
Minchenden Lodge is a friendly place where my Dad has been made extremely welcome. The staff, including housekeeping and kitchen staff, are cheerful and very kind and they take the trouble to get to know Dad's likes and dislikes. The food is very good and my Dad enjoys having a choice of main meal every day. Care staff are polite and helpful and support my Dad with his care needs well. The home isn't too big with only around 20 residents.
A full-time activities person arranges exercise, music, crafts etc, which anyone can join in, but she also arranges activities for individuals relating to things they're interested in. Relatives and visitors are always made extremely welcome and are invited to social events at various points in the year. We found that some homes we looked at didn't smell too fresh but Minchenden is always fresh and clean. My Dad's room is lovely and always kept very clean and tidy, which means he can take visitors there to sit and have a cup of tea and a chat.
My experience of this care home has exceeded all my expectations. My brothers and I have peace of mind knowing that our mother is well cared for. It's like having an extended family where the staff show such caring and affection and create a real homely environment. They are most attentive to her health needs and work closely with me to address any needs arising, making me feel a part of their team. I would not hesitate in recommending the home for care of the elderly.
When there have any specific issues, the staff at Minchenden have been clear and informative about the situations and the planned solutions.
What a wonderful find! The ambiance of the whole place was so reassuring and friendly. Staff were so very helpful and understanding of my husbands needs. I was able to leave him with confidence that he would be treated with respect and kindness.
Such wonderful staff and an excellent manager who was kindness itself.
Thank you.
