Very pleased about the care my wife has received. She is fed and cleaned constantly and the carers are all lovely people. The place itself is very clean.

The Cedar's Meadows unit is a lovely venue for a care home, permanent resident or rehabilitation resident. The venue is not huge so has a nice intimate homely feel. But it is the staff who excel and create a wonderful environment and care level. The deputy manager is first-class, empathetic, strong,
engaging, professional and very accomplished at her job! Whatever you are paying her - it isn't enough.
Reply from Ruth French, Director at Cedars PlaceWhat a fantastic review! We love that you feel Cedars Place is homely - this is so important to us! Thank you also for your outstanding feedback on our Deputy Manager - we will share that with her!

I am really pleased with the care that my dad receives at Cedars Place Care Home. Dad seems very happy there, best thing we could do for him was to have him go into Cedars, well looked after and meet his needs.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Cedars PlaceThis is wonderful news and we are delighted to hear how settled your dad is at Cedars Place and how happy you are too. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Kind regards.

My father has been a resident since August this year. He is struggling with a form of dementia and also cancer which has resulted in some challenging behaviour. The care staff and nurses have been amazing. He has received such individual care, with the incredible head nurse utterly determined to get
it right for him so that he settled. He loves animals, and our dog is welcomed by the staff every visit, and we were even allowed to bring my son's horse into the garden over the summer to see him!
My father is so much more settled now due to their care and support. He even cut a phone call short the other day as it was time for his social, as he calls it; this basically means sitting in the nurses' office sharing some chocolate! I am kept informed of everything and am involved in all key decisions. I never worry about the care he is receiving and am immensely grateful.

My father-in-law was placed here when he was terminally ill and a lot of comfort was drawn from the fact that I don't think we could have chosen a better place for his last days.
He was made to feel extremely welcome, very quickly made comfortable and extremely well looked after.
The staff were outstanding
and made us feel very welcome when visiting.
They even let us bring his dog along for the visits which cheered him up no end.
Although he wasn't mobile and couldn't leave his room, we saw several other aspects of the home including the lounge area and gardens, like the rest of the place clean and well cared for.

My mum was in respite at Cedars Place Care Home for six weeks and every aspect of her stay and myself and my husband's experience there was amazing! From even before she was admitted, I was contacted by a member of staff who asked about my mum's past, her favourite foods and also if she had any pets.
When she got there we were asked to bring her dog with us when we visited, which was all she was asking for. All the staff were absolutely brilliant, from the time we stepped through the door and met the admin who were lovely, the carers who were heroes, to the cleaners and chefs who were very friendly, we were super impressed. Everywhere was spotless, the activities were great, all the other residents loved having our dogs in and everyone always made time for a chat. We cannot express our gratitude for looking after my mum so well. You are all stars!

My father was placed here supposedly for a short time as he was bed-blocking. This meant he could be moved at any time and made it difficult for the home.
However, I cannot fault his care. He was a difficult resident but nothing phased the carers and they would go the extra mile when caring for him.
If this home had been nearer to his family I would have readily seen him stay there.

Mum has settled better than expected in Cedars Place. The staff are friendly and helpful and have made her feel comfortable and safe.
During a recent medical emergency, they responded to ensure everything was done to ensure Mum's needs and treatment were met, as well as keeping the family informed.
It's
early days but the family feel they have made the right choice for Mum who has multiple difficulties.
We look forward to Mum making new friends and becoming part of the 'Cedars' community.

Very impressed. Rooms are clean and well-appointed. Good storage space and own toilet. Staff are friendly and helpful and have a good rapport with my mother taking time to be with her. Cedars Place Care Home has gone from strength to strength over the past twelve months. There has been extensive interior refurbishment to a high standard, as well as ongoing improvements to the forecourt. The professional, caring staff are wonderful and go to great lengths in ensuring residents' well-being.
Activities and entertainment are regularly laid on and the care is personalised according to individual needs. It is a friendly and cheerful home, efficiently managed and relatives are able to visit their loved one without undue restrictions (although government guidelines may apply pending Covid).
My mother has now been a resident at Cedars Place for twelve months. She enjoys living there and partaking in the social life of the home. I feel secure in the knowledge that she is happy and very well looked after. There are regular Cedars Place communications with relatives and the staff make every effort to get to know you as well.
Reply from Ruth French, Director at Cedars PlaceWe are delighted to read this warm review and so happy that both you and your mother feel so secure in the choice you have made. My husband has lived in Cedars Place for approximately 18-months. Previously he lived in another care home which closed down. Since coming to Cedars Place, he always seems happy and content; the staff are friendly and appear to treat residents with respect and dignity. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions
in place because of Covid, we have not been able to visit and socialise as we would like, but hopefully, these will lift in the near future.

This review can unfortunately only be based on the visits made to the home, as it has not been possible to see the layout or facilities due to restrictions that are still in place. However, my mother is of sound mind and has high praise for how she is looked after and cared for. She is extremely happy
at Cedars Place, for which I am most grateful to everyone concerned.
Reply from Ruth French, Director at Cedars PlaceWe are delighted that you are so happy with the care that is being provided to your mother at Cedars Place. My mother was sent to Cedars Place Care Home after contracting Covid and a stay in hospital. I was quite concerned as this always seems like the last bastion for an elderly person. I needn't have worried as Cedars Place is perfect for Mum. She is safe and secure and well looked after by the staff.
One
issue I have is the time it takes to get admitted to the home when visiting. I live in Norfolk and as the visiting time is fairly short, time is of the essence. Also, it can be difficult to get through on the telephone, I appreciate that this may be due to short staffing but is fairly important when trying to contact someone.
Mum's room is lovely but unfortunately as yet, she is unable to get into the en-suite which is a real shame and distresses Mum. I don't know how or if this situation can be resolved but do hope it can be looked into.
All in all, Mum seems happy at Cedars Place, unfortunately, I can't see her ever returning to her flat so I feel this is definitely the best place for her now!
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Cedars PlaceThank you for the time you have taken to leave us such a warm review. Your comments mean a great deal to the team as we continue to provide excellent care through such difficult, unprecedented times. We hope that your mum's physical condition improves soon so that she will be able to use the en-suite facilities. Staff are dedicated to supporting her with this to ensure she continues to have a positive and comfortable stay at Cedars Place.

I am unable to answer all of the questions because my dad came to Cedars Place during the lockdown. So other than the coffee room where we see dad, we haven't been allowed in the home. Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.797)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.797) out of 10 for Cedars Place is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.797 for Cedars Place is calculated as follows: ( (278 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 344 Ratings = 4.797
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedars Place is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
