I arranged to visit The Donnington Care Home on behalf of my 102-year-old mother who recently went into a home but was not happy there. The Donnington staff were excellent in helping me to decide on the move plus the home is a lot more suitable/homely. All staff have been very friendly and helpful, so very happy overall.

My name is Tania and I am the home manager at The Donnington.
I started at The Donnington as a care assistant in 2007. I went on to complete my NVQ3 and soon became a team leader and subsequently, a medication trained senior carer. I then became deputy manager and after 5 years in that role and gaining my assistant practitioner diploma level 5, I became the home manager.
I have worked in care for many years. When I was younger and at school, we used to visit a care home and do activities with the residents - that’s when I knew I wanted to work in care and make a career working with older adults.
I enjoy working in care as I love seeing the difference we make to our residents' days. It makes me happy to see the residents smile and I enjoy listening to their life stories. At The Donnington, we have an amazing team of staff.
I am married and I have a cat called TJ. I have a keen interest in classic cars, and I own a 1950 Triumph 1300FWD, called Bluebell. My husband and I attend many car shows around the south area. I also have a passion for the sea, and I love nothing better than going to the coast and sitting by the sea with a coffee.
I live about 5 mins away from the Donnington, so I am always to hand when the staff need me.
