The staff were very helpful and managed to get Mum and Dad admitted within 24 hours on Christmas Eve. It was obviously a very quick admission and a difficult period to be entering/accepting new people into a new environment. There were a few teething problems but these were soon overcome. Overall I was satisfied with the experience.

We were very happy to accommodate your Mum and Dad over the Christmas period and I hope that they have settled in their new home. I will pass your comments onto the staff team.

Alexandra House was a blessing for my nana, who stayed there for respite following a fall. The staff were kind and considerate, the welcome from all the staff was outstanding and they made us and our nana feel at ease. It was like a home from home and my nana was sad to leave but she intends to visit again to see the friends that she made there.

The single most obvious thing that has struck me about this home is the kindness and patience the staff show towards the residents. We regularly hear "horror stories" in the media about how vulnerable people are treated in institutions. However, in the care of Alexandra House, nothing could be further from the truth. The staff are all so lovely, keep up the good work.

My mother aged 94 has never been away from the family in a home. She came out after a week of being looked after in Alexandra House and said how much she had enjoyed all the activities that had gone on and the way she had been treated by all the staff.

I cannot thank you enough and wouldn't hesitate in letting her return to Alexandra House.

My mum has excellent care at Alexandra House she is very happy there. I've always found the whole team at Alexandra House to be very supportive and understanding. Mum's room is very homely and kept clean and tidy. It's like home from home. I would just like to say a big thank you to Methodist Home for a lovely home for my mum to be in and also in a lovely location by the sea which mum loves so much.

My dad moved into Alexandra House from hospital in March 2019.

He has settled in well over the past month. The carers are caring, friendly and very helpful. Management is very approachable, supportive and offers good advice. The home is lovely and dad has already put on weight from being well fed, he has gained confidence and has now begun to walk a little with the walking frame again. I am sure he will continue to flourish and settle down and enjoy life without worries.

My aunt has been a resident at Alexandra House for over 4 months after trying to keep her in her own home with the help of care the hard decision has turned out to be the best decision. After an initial time to settle in the improvement in my aunt is amazing. When I visited her last week I was so pleased to see her looking so well infact the best she looked for months. There will always be bad days along with the good but I know that the care she receives in Alexandra House is always good.

The staff are extremely conscientious about the care they provide and very attentive to the needs of the residents.
They manage the transition to greater care needs (ie when physical or mental faculties decline) very sensitively and always put the resident’s needs first.
The catering is good overall and a choice is offered. Activities are limited but reasonable for the size of the home.

Cleanliness is excellent and the staff are outstanding, liaise really well with relatives, and general communication is wonderful. Highly recommended.

Everyone at the home could not be more helpful and friendly. I think that the best I can say to show what I mean is that when a member of social services visited as a follow up after my Father's placement, her comments were This is the cleanest and, best well run home I have ever seen.

I could not wish for better care. They are not just management, staff, but they are loving people who I feel make me feel loved and wanted. It's not just a job to them but want to do everything they can to make life happy and content and as for my room, well to me it's not just a room but my home! I cannot thank them enough. A job well done, with love!

My mother went into Alexandra House for two weeks respite care. She was made most welcome. Her room had en-suite facilities. Staff were caring, cheerful and smiling.

Food was well cooked and very good. The bed was comfortable. The two weeks respite care did my mother a lot of good and she was able to return to her own home.

From our initial visit, it was clear that the friendly respectful and caring ethos of the home offered a well planned 24/7 support for residents. The staff were excellent in engaging residents in a multitude of activities and social opportunities. The carers are superb being well trained and focussed on meeting the needs of residents physically, mentally and respectfully. There is a friendly ethos where family and friends are welcomed and involved. The management is experienced in all areas of their work and leads a strong team of excellent staff who are capable of addressing the occasional challenge.

My father went into Alexandra House at the end of April 2016, having prostate cancer, which we knew had spread to a kidney. My mother was transferred from an LA care home to Alexandra House and she was given a room next to Dad. They were both treated very kindly and with dignity and love. Dad was taken ill on 28/12/16 and we were asked if he should be transferred to the local hospice - we said No, as he was so settled and mum was with him. He passed away on 1st Jan 17. Mum was really cherished by staff and she had a stroke on 18/03/17 and taken to the hospital, where she passed away on 28/03/17. The staff at Alexandra were marvellous. We still keep in touch.
