The deputy manager is a delight.
She is so friendly both with patients and their friends and relatives.
When anything is required she is really helpful.

I gather she is leaving and think everyone will miss her immensely.

We visit this home once a month from Somerset to see my two sisters in laws who are residents.
We always get a very friendly welcome from the staff.
It will be a very big loss to the home when the deputy manager leaves next month.
She is always very ready to talk to you about anything you want to know about your family who are so well looked after there.
We would recommend this home to anybody who is looking to have family looked after.

They are treated with love and respect, I cannot praise them enough doing a hard job.

I have been very happy with my stay here. The staff are lovely and it's such a friendly place to be in. I've made a great friend here and the residents are nice too. I've only been staying for a short time and I feel it's done me a good job being with company, as I struggled living on my own.

I'm feeling much better than I did. The reason I came here is because I was waiting until my flat was ready to move into. I had no idea what it was like living in a care home, but this one didn't disappoint. If I could not longer care for myself, then Boulters Lock would be the one I would choose.

In late June nearly my 91 year old mother had to undergo surgery for the first time in her life, a mastectomy of her breast. The staff have all been good with exception being the deputy manager and senior carers who were excellent. We are pleased our mother is making such good progress and seems very comfortable. Thank you to all your staff!!!

We are very pleased that our grandmother has settled in so well since coming to live at Boulters care home in March. All of the staff seem friendly and attentive. The overall level of care in our opinion is excellent.

My sister has always been very independent and is in denial about her dementia so she resents the lack of freedom which is an inevitable part of being in a care home. However the staff understand how she feels and treat her with great sensitivity and patience, so she is now settling in happily. She enjoys the food very much, loves her room and sleeps well and is looking so much better physically now. I am really pleased, most of all she loves the daily activities which she finds great fun. She enjoys her daily walks in the garden too. She tells me she is in a "nice new club" and is getting to know the other "members".

My mother was admitted to Boulters Lock Residential home August 2015, she has settled extremely well and is very happy in her new home. My sister and I are very happy to see her so content and no longer experiencing episodes of distress. She is eating well, has lots of new friends and no longer feels isolated and alone. We are very pleased and happy with the care she is receiving in the home. The staff are all very kind and she feels safe. I would recommend this home to anyone.

My father went into Boulters Lock in August of this year after almost a year of trying to keep him at home after my mothers passing in 2014. dad was becoming more and more distressed at home and us as a family worried about his safety. We as a family decided to put him into Boulters initially as respite whilst I was on holiday but he settled so well he has stayed there. He is now happy and relaxed that bothy his general health and mental health has improved greatly. We as a family cannot thank the staff enough for taking such good care of dad and ultimately making both his and our lives so much easier. Thank you.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Boulters, who work hard to provide such caring support to the residents. My father has been a resident for five years now and the care has been adapted to take into account his increasing frailness and needs. The food continues to be excellent and the activities have been more varied and of a higher quality recently, resulting in a lovely ambience among the residents who have benefitted.

Both my mum and dad moved into Boulters Lock about a month ago and I can't speak highly enough of the incredible care they have already received from the staff at this fabulous home. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always treated with love, kindness and respect.

All my family have been made incredibly welcome whenever we visit the home. We're always greeted positively by one of the team (not sure how they manage to find such lovely staff) and we've been made to feel that Boulters Lock is truly a 'home' for us all where we can relax and enjoy time with our parents.

The food is excellent (again we've frequently joined them for meals) and the restaurant area has a lovely relaxed feel with music playing and chatty, funny staff engaging with the residents in a caring fashion at all times.

The bedrooms are well equipped and beautifully furnished I have no doubt they will love being out in the big garden area in the spring when it's a little warmer.

I have witnessed lots of fun activities taking place with the residents - singing, baking, ball games, bingo etc and mum has been out in the garden helping to plant bulbs with some of the team. They are currently rehearsing for the Christmas Carol singalong.

My brothers and I had visited a number of other homes before choosing Boulters Lock and selected it over the others because of the lovely, happy welcoming feel of the place at each of our visits. Our experience in this first month has more than exceeded our expectations.

I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a safe and happy home.

The staff are all very friendly and communication between them appears good. If they do not know an answer that immediately go and ask. The kitchen staff and cleaning staff are very much a part of the team and know who's who. I have been very impressed with one care assistant who is alert to medical needs and emergencies no matter when they occur. The under manager always responds promptly to emails and finds time in her busy schedule to discuss matters. My concerns are that the bedroom carpet and bedside surface do not always appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. Secondly that visits to surgeries and hospitals are not automatically covered by the home.

I have had a friend with mixed Alzheimer's and dementia in Boulters Lock Residential Home for well over a year. I visit her regularly and am always struck by the friendliness, ease and warmth which surround the residents. They are treated gently but firmly when needed. Within the secure premises they are free to wonder safely, join in the activities or stay in their room. The staff have their allocated positions but all seem willing to lend a hand in a cheerful way. Communication could sometimes be improved when I phone before taking our friend out to make sure she is ready, the message does not always seems to be relayed to the right person.

The are great with dad and they know how to keep him as happy as possible. He trusts them and treats them like family. They are very welcoming when we visit and I feel very comfortable with mum going in there. It is kept clean and they go out of their way to keep dad as comfortable as possible. They've taken him out a lot this year which we really appreciate as we cant do that anymore. His behaviour has improved and we are very grateful that we never have to worry about him as he's well looked after.

Mum really enjoys living at Boulters Lock Care Home. It is lovely seeing her joining in with all the activities and she loves being taken out on outings with the staff. We are always made welcome by staff when we visit. We thought she would spend a lot of time in her room but she has made so many new friends, her social life has never been so good.

Hi,

I'm Ashleigh and I started my care journey at Boulters Lock in 2009, working as a kitchen assistant.

My career progressed into the role of care assistant, then on to senior care assistant - during which time I completed my NVQ 3. In December 2022 I was promoted to the position as Deputy Manager, and worked towards completing my NVQ 5.

Since becoming Home Manager I have been working alongside the team to achieve new goals and improve the service we provide to our residents.

I aim to ensure residents have a smile on their faces and are kept safe.

We look forward to seeing you at Boulters Lock!
