Her room is spacious and everyone is always happy to help and assist in any way in making her feel at home.
She has regularly visitors, including Great Grandchildren and they are always made to feel very welcome whatever time they visit, with tea and biscuits offered.
Regular activities and trips out locally have helped in making her time there so far, varied and busy.
All the staff are exceptional with first class care for my Mum, always helping her in every aspect of her care with patience and respect.
The home made meals made on site and set in a lovely dining room are delicious, and which my Mum thoroughly enjoys.
Thank you Pat, Michelle and the whole team at Tickford for helping to make it such a happy and safe place for my Mum to live.

Having a loved one with Alzheimer's isn't easy, but whenever we have any concerns, the staff are always available to talk through any issues and help Dad. That gives the family real peace of mind, fully believing that Tickford has his best interests at heart.
Thank you Lee for taking the time to write your review. I will ensure the review is pass on for the team to read.
My dad has been a resident at Tickford Abbey for 2 years and the care he receives here is outstanding. All of the staff here are so kind, caring, respectful and friendly. My dad has dementia and finds even simple tasks very difficult but the staff are so understanding and patient with him and nothing is too much trouble. There is a real friendly feel at Tickford and whenever we visit, we are always made to feel welcome. There is always a member of staff available to speak to should we need to discuss anything regarding my dad. There is great attention to detail in everything they do at Tickford to ensure the residents are happy here and to ensure their wellbeing, from the excellent nutritional and varied meal options to a great variety of activities so everyone is considered. Knowing that my dad is being so well cared for at Tickford gives our family great peace of mind. We would highly recommend.

My father has been a resident at Tickford for over 12 months. He has both dementia and mental health issues. However, the staff really understand how to keep him engaged and cater for his complex needs. I haven't seen him so happy in 20 years. we decorated his room so he feels at home. This really is a unique place with staff that care. Awesome job Tickford

Always made very welcome when I arrive. My friend is always happy and never has a bad word about the place. The staff are excellent and very caring. I wish I could have my own mother here as well.
Thank you Paul for your comments. I will ensure the staff are shown this
My mum has always received excellent care from all the staff at Tickford Abbey. Mum has lived at Tickford Abbey for past 7 years and the level of care has always been consistent. The staff are always friendly and welcoming whenever I visit and I am always kept informed.
The home itself is always clean and well maintained.
Thank you Angela for kind words. I will be passing on your comments to the staff Team
My dad has dementia and, at times, he can be very stubborn, rude, and difficult to communicate with. Despite this, the staff handle every situation with remarkable patience and understanding. They always manage to calm him down, which takes real skill and compassion. Knowing he's treated with dignity even during difficult moments gives me enormous peace of mind.
The meals are excellent, with plenty of choice, and the food is always tasty, healthy, and well prepared.
What really stands out is the communication. The team regularly phones to check in and asks if there are any issues or improvements I'd like to suggest. That level of openness and care makes a huge difference.
I'm extremely grateful for everything they do and would highly recommend this care home
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. It our absolute pleasure taking care of your Dad. I will pass on your comments to the Team
Tickford Abbey has a friendly, homely feeling . There is always something going on and staff are always aware of their residents, popping their heads round doors saying hi and enquiring after needs ,which includes tea and cake, most enjoyable.
Thank you for your positive words; we really appreciate this as a team at Tickford Abbey.
Our mother has received excellent care during her stay at the care home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and management team.
Thank you for comments. I will pass on to the staff
my mother is always cared for extremely well in difficult circumstances (she doesn't want to be in a care home ) , she can be uncooperative at times but always appreciates friendly care and help she receives
Thank you for acknowledging the care your Mother receives. I will pass on to the Tickford Abbey staff team
We found Tickford Abbey and its staff to be very good. They are very good with mum who is not the easiest person look after there patience is wonderful. Its really nice to see how much time they spend with all the residents with a variety of activities.
Thank you Christopher for your comments. I will passed them on to the staff team
I am very impressed with Tickford Abbey in many ways. I have experienced care homes in the past, but Tickford Abbey is more than a care home. I've never seen so many activities, all very well organised and so varied. Dad is always busy doing something, where as before he was bored and lonely. It has brought him back to life in so many ways. The staff interaction is also appreciated as dad really enjoys this. He has become sociable again. It is also a relief to see him eating well again. The meals are so good, I often joke with him that he's in a 5* hotel. A huge thanks to the staff of Tickford Abbey as it is the people who make a care home and you are all appreciated. Not only do you take care of dad well, but your support for the family also helps on this difficult journey for everyone. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your kind words. I will ensure staff see your review
The activities within the home are varied and in particular the garden party which is held twice a year is amazing and a great opportunity for friends and family to gather.
Food is varied and nutritional and the home is always clean.
The grounds are beautiful and well tended.
Thank you for your wonderful comments. I will ensure the staff see your feedback. The staff all enjoy putting on the garden parties along side our volunteers
We cannot speak highly enough of the incredible care and compassion shown to my mother-in-law during a 6 month stay at Tickford Abbey. From the moment she arrived, the staff made a genuine effort to get to know her as an individual and she settled quickly.
We were impressed by the amazing range of activities and events for the residents. From arts and crafts to music sessions and outings, there was always something happening! Plus, being able to see these activities on Tickford's wonderful social media page meant so much to us as family members who live some distance away.
The care and support provided by the home manager and all of the staff was outstanding, particularly during the more challenging moments. Their patience, empathy, and understanding was always evident particularly helping us all navigate the waters of an Alzheimer's diagnosis. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone there. We wholeheartedly recommend Tickford to anyone seeking exceptional care for their loved one.
Hi Gemma thank you for your kind comments. I will ensure that the staff see your review.
Father went into Tickford Abbey for 2 weeks to recuperate. After 2 weeks Father was looking more healthier and happier than he has for years and wanted to stay full time, which the staff are helping make happen. This isn't surprising, due to from the minute my Father and I walked into this wonderful Home, the staff made him feel like a guest not a patient. You can tell the staff enjoy their work and being here by the way they are with all the residents and the way they treat each other, it is wonderful to see and made me feel we have done right by intrusting them with Father. I can not thank them enough for the turn around in my Father's physical and mental heath, if I had not seen this with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it. Whenever we go to see my Father we are made to feel welcome. Father always now has something new to tell me in what he been up to, from getting the questions right in the quiz, to see the pony's! Happy home, happy Father, happy life! Thank you.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write your lovely review of Tickford Abbey. Out team are committed to delivering the highest quality of care to our residents and their families, and your positive feedback is incredibly rewarding, I will be sure to share it with them. We are delighted your father feels so settled, and is both enjoying, and thriving in his new home.
With a spacious room overlooking the beautiful gardens for our dad the atmosphere here is more in keeping with a nice hotel than a standard care home. The manager and team have taken the time to assess the rapidly changing needs of our dad and advise and support us (his daughters). The staff are amazing, very caring, always friendly and respectful. Visitors and family are always welcomed. A lot of thought is put into the many stimulating activities offered encouraging interests and interaction for the patients. Similar attention is given regarding meals, with nice menu cards issued and offering good home cooking. 'Famileo' is the newest concept offered where family members can post photos and send messages which their loved one receives fortnightly as a personal newspaper. Our dad appears to have settled in to the new surroundings remarkably quickly and if I have any regrets it is that we couldn't persuade him to make this decision at a time when he would have benefited from it more.
Thank you Yvonne for your comments, I will share your kind words with the team.
As a family, we feel there could be no better place for my uncle to be cared for than at Tickford Abbey. The staff are always cheerful and available. They pay attention to the small things that make a big difference to each resident. The smaller scale of the home and the non-profit ethos are really felt. The place is full of warmth, music, colour and cheer. There's always some activity or another in progress or coming up on the planner. The old abbey building and the gardens are full of character. A warm and caring atmosphere that makes you smile.
Thank you for your positive words; we really appreciate this as a team at Tickford Abbey.
Mum is generally happy here she likes the food and the staff. The home is very warm and homely and the room is tidy and clean. If any issues are raised they are health quickly and satisfactorily.
Thank you for your comments. I will pass them on to the team.

Meet the Team (2)

I have been at Tickford Abbey for over 6 years. I feel privileged to work in such a beautiful historic building. I love spending time with the residents and hearing all about their life stories. It’s the best part of my job. When I’m not at work I enjoy running and spending time with my family.

I enjoy working with residents with a daily objective of providing quality and compassionate care with a smile. Seeing the residents satisfied with the quality of care we provide brings joy to my heart at the end of every shift. I see the residents as the core of our ideology of person-centred care.
