My mother was admitted to Boulters Lock Residential home August 2015, she has settled extremely well and is very happy in her new home. My sister and I are very happy to see her so content and no longer experiencing episodes of distress. She is eating well, has lots of new friends and no longer feels
isolated and alone. We are very pleased and happy with the care she is receiving in the home. The staff are all very kind and she feels safe. I would recommend this home to anyone.

My father went into Boulters Lock in August of this year after almost a year of trying to keep him at home after my mothers passing in 2014. dad was becoming more and more distressed at home and us as a family worried about his safety. We as a family decided to put him into Boulters initially as respite
whilst I was on holiday but he settled so well he has stayed there. He is now happy and relaxed that bothy his general health and mental health has improved greatly. We as a family cannot thank the staff enough for taking such good care of dad and ultimately making both his and our lives so much easier. Thank you.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Boulters, who work hard to provide such caring support to the residents. My father has been a resident for five years now and the care has been adapted to take into account his increasing frailness and needs. The food continues to be excellent and the activities
have been more varied and of a higher quality recently, resulting in a lovely ambience among the residents who have benefitted.

My husband is well looked after and everyone is so friendly and caring, it is nice to visit. I am always made very welcome, it is like coming home! The staff are always happy and nothing is too much trouble. A wonderful home.

Both my mum and dad moved into Boulters Lock about a month ago and I can't speak highly enough of the incredible care they have already received from the staff at this fabulous home. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always treated with love, kindness and respect.


All my family have been made

incredibly welcome whenever we visit the home. We're always greeted positively by one of the team (not sure how they manage to find such lovely staff) and we've been made to feel that Boulters Lock is truly a 'home' for us all where we can relax and enjoy time with our parents.


The food is excellent (again we've frequently joined them for meals) and the restaurant area has a lovely relaxed feel with music playing and chatty, funny staff engaging with the residents in a caring fashion at all times.


The bedrooms are well equipped and beautifully furnished I have no doubt they will love being out in the big garden area in the spring when it's a little warmer.


I have witnessed lots of fun activities taking place with the residents - singing, baking, ball games, bingo etc and mum has been out in the garden helping to plant bulbs with some of the team. They are currently rehearsing for the Christmas Carol singalong.


My brothers and I had visited a number of other homes before choosing Boulters Lock and selected it over the others because of the lovely, happy welcoming feel of the place at each of our visits. Our experience in this first month has more than exceeded our expectations.


I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a safe and happy home.

I have had a friend with mixed Alzheimer's and dementia in Boulters Lock Residential Home for well over a year. I visit her regularly and am always struck by the friendliness, ease and warmth which surround the residents. They are treated gently but firmly when needed. Within the secure premises they
are free to wonder safely, join in the activities or stay in their room. The staff have their allocated positions but all seem willing to lend a hand in a cheerful way. Communication could sometimes be improved when I phone before taking our friend out to make sure she is ready, the message does not always seems to be relayed to the right person.

The staff are all very friendly and communication between them appears good. If they do not know an answer that immediately go and ask. The kitchen staff and cleaning staff are very much a part of the team and know who's who. I have been very impressed with one care assistant who is alert to medical
needs and emergencies no matter when they occur. The under manager always responds promptly to emails and finds time in her busy schedule to discuss matters. My concerns are that the bedroom carpet and bedside surface do not always appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. Secondly that visits to surgeries and hospitals are not automatically covered by the home.

The are great with dad and they know how to keep him as happy as possible. He trusts them and treats them like family. They are very welcoming when we visit and I feel very comfortable with mum going in there. It is kept clean and they go out of their way to keep dad as comfortable as possible. They've
taken him out a lot this year which we really appreciate as we cant do that anymore. His behaviour has improved and we are very grateful that we never have to worry about him as he's well looked after.

Mum really enjoys living at Boulters Lock Care Home. It is lovely seeing her joining in with all the activities and she loves being taken out on outings with the staff. We are always made welcome by staff when we visit. We thought she would spend a lot of time in her room but she has made so many new
friends, her social life has never been so good.

We have found this residential home very well run and very friendly. The staff here are very helpful and kind to all of the residents. One of the managers is always available to speak to if we have any questions or worries we might have. We would recommend Boulters Lock very highly to anyone who is

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2009

Hi,


I'm Ashleigh and I started my care journey at Boulters Lock in 2009, working as a kitchen assistant.


My career progressed into the role of care assistant, then on to senior care assistant - during which time I completed my NVQ 3. In December 2022 I was promoted to the position as Deputy Manager, and worked towards completing my NVQ 5.


Since becoming Home Manager I have been working alongside the team to achieve new goals and improve the service we provide to our residents.


I aim to ensure residents have a smile on their faces and are kept safe.
