It was a very difficult decision for My Mum to go into a care home, but the process was really helped by Mrs P & her lovely team. I was very concerned that it would be a difficult transition for her.
Mum settled really quickly and is so happy at St Theresa's, so much so that when any of her family visit it is only a short while before she is telling them they can go now! It makes them smile.
Mum is very content and it's almost like she loves the staff more than her own family now, which makes me happy and sad at the same time.
The staff are so lovely, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble, they're so patient with the residents & there is a lot of camaraderie amongst them.
St Theresa's is a very nice environment & I have peace of mind that my mum needs are being met.

Thanks Mrs P & your team.

We took the very difficult decision to place Mum in a care home. We delayed for as long as possible believing we were letting her down. We had to accept the reality that we were no longer coping with Mum's 24/7 needs. It was a bitter pill to swallow.
However, my younger sister had devoted the last six years of her life to firstly looking after both our parents and then our mother. Our father's death was more than Mum could cope with and the Dementia escalated rapidly. It was time to find a local facility that would be able to cope and that met our high expectations for our beloved Mum.
Our great aunt spent her final years at St. Theresa's - as did a dear friend of ours.
There was only one choice as far as we were concerned: St. Theresa's Rest Home.

The doctor visits regularly, blood tests are performed, her medication is organised, she loves the food, has her radio in her lovely room, garden is beautiful, hair cut, nails trimmed. Very tolerant staff.

It has been a pleasure to care for your great aunt, your dear friend, and now your mum. Before becoming a resident, your mum used to sing for our residents, and even now, despite her dementia, she still delights us all with her beautiful operatic voice.

Thank you for your kind words, and your continued trust and support.

Even though it was a really hard time for us to concede that our lovely mum had to move into full time care the transition at St Theresa's Care Home in Bush Hill Park could not have been easier. Care and attention has gone into creating a warm and welcoming environment for residents and the owners are incredibly friendly and approachable. One of the standout aspects is the team of permanent staff. Their consistency truly makes a difference, and they show kindness, patience, and familiarity that brings real comfort. Mum was always a terrible fussy eater but she thoroughly enjoys the home cooked food. Mum's room is comfortable and it is gleaming at all times. She is always well presented with her hair and clothes always being neat and tidy. Overall, St Theresa's is a fantastic care home that combines professionalism with a genuine, homely feel. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality care in a supportive and caring environment.

Thank you Emma, for your kind words. Your mum is a lovely lady, and it is a pleasure to have her with us. We are delighted that she is so happy and content and that she enjoys her meals so much. She always takes great pride in her appearance and is very observant of what everyone else is wearing, which often brings a smile to us all.

My Dad has recently moved to St Theresa's Rest Home.
I can honestly say right from the initial visit the care my dad has received has been wonderful in every aspect . I have been to visit dad every day over the last 3 weeks whilst here on holiday .
The atmosphere is always calm and reassuring . The fresh home cooked food is varied and of good standard . I sometimes walk in the garden with dad which is always relaxing and pretty.
The residents all appear comfortable , happy and very well looked after. Every staff member I have interacted with has always been very friendly and so caring to every resident I see which is a reflection on the way the management run the care home .

I would highly recommend St Theresa's Rest Home for anyone looking for quality care of a loved one .

My mother was a resident at St Theresa's Rest Home for a year. During that time I found she had excellent care there, her meals were always freshly prepared, the staff were very friendly and consistent. The management were always available to help and answer any questions we had. The home in general is not like a care home, but has the feel and atmosphere of a home from home. I would not hesitate to recommend St Theresas Rest Home to anyone needing residential care either for themselves or a loved one. It truly is an outstanding place.

My elderly mother has advanced Alzheimer's and over the years her behaviour has been unpredictable and sometimes difficult, but she has always been shown patience, kindness, consideration and respect from her carers.
She is always well presented, appropriately dressed, her hair neat and tidy, and I love that her skin is well moisturised.
Mum's health is carefully monitored with ready access to a doctor when needed and her medications are kept under review.
We are kept well-informed and consulted on every aspect of her care.

I have many commitments, but I feel very fortunate that at St Theresa's, they are flexible and I am able to visit, often with very little notice.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Helen. When she first came to us six years ago she had mild dementia. As her dementia progressed, we are pleased that we could support her in a way that kept her comfortable and well cared for. A truly remarkable and capable lady, and it is a honour for all of us to be part of her journey.

Mum moved into St Theresa's in November 2023, having been cared for at home until her dementia progressed to a point where she needed round the clock support and daily access to medical care. As a family, we resisted the idea at first because it felt as though we were giving up on our responsibilities and abandoning her. In reality, it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Thanks to the personal care and support she received from the wonderful, kind and compassionate staff at St Theresa's, mum quickly felt at home. We could see this every time visited or picked her up for outings. The warmth of the environment and the genuine affection shown to her made an enormous difference to her quality of life. Along with home cooked meals as well as a range of in-house activities to keep residents engaged, St Theresa's is definitely worth considering.

St Theresa's was recommended to us by a former district nurse.
By the time mum became a resident over two years ago her dementia was already quite advanced. Despite this she settled in very quickly thanks to the reassuring kindness, patience and support from the exceptional carers.

Mum has always been content and clearly well looked after. We would happily recommend St Theresa's for your loved one.

Putting my auntie in a care home was a very difficult decision for our family but it was one we could no longer avoid.
We found the care home ourselves, as we were not happy with the ones the council had found for my auntie.
Upon reviewing the care home we were greeted with kindness and positivity.
We were initially apprehensive about my auntie fitting in and comfortably communicating her needs with the team as she did not speak any English (Kurdish is her first language) and has learning difficulties. However the team were so kind and helped her adjust to her new surroundings easily.

We feel very lucky to have placed our auntie in such a caring and compassionate home. Whenever she has any needs be it simple/complex or health related the team have always been brilliant at communicating with us. We can visit her whenever we want and can see she is very happy here.

Mum has been a resident of St Theresa's for just over a year now. On admission she had recently had a serious stomach operation, her dementia was rapidly getting worse and she was increasingly frail.
From the first interview with the friendly, professional owners we knew this well furnished and welcoming home would suit Mum. It is small and more like a family house, the owners and staff are all long standing. The nutrition is excellent, there is a large variety of meals and Mum's dietary requirements are well catered for. Mum's room is pretty and always spotless. The Covid pod and garden are good for visitors. Staff are friendly and caring. Communication is excellent and the managers always let us know immediately if there is a problem or any change in Mum's needs.

The home has different areas and activities and Mum is nicely dressed whenever we see her, seems content, has put on weight and is consequently less frail. I highly recommend St Theresa's.

My elderly relative had been a resident of St Theresa's Rest Home for nearly 15 years by the time of his death. When he first became a resident he was becoming quite confused; the sad story of dementia. The staff at St Theresa's were excellent and really knew him and cared for him as a valued resident. They were always professional, friendly, caring and interested in him, gradually adjusting the excellent care, but never diminishing it, as his dementia increased. His care plan was thorough and regularly reviewed, with regular visits from health care professionals. Consequently, his physical health always remained very good. The Rest Home was excellent at keeping in touch and informing me of any changes to his condition or care needs. I was especially grateful for,and impressed by, their compassionate and supportive manner in his last few months.

The Rest Home is homely and warm with comfortable rooms, a lovely garden and garden room, and I always felt welcomed when I visited.

Mum spent her final year at St Theresa's where she was cared for wonderfully by the manager and the lovely team. All the staff are attentive and truly caring, making sure to get to know the personalities and individual needs of the residents, and interacting with a bright and positive energy to bring a smile to Mum's face. Nutrition is prioritized and food is all home cooked with healthy, healing ingredients in mind. Mum was always clean and fresh whenever I visited her and her bedroom was cosy and homely. Communication was excellent, the manager or one staff member in particular were always in touch promptly if they felt a doctor was required or any changes needed to be discussed - they were both always so friendly, and took the time to sit and chat with me too and talk about Mum on my visits which I really appreciated! I'd highly recommend St Theresa's for it's calm and peaceful environment and it's home-from-home feel.

My mother resided at st Theresa's for 3 years. Mum had dementia and other medical complications , the excellent care she received at the home was second to none. St Theresa's is run in a homely caring manner with regular staff which is of vital importance when your loved ones are struggling with dementia and memories. Mum had a close relationship with all of the staff, who are patient and caring. I found the practical aspects of managing mums stay very smooth and professional, with good advice from management. Also the outside professionals who helped maintain mums health and well being , have continuous excellent working relationships with st Theresa's. Mum passed away recently and I will forever be grateful for the love care and support both mum and our extended family received from the home. The home is very clean comfortable and welcoming and housekeeping and cooking of a very high standard. Mum had difficulty eating towards the end and staff were flexible and accommodating .

My mother is starting her fourth year at St.Theresa's Rest Home and she has been very happy there. The staff are friendly and helpful, the managers are very hands on ready to help in anyway. If I have any concerns about my mum they are happy to answer any questions. Her room is always clean and tidy and mum always looks well cared for. My mum can be difficult at times and the staff are very understanding and patient with her. Whenever mum is unwell they ring me and let me now how she is and that they are going to ring the doctor. I would recommend the home to anyone who was looking for a place for a family member to be looked after.

My mother has been a resident at St Theresa's for nearly seventeen years. She has just celebrated her 103rd birthday. In all this time her care has been excellent. She has been treated with kindness and patience by everyone involved in the running of the home. Mum always looks clean and well cared for. There is a lovely homely atmosphere. Many activities are arranged by the staff and outside professionals to stimulate the residents both physically and mentally. The food is home-cooked and efforts are made to cater for personal preferences.
All the staff are approachable and willing to discuss any concerns. Very quick to seek medical help when necessary.
When my mother was told by the hospital that she should go into residential care I was given no help in finding a suitable home.

I am so glad that St Theresa's had a vacancy at that time. I can't fault their care.

Mum went to St Theresa's in February 2022 and was there for two years. I looked at a lot of homes before deciding on St Theresa's but my mind was made up after my first visit. The owners sat with me answering my questions in a full and honest manner and it was evident they were committed to running a home I wanted Mum to be in. My first impression and lasting one is that St Theresa's is definitely a home-from-home. It is cosy and homely and always felt like I was visiting a real home, not a care home. The staff were always kind and considerate and although Mum could be difficult at times they treated her with respect and ensured she maintained her dignity. Mum was always clean and respectable when I visited and her personal care was impeccable. The owner always had time for me when I needed to discuss something and I can honestly say that she helped me through some difficult times as well as Mum. If you are looking for a home for someone you love, look no further than St Theresa's.

My mother-in-law was admitted in February 2021. She had requested to go into residential care, and St Theresa's seemed the perfect fit.
We were very pleased with how she settled in, making some friendships with other residents and the staff were most caring and attentive to her various physical, mental and social needs.
Lockdown rules were very strictly enforced, but we were able to speak to her on the phone and see her in the conservatory from the garden. While this made her settling in a little more difficult, we were very reassured by the desire to keep residents and staff safe. Later we were able to visit in a side room, while still observing lockdown rules.
The home invested in a lovely garden room, where we could see her once Covid restrictions eased. This made for privacy and a nice view of the garden. The home offered various activities, which sometimes participated in, though less toward the end.

We are very satisfied with St Theresa's level of care.

St Theresa's is such a lovely home from home. I was worried about entering my mother as she has always taken care of herself and is a very independent woman. However, the manageress made the transition so easy, with brilliant help to me in this case. It took her a while but she settled, she was a bit stubborn at first, but the staff have been wonderful and she now regards it as home. The home is lovely, the rooms are airy and bright and the garden is beautiful. One lady is a treasure and the manageress right-hand woman. If there are any health problems, they sort things out promptly. The food is all cooked fresh every day, and though my mother is stubborn with her eating, they ensure she he's the nutrition she needs. The staff are so kind and patient with her, Mum likes a laugh, and the staff enjoy her wit. We love going to visit there, as it's a smaller home it's so nice getting to know the staff. We are so happy she's settled into a lovely home for her twilight years.
