I have been visiting Boulters Lock Care Home for over two years and they look after the residents so well, they have excellent meals, entertainment and they spend a lot of time thinking of how to improve the individual needs of the people they care for. I am so happy that we chose Boulters Lock for my brother and I would recommend it to anybody! All of the staff are amazing but the manager and deputy manager are so thoughtful and professional and caring that I am just very grateful for all that they and all of the other staff do for him.

Boulter's Lock Care Home has been caring for my mother for around 5-years now. She is happy, safe and well cared for there. It has clearly been a very difficult year because of the Pandemic, but the staff and management at Boulters deserve praise for their proactive management of the situation and for keeping their residents safe during this period, whilst facilitating contact with family members as well as could be hoped for.

When looking for a care home for my mum, we heard about Boulters Lock care home through a friend of my daughters. From the moment we got in touch, it felt right. The manager went above and beyond to make the whole experience of putting my mum into a care home not so difficult. The place itself has such a homely feel about it. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for my mum, as in hindsight, she wasn’t quite ready for residential care and is now living in a retirement complex. When the time comes for her to need full-time care, I wouldn’t hesitate in taking her back to Boulters Lock.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback about Boulters Lock. We are delighted you were pleased with the way we dealt with your enquiry regarding your mum's welfare. We hope she is happy in her new retirement complex and we do look forward to welcoming you both into the Boulters Lock family when the time is right.

As my wife has only been a resident for 11 or 12 days it is too early for me to contribute as much as I would like to this review. However, I have been very impressed with the care and attention given by the staff to the well being of my wife and despite the restrictions of lockdown etc to their welcoming me as a visitor at this stressful period of time. I am also impressed by the professionalism of the manager and of her management team.
I found the atmosphere to be very homely, warm and welcoming in which my wife should feel comfortable and hopefully enable her to settle down quite quickly. Her room is nice and overlooks the front garden.

She will need encouragement to walk better and also to participate in activities but I feel sure the staff will do all they can in this respect.

My lovely mum was a resident at Boulters Lock Residential Home in Maidenhead for 6 years. This really was her home and as a family, we were all made to feel this way, we really were all part of a big family and as such my mum was given the love and care she would as if she was with us. Nothing was ever too much and everyone who worked there from the kitchen to maintenance and housekeeping and the care staff all took a part in my mum's care right to the very end of her life.

The staff are all outstanding and their ability to show love, compassion and respect to their frail residents goes way beyond their job description. During the last nine months of restrictions due to covid 19, the situation was handled so admirably by the management and staff and we knew as a family our mum was being loved and cared for in our absence and as she was during her final days.

Our mother was a resident at Boulters Lock Residential Home for almost six years until she passed away in October this year. From our very first conversation with Boulters, we found the staff at every level to be understanding, kind and empathic. The home has a very homely feel and the relatively small size allows for every resident to be viewed as an individual and to receive the personalised care they need. Many of the staff have worked at the home for a long time and we really appreciated the relationships that we built with all of them. Our mother suffered from dementia and received consistently high-quality care throughout the time she was at Boulters. In the early years the company and entertainment provided helped her sustain her mental faculties while in the latter years, as she required more intensive personal care, the team at Boulters responded with expertise, kindness and compassion, enabling her to stay in comfortable familiar surroundings till the end.

My Mother went to Boulters on a respite basis at the end of December 2019 following some previous holiday visits. She so enjoyed it there and so well cared for. Then covid came and we all went into lockdown and she stayed at Boulters as nicer for her to have 24hr care and company. Sadly she died this morning not of covid but an infection. I cannot explain how special and important the care she received was - it made all the difference in the world to both her and me. When she was well she had fun and enjoyed it and during her final days, she was respected, loved and cared for. What more can one ask for their dearest Mother.

My mother was resident at Boulters Lock for three years until she died in August 2020. She suffered from dementia and was no longer able to be cared for at home. From the start the care she received at Boulters Lock was outstanding and her anxieties quickly melted away.
Never one to engage in group activities she became an active participant - I particularly remember her joining in singing and dancing. She celebrated her 100th birthday under COVID-19 restrictions but the Boulters team ensured it was a special day. We joined her party via Zoom to see her wheeled out into the garden and watched as she opened and enjoyed her card from the Queen.
In her last few weeks, Boulters staff worked closely with the medical team to ensure a peaceful end.

Mum was very well cared for and I had complete confidence in the Boulters staff. In particular, I want to commend the management team - it cannot be easy to run a care home but they coped admirably with all the many challenges that arose.

My mum has been living here for nearly two years. One of the reasons I chose Boulters Lock was the lovely accessible garden. Although my mum's needs have changed over time, the care provided by the staff has always been tailored to her meet her needs. I feel they know her as well as I do which is reassuring. They know her favourite songs and what makes her smile. The staff are friendly and welcoming to relatives so it feels very much like mum is in her own home and I can pop in at any time. Although, due to the Coronavirus I have not seen my mum in person for two months, the staff provide updates, photos and I know I can telephone or video call her.

Mum was approved to move to Boulters Lock Residential Home on 1st April after spending a month in hospital with a rapid onset of dementia. Although we haven't been able to go into the home since she arrived, the staff have been fantastic in letting us see mum at the door, video calls whenever we want and take any of her belongings to her, albeit we leave them for the carers to take in (Coronavirus). Couldn't fault them, to be honest.

We were looking for a homely home, with very loving caring people to look after our Mam, for a couple of weeks respite, with a view of perm residence and we found this lovely home. From the first phone call to meeting the staff, we could hear and see how caring they are and how well Mam would be looked after, they have kept me informed and reassured me of Mams progress and how she has settled in. This has been very hard for us to make this decision but knowing that Mam is in really loving hands really helps us.

I have just had my mother here for two weeks. The only reason she has moved is because we are in Reading and this is a bit too far out. Management and staff are excellent. The interaction they have with the residents is phenomenal. They do games, cooking, singing etc. They are flat out from morning until night. My mum seemed so much more alive after two weeks. I think I will be bringing her back. Excellent job everyone!
