We couldn't be happier with the care provided to mum at Queen Elizabeth Home.
Her transition to residential living was handled with care and sensitivity and she has adapted better than we could have hoped, thanks to the wonderful staff and management here.
There is a real sense of community. among staff, residents and relatives. We are 100% happy that mum is in the best possible place and thankful that she is in such a warm and caring environment
Thank you so much for your review of our service, we will continue to work with you, all the residents and their families to maintain the standards of care
My mum has been a resident at this home now for a few months, she lived with me for a while after my Dad passed, but had been recommended this home by a friend and after a visit I immediately knew this was the right choice for her. The manager is lovely and all the staff are very caring and attentive. There are no agency staff which I think is important as they get used to the happy faces and the caring people who work there. She has settled in really well with the other residents and because she has memory issues she has been able to find her way around quite well as it's not too big for her. When you walk in there is a lovely cosy, warm Ambience and her room always looks clean and tidy. I couldn't ask for anything more knowing that my mum is content, happy, safe and has put on weight. I would definitely recommend this home without any hesitation and I am so pleased there was a room available when I visited.
Thank you so much for your positive review, we will strive to raise the bar all whilst consulting with you and the other relatives and residents of QEH!
We are so happy we chose this beautiful caring home for her. The carers are like family to us now and have been there many years which is always a good sign. Mum has really settled in now and has made many friends. The food is wonderful.. I have tried it myself many times when the home provide special family events. Mum loves the food too and she has put on weight which is good as living on her own she didn't really cook much.
In mums words she says she is treated like a queen there. I think she is the hairdressers best customer. It's very reassuring to us that mum is being so well looked after and is so happy there.
Thank you so much for the positive review, we will continue to aim for the highest standards of care.
Mum has been at Queen Elizabeth House for a few months now and we as a family are very happy with the care and attention she has received. All staff and management have been amazing during this settling in period. We know she is in a safe place and being well cared for at all times. We are kept informed and involved in any changes in her care. Whatever time we visit the residents and staff seem well happy which makes for a lovely atmosphere. I certainly would recommend this home.
Thank you ever so much for your positive feedback, which will be presented to the team!
The staff bend over backwards to accommodate my Mother as she can be quite a fusspot! Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they take great care into making sure the residents are comfortable/ health checked , regularly.
They have parties for residents birthdays so all can enjoy-often with entertainment laid on (and beautiful cakes!)
I wouid thoroughly recommend this wonderful care home .
Thank you so much for your positive review, we will continue to work with you, the remaining families, and all the residents to make Queen Elizabeth House always your home of choice.
I wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else now, we have great faith all is well as long as she is there.
Thank you so much for your review, we will continue to strive to maintain the care quality as agreed with you and your loved one.
My Mum has been in Queen Elizabeth Care Home for around 7 months and she loves being there. She feels very settled and secure and frequently says she is the happiest she has been in years. I can visit virtually any time that suits me, I have always been made welcome and any concerns are discussed promptly with me. I can't speak highly enough of this care home, the staff are amazing, the care is second to none and we are so pleased we found it. We looked at 7 other homes before we chose this one and this care home is far and away the best we looked at. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Queen Elizabeth Care Home, I just wish we had found it years ago!
Thank you so much for your positive review, which I will share with the team. We will continually strive to maintain the standards.
Great care home, my Grandad was very well looked after by friendly staff who couldn't do enough for him. The home was very clean, the food of a high standard and there are plenty of opportunities for the residents to socialise between meal times, at organised events or in the beautiful garden outside.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, we will continue to work hard to maintain the standard.
So good to my father-in-law. Every need catered for and staff so helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble at any time of day. Lots of activities were planned over the period he was there. Would recommend.
Thank you so much for your review, we will continue to reach for further improvement.
My father has been so well looked after at Queen Elizabeth House that his physical health has vastly improved. Every member of staff that I have interacted with has been kind, helpful, professional and genuinely interested in caring for their elderly residents. My father has enjoyed the daily chats and jokes with staff. I can't thank the staff enough for the care he has had while with them.
Thank you ever so much for your review of the service we provide at QEH, we will continue to strive for further improvement.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room provided was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The parking facilities were convenient making visits easy. Overall I was confident that my Grandad was being well looked after whilst staying here.
Thank you so much for your review, we will continue to look at the service with fresh eyes, with an aim to exceed our residents' wishes.
My mother has dementia which has significant challenges, but the greatest asset that the home has is the fantastic nursing and support team who know her now so well, and I feel all of her needs are taken care of. The level of communication is excellent, I feel I am kept fully informed of any changes in Mum's care, and am involved at all levels of decision-making.
It feels like another home for us too. The recent summer barbecue being a case in point, I would highly recommend.
Thank you for the positive review, we will continue to seek new ways to build upon the standards achieved.
The medical facilities are also excellent - we no longer have to worry about medication being taken or on time and my mother can't speak more highly of the doctor that serves all the residents in the home.
It has a lovely atmosphere, we are always made welcome, and I enjoy visiting.
My team and I will continue to seek new ways to maintain the high standard of care to your mother and all the residents at Queen Elizabeth House.
My mother has recently moved in the Queen Elizabeth House and we have so far found the home to be first-class. It is exceptionally clean, and meals are of a high standard. They offer a good range of activities and the staff are very attentive to the residents and provide a very professional level of service, they are encouraging, and supportive and enable residents to keep a level of independence, which is important. The gardens are beautifully kept and overall a very homely feeling at Queen Elizabeth House. We are thankful that our mother is a resident at this home.
Thank you for your positive review of our service, we will continue to strive to ensure it meets the standards desired by you and your mother.
The home continues to provide top-class care for my mother and where possible keeps her involved in all activities run by the home. We cannot fault the staff, they are always courteous, patient and helpful in all matters. I would highly recommend Queen Elizabeth House to anyone thinking of placing someone there.
Thank you for your positive review. The team at Queen Elizabeth House will continue to strive for the highest quality in all that we do for the residents in our care and trust that it meets with the wishes of their family and friends, alike.
The staff are very attentive and provide an excellent level of care to residents.
I am delighted that I choose this home for my mother to live in.
Her health and well-being has improved considerably since she arrived.
Thank you for your positive review. The team and I will continue to work towards maintaining the standard and quality which meets your mother and your satisfaction.
My Dad has been resident in Queen Elizabeth House for over a year. It has been a difficult time for staff, residents and relatives due to COVID and lockdowns. Despite this, Dad has consistently been very positive about the staff and how they help and respond to him. He is more than able to express his needs and preferences and the staff always try to do what he wishes. Staff are very good about letting us know if there are any medical issues and get the GP involved. Dad is an independent character who has always worked for himself. So the fact that he is so happy at Queen Elizabeth House is a testament to the caring and person-centred approach of the staff and management.
My father has been a resident of Queen Elizabeth House for about eight weeks, during that time the care and attention he has received from the staff at Queen Elizabeth House has been exceptional. They take care of his individual needs, taking into account is physical and mental needs. He is being cared for with care and compassion and treated as an individual with likes and dislikes. He himself, has nothing but praise for the staff at Queen Elizabeth House. I would thoroughly recommend Queen Elizabeth House to anyone looking to make the difficult decision to move a loved one into a care home. Thank you to the manager and all the staff at Queen Elizabeth House.
Thank you very much for your lovely review. It was an honour to care for your father and we are delighted to hear he enjoyed his stay at Queen Elizabeth House. We will share your kind comments with our staff.
My mother was a resident of Queen Elizabeth House for only eight weeks, but during that time she was looked after with care and compassion. Despite her dementia, Mum was treated as an individual with likes and dislikes. She praised the quality of her care, especially the standard of the meals! Queen Elizabeth House is run efficiently, and its administrative systems work smoothly. Overall, I would highly recommend Queen Elizabeth House.
Thank you for your kind words, it was a privilege to be able to care for your Mum and we are delighted she enjoyed her stay at Queen Elizabeth House.
The staff at Queen Elizabeth House are dedicated to the care of the residents. I know my Mum is in safe hands, being well fed and well cared for. Throughout the pandemic, they have coped really well with all the additional problems it has caused and done all they can to keep the residents healthy and happy.
Thank you Sue for your wonderful review. We will continue to maintain this standard with your mother and your input.

Meet the Team (4)

QEH is an award winning home which prides itself on the ethos that it is run ‘for the residents and by the residents’. The staff and the management team take pride in the knowledge that all residents regardless of their cognitive needs have a voice, choice and total control. The residents are actively involved in the management of the home from managing the main office, marketing the home, running the weekly shop, running daily film shows, interviewing staff, participating in catering committees, theatre groups, designing the garden, bathroom and all refurbishments within the home. Residents are empowered to lead the life of their choice, with support to maintain any likes, dislikes, hobbies and social needs and/or desires they might have.

I enjoy my job and being a part of the team. I have worked at the care home as Bookkeeper for seven and a half years. Outside of work, I enjoy going to the theatre, cinema, dancing, gardening, visiting museums and art galleries. I also like horse riding, spending time with my family and friends and going on holiday.

I have worked at Queen Elizabeth House for 16 years. I enjoy my role and like making the residents happy by meeting their individual needs and choices. It brings me pleasure to see a smile as they enjoy their meal or read the wonderful feedback they give. In my spare time I enjoy going to church, reading and walking.

I’ve been at Queen Elizabeth House for 20 years, not just involved with essential maintenance but all aspects and issues in support of the whole team. I like to know I’m helping older people to enjoy life to the full in a safe and happy environment. In my spare time I enjoy gardening and walking.
