Nettlestead has deliberately focused on quality rather than quantity, remaining small enough for everybody to know each other, and their clients and their families love it.

Instead of providing care as it has always been done, the owners of Nettlestead asked what they would want from a care home, and the results are what set them apart. Complementary quality wine and sherry, en-suite toilets and baths that you would be delighted...

I left a review of Nettlestead in September 2017. Now some 18 months it's time for a fresh review. My Mother's health has deteriorated, but the care has not. My Mother is happy and so am I knowing that she gets a lot more than just 'physical and practical care'. She gets these of course, but more importantly, she gets lots of time, love, care and emotional support. The staff are exceptional and it's now no exaggeration to say my Mother has acquired 15+ loving and caring surrogate daughters! Positive reviews can sound a bit contrived. I hope mine doesn't, but I cannot express enough my gratitude to ALL the staff for the wonderful care my Mother receives enough!

Very happy with the care my friend receives. She is 103 in June and her mobility is limited. Her mind is still sharp and she appreciates the activities and care that is given. All the staff are helpful and respectful to residents and visitors alike.

Mum has been in Nettlestead Care Home since January 2018 after having a bad experience in a different home. Mum is well looked after, happy and doing well.

The staff are very approachable and friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

I would recommend Nettlestead Care Home to anyone who was considering for an elderly relative or friend.

We are extremely satisfied with the care and love that my mother has received over the last 2 + years at Nettlestead Care Home. The staff go that extra mile to provide individualised care. The activities are stimulating and varied. The food is excellent, nutritious and freshly prepared. The staff also give the family support. Excellent care!

My experience is mostly very good, but a member of staff in the lounge at all times would be beneficial as clashes with residents (each other) would diminish as this causes unease with other people who reside at the home.

A beautifully maintained home with very caring staff. My mother has recently moved here and is settling down well. The atmosphere is calm, friendly and secure. Staff are approachable and considerate at all times. The food is freshly prepared and varied and there are plenty of activities for those who want to take part. Nettlestead Care Home really feels like a home from home.

This is an excellent home.
Staff are attentive and caring.
They know the needs of individual residents eg know their food preferences and cater accordingly.
The atmosphere is welcoming to visitors.
They go above and beyond for residents, offering care when it is beyond their remit.

I am extremely happy with the service provided.

Nettlestead provides my father with a high standard of care in terms of support and kindness shown by both the care team and management. The food is of a high quality, with a choice and served regularly. His room and communal areas are clean, and the family are satisfied that the home responds promptly and sympathically to residents individual needs.

Activities are frequent and attempt to stimulate/engage all the residents. Nettlestead is a converted Edwardian villa and there are limitations on the number/type of communal areas for residents to move around in/withdraw/meet visitors etc.

My mother has been very happy here. She accepts she cannot cope in her own home and does not wish to live in her own home. She is well cared for and if she requires medical attention this is quickly arranged by the carers in the home. She is always clean and tidy when I go in. She eats and drinks more than when on her own.

Nettlestead is a very pleasant small care Home. The people working there are always very helpful and cheerful. They look after the residents well and are always friendly.

The home itself is always clean and tidy, activities are on in the lounge most if not all days. There is a nice garden with level decking, nice seats and a summer house.

My mother has been at Nettlestead for two years now and she couldn't be happier. They strive to make the place a real home from home. Rooms are comfortable as are the communal areas. The staff are excellent and go out of their way to make residents comfortable.

We have found that the whole staff are welcoming, very friendly, kind and attentive to the needs of the residents. They also have a good sense of humour which is so important when coping with and reassuring the residents - and their families. There is a warm atmosphere at Nettlestead.
