Choosing a care home is an important decision, and families often say they feel confident from their very first visit to Weavers Grange. Surrounded by two acres of gardens and mature cedar trees, the home offers a calm and comfortable environment where residents can continue daily life with familiarity and dignity.

Residential, nursing and short stay respite care is provided for up to 63 residents. The experienced team takes time to understand each resident properly, shaping support around individual routines, preferences and wellbeing while keeping relatives informed and involved.

Each private suite has been recently refurbished and includes en-suite facilities, nurse call systems and connections for personal televisions and telephones. Accessible bathing areas, passenger lifts and a range of welcoming lounges and dining rooms provide spaces for social time as well as quiet relaxation.

Meals are freshly prepared by the in house kitchen team and carefully planned around dietary requirements. A varied programme of activities supports wellbeing, and regular visits from a hairdresser, chiropodist, optician and clergy help maintain familiar routines.

It is my honest opinion that the care my mother receives at The Cedars is second to none! I have no qualms whatsoever to recommend the home to others. My mother has been welcomed and treated with consistent and tender care. It is an immaculate facility with dedicated staff.

My friend and I visited our very special friend who is living at Cedars. We had been regular visitors to her previous care home. Since moving to Cedars we can hardly believe the difference in our friend. She looks years younger, her appearance is so much better, and she is so happy. Her communication
has improved. Well done and thanks to all the staff at Cedars for making our friend the happy person she is now.

We became aware that The Cedars had been taken over by a new company last year, and that they had made great improvements to the standards of the home and to the level of care. We visited the home for an inspection and whilst we found it to be not as upmarket as some of those we visited/considered,
it seemed comfortable, spotlessly clean and not a trace of a nasty whiff! The residents seemed happy and very well cared for.

Our dear Dad was admitted to hospital just after Xmas. Because of his declining health, he was unable to return home and so became a resident at The Cedars until his sad death in February. As a family, we cannot fault the level of care he received during his brief stay at the home. The staff were so very kind and respectful to him and sadly when it became apparent that my father was dying, the kindness, care, compassion and dignity given to him was excellent. We wish to thank the management and staff for the kindness, respect, compassion and dignity that they gave to our Dad and to all of us.

I was a bit sceptical about the home being taken over however since the takeover the home looks more presentable and the staff are working more as a team than before. I can really see the changes and I hope they keep this up. Clearly, the new company know what they are doing. I must say the staff morale
is much better and they always have time to stop and have a chat and they are doing a fantastic job looking after my sister.

I had visited my grandma last week and she was looking more chirpy than ever. She was telling me about all the new activities she has been doing and how the staff are all happy. I had taken a look at her room and I can see the company have done some refurbishments to her room as I stated to them that
the light was not working and the carpet was slightly out of date. They had immediately taken action and I could see they were doing a refurbishment across the home which is always a good thing, not for myself but for all the residents.

I feel the home is going in the right direction now as we all know the home had a few problems with the old owners.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.802)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.802) out of 10 for Weavers Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.802 for Weavers Grange is calculated as follows: ( (288 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 354 Ratings = 4.802
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Weavers Grange is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
