My mother is not the easiest of residents because she is in the early stages of dementia and also has mobility issues (we definitely could no longer care for her at home). All of the staff at Spring Lane could not have been more caring or supportive, and my mother is genuinely much happier than she
was in her own home. This is a really well-run care home where everyone follows procedures, where they organise lots of interesting activities throughout the day, the family can visit whenever they like (including the dog!), the food is excellent, and they definitely do their best to match up to their stated aim of being a home from home. We can see that they meet a lot of different needs, and they accomplish this by treating everyone as an individual.

My relative had been a campaigner all her life and could be challenging in her old age. Over the six years she has been in the home, all the staff have treated her with respect, wisdom, patience and kindness, even when she was difficult. I have been consulted and informed in a good way. We are glad
that she has been in this home and grateful for all they have done.

My mother died at Spring Lane at the age of 101 in January 2023. She had been a resident since September 2019 and always received excellent care - notably throughout the Covid pandemic. She had kept remarkably well really until just before Christmas 2022. After Christmas, she gradually declined until
her death in January. There was nothing specifically wrong with her other than advanced old age and frailty. The end-of-life care she received in Spring Lane was superb. We agreed on a plan with the home that she would not be transferred to the hospital, and the home worked with my brother and me to ensure this was the case. This included the home enabling family to stay with her 24 hours a day for quite a long period. I cannot praise the care she received too highly - from her carers at Spring Lane and from the district nursing/end-of-life team.

It has only been a very short experience, but so far, I have found the staff as well as management understanding and helpful to both myself and my husband, who has experienced a very bad stroke, which has affected our lives to a great degree.

My mother has been a resident of Springdene Nursing & Care Homes Ltd for the past two years during which time she has received the best care we could possibly have hoped for. From management to the care staff, the professionalism and empathy of Springdene employees when dealing with the residents is

My wife became a dementia resident in June 2022. She settled in very quickly owing to the wonderful, warm welcome and kind understanding care she has received from the start. Both my parents have been cared for at Spring Lane at different times. They have had very differing needs, with one parent with dementia and the other with joint replacement respite. In both cases, they have been treated with kindness and respect. Clearly, the care team strive to do all they can to

I am really impressed with the individual care given at this home.
In our case, they have helped my mother settle in, have noticed when she is not her usual self and helped us get a timely and effective intervention.
In smaller details too, they have been so helpful, knowing her “shopping list” and
helping her wonderful hairdresser have access to their saloon so Mum can have her hair done just how she likes it.
Every time I visit, they are very welcoming and seek me out if there is anything particular they need me to think about with them.
I get prompt, kind and helpful responses to any queries by email or phone. They are a wonderful staff team, and we owe them a huge thank you.

My 93-year-old friend moved into Spring Lane in 2018, and it has been the perfect place for her. She settled in well from day one and continues to be very happy with the care and company she gets.
I visit on a regular basis. The staff are amazing and always very welcoming. I share Power of Attorney
with a member of my friend's family, and communications with Spring Lane are clear and frequent.
There are lots of activities available, and the residents are treated with great care and dignity.
There is no doubt that Spring Lane is one of the best residential homes in North London - if not the best.

The staff are wonderful. Always happy, smiling, and making you feel very welcome, nothing is too much of a problem for them. The facilities are kept to a very high standard. Very clean and well-maintained. Whenever I visit my stepmother is always washed and dressed in clean clothes, her hair done and
even has her lipstick on. Her personal care is excellent. There are lots of activities organised for any resident who wants to take part. She is very happy at Spring Lane and her quality of life has improved immensely since going into care.

My experience of Spring Lane has been very positive. I need to arrange some urgent respite care for my parents and the management team was responsive and accommodating of this request at short notice. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and the overall atmosphere as you arrive at Spring Lane is
tranquil and well-organised which immediately puts one at ease. My parents were looked after superbly and the carers are respectful and kind. Whilst they understand that the residents need some private time in their rooms, they encourage them to engage with other residents to feel part of the community at Spring Lane. My parents had lovely clean and comfortable rooms and a highlight of their stay was the outstanding meals which they enjoyed immensely.

Spring Lane was my mother’s home for nearly six years, from her becoming physically less able and being in a wheelchair until being bedbound and mentally less with us for the last 18 months of her life. Mum was comfortable and well cared for. Her room was always clean and tidy. The staff accommodated
her changing needs and treated her with dignity and empathy. They were always friendly and welcoming to the family when we visited and on the phone, always answering any concerns we had. Mum was unable to join the activities in later years, but the weekly programme always looked impressive. Mum returned to Spring Lane after a few days in the hospital for her end-of-life care, and the carers were happy to have her, again showing their sensitive consideration and great care. I can highly recommend Spring Lane.

Mum has been at Spring Lane Care Home for nearly two years now. We are very happy with the care she receives, and the staff are always very pleasant. Management is very approachable and acts quickly on any concerns that I may have.
I recently took a short break, and management made sure that I was
able to Skype mum while away, which really put my mind at rest as I could see she was being well cared for and that she was happy. The rooms and facilities are lovely and always kept clean and well-maintained. Thank you.

My mother has been in Spring Lane for a year. The staff are outstanding. They provide care with great kindness and are always considerate and attentive. The room and lounge are clean and looked after to a good standard. The food is high quality - it feels more like a hotel than a care home. Residents
are treated with dignity, and staff and management ensure that medical care is given as necessary. I fully recommend Spring Lane, and we are very happy with the care my mother receives.

We chose Spring Lane for our mum as it came recommended; we liked what we saw, and it offered end-of-life care. Mum spent her last four years there, and we weren't disappointed. She enjoyed the variety of activities laid on for residents and was kept active and entertained. Covid lockdowns were difficult,
but the staff did all they could to keep residents happy, healthy and entertained. They enabled us to stay in contact with Mum and meet with her when safe to do so. In the last year of her life, Mum grew frailer and was bed-bound for her last four months. Any concerns we had about Mum's increasing care needs were dealt with quickly, compassionately and effectively. Together, with the hospice care team, Mum and our family were given support at the end of her life. The day before she died, a musician sang for her in her room as she was not strong enough to join the sing-a-long downstairs. Mum died peacefully of old age, and we are very grateful to the caring Spring Lane 'family.'

I began my career in care when I was 16 via volunteering at the local older people’s lunch club. I knew from this time that I wanted to pursue a career in care and took a role as a carer for adults with learning disabilities whilst continuing with my volunteering role. When I moved to London I had the wonderful opportunity of being able to do a modern apprenticeship in a care home for older people. I knew straight away that I had found the ideal job for me.

I am passionate about ensuring people are cared for in the way they want, that promotes and enables them to live life as they would to choose to.

I have worked in various care homes in the charitable, local authority and private sector. I have been working at Spring Lane since 2013 and have never looked back, I have progressed from Carer to Unit Manager. Spring Lane really has a home-from-home atmosphere and a caring community spirit.

“I was a late joining the nursing profession and after a career in chemical manufacturing/processing, I decided to retrain as a registered nurse.


During my nurse training, I worked regular shifts as a care assistant in various care homes to both enhance my skills and support my family.


In 2008, I finally qualified as a registered nurse and worked on an acute medical ward, completed my preceptorship and built on my nursing skills and knowledge.


Although I enjoyed my time in a hospital ward, I missed the ‘community’ within a care home and decided to devote my career to supporting people who live in care homes, joining Springdene Group in 2014.


I am proud to work for Springdene Nursing and Care Homes, especially as staff, are committed to bringing joy and enrichment to residents' lives, and how each home has a unique identity and resident community.”
