My uncle has been a resident for 2 years and every time that we visit we are impressed with the home. The staff are always caring and friendly and the building is clean and fresh smelling. On the last visit, we had lunch in the restaurant with uncle which was lovely. Good food, private alcove and warm,
friendly service.

Our mother was a resident for over 2 years until her death in December 2018. She arrived for respite care and after 2 weeks decided she wanted to stay. As frequent visitors, my sister and I were always impressed with how staff treated the residents with care and affection. Mum was very happy there.
They seemed to accommodate everyone's differing needs and foibles. It is a happy home.

My mother was a resident at Boulters Lock Care Home for some 4 years and 4 months suffering from severe dementia and she sadly passed away on January 6th at the age of nearly 94.
I visited the care home regularly to see my mother and was always impressed with the professional environment and the warmth
of all the staff.


The care home was always clean and well run and all residents were looked after with compassion and whatever support they needed and always with gentle humour from the magnificent staff.


My mother was also incontinent but was always showered and dressed each day. She was very happy with her room and the communal area downstairs where activities were provided each day, often including singers to entertain and there were Family Days organised to include relatives. The summer garden barbeques were very popular. The chef prepared excellent meals each day.
The manager's door was always open to sit and have a chat. I would recommend Boulters Lock without hesitation.

My brothers and I were very impressed with the care given to our mum - and also to us. We were always made welcome and when we sat with Mum, cups of tea and cake would often arrive for us as well.
Mum initially came for respite but when it became apparent that she could not return home, both she and
us were given lots of support to help us make a decision about the next step.
Mum passed away in the home- only 8 months after Dad had passed away in hospital. Dad was also cared for well, but the difference with Mum was very marked. It really was the next best thing to passing away at home. The atmosphere was caring and homely and we were given all the time, space - and refreshments that we needed. Caring, homely and professional- a difficult combination to get right but the staff did.
I can’t praise the staff enough - representatives even came to Mum’s celebration service back in her home village- 30 miles from Maidenhead. Thank you from us all.

Generally, we are very pleased with all aspects of the care home. It does have areas that need improving but the positives and negatives are all discussed in open meetings and addressed as required - honesty and open discussion are always welcomed.

On arrival, we had fresh hospitality and were warmly welcomed. We were put in a lovely room overlooking the lovely garden.
It was lunchtime and the manager placed us at once in a larger dining area with the other residents a new table was laid and water was brought in. The head chef gave us two choices
of meat and we sat down with my mother's sister. All the staff are very warm and helpful they cant be more helpful.

My mother has been a resident at Boulters Lock Residential Home for more than 3 years. Over that time she has been happy and settled in a warm, safe and homely environment. The care she receives is of a high standard delivered with kindness and respect by staff who are always willing to go the extra
mile to help and support her. The home is well organised and runs smoothly from day to day. Relatives can visit when they want and are always made to feel welcome and involved. There are opportunities for residents to undertake a variety of daily activities and the meals provided are nutritious of a high standard and include a good range of menus.
As a relative with a loved one living at Boulters Lock, I would highly recommend it and I feel confident that my mother is in safe, caring hands.

I had an operation on 7th June - a hemithyroidectomy and came from the hospital for two weeks respite to convalesce. I could not have chosen a better place and remembered that the mum of some friends had been in the same home several years ago and had been really happy.


I have only praise for all

the staff. They were wonderful. Cleanliness was very good. Home cooked food which I really enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble. All I had to do was to recuperate after my operation. I was very lucky the sun shone every day. The house and garden were a joy and I would just sit and relax at the table under the umbrella.


The second week, they had the mini bus for the week and went out every day which I really enjoyed.


For me, a very happy experience.

Boulters Lock Residential Home provides a happy and caring environment for their residents. The home itself is tastefully decorated and always spotless.
Members of staff are always cheerful and available to assist if required. Communication is excellent - I am always kept up to date with information
relating to our resident.
Food is freshly prepared and is served in a lovely dining room - tables set with table cloths and fresh flowers. A range of daily activities are provided (a diary of events provided for residents to choose from).
I have been extremely happy with the service provided and would highly recommend this home.

The deputy manager is a delight.
She is so friendly both with patients and their friends and relatives.

We visit this home once a month from Somerset to see my two sisters in laws who are residents.
We always get a very friendly welcome from the staff.
It will be a very big loss to the home when the deputy manager leaves next month.
She is always very ready to talk to you about anything you want to
know about your family who are so well looked after there.
We would recommend this home to anybody who is looking to have family looked after.
They are treated with love and respect, I cannot praise them enough doing a hard job.

I have been very happy with my stay here. The staff are lovely and it's such a friendly place to be in. I've made a great friend here and the residents are nice too. I've only been staying for a short time and I feel it's done me a good job being with company, as I struggled living on my own.
I'm feeling
much better than I did. The reason I came here is because I was waiting until my flat was ready to move into. I had no idea what it was like living in a care home, but this one didn't disappoint. If I could not longer care for myself, then Boulters Lock would be the one I would choose.

In late June nearly my 91 year old mother had to undergo surgery for the first time in her life, a mastectomy of her breast. The staff have all been good with exception being the deputy manager and senior carers who were excellent. We are pleased our mother is making such good progress and seems very

My sister has always been very independent and is in denial about her dementia so she resents the lack of freedom which is an inevitable part of being in a care home. However the staff understand how she feels and treat her with great sensitivity and patience, so she is now settling in happily. She
enjoys the food very much, loves her room and sleeps well and is looking so much better physically now. I am really pleased, most of all she loves the daily activities which she finds great fun. She enjoys her daily walks in the garden too. She tells me she is in a "nice new club" and is getting to know the other "members".

Hi,


I'm Ashleigh and I started my care journey at Boulters Lock in 2009, working as a kitchen assistant.


My career progressed into the role of care assistant, then on to senior care assistant - during which time I completed my NVQ 3. In December 2022 I was promoted to the position as Deputy Manager, and worked towards completing my NVQ 5.


Since becoming Home Manager I have been working alongside the team to achieve new goals and improve the service we provide to our residents.


I aim to ensure residents have a smile on their faces and are kept safe.
