I'm afraid despite the friendliness and commitment of some of the staff, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, we made that mistake before we realised just how poor some of the practices were, and needless to say the friend who we recommended also turned out to be shocked by some of the
lack of care and support shown to their mother and are also going to be reporting it.My relative ended up being safeguarded by the hospital, and the home looked into by social care (also reported to CQC), After my relative ended up in hospital for a month, and the attitude of Stow healthcare senior management leaves a lot to be desired, so much so I have commenced legal action to recover fees paid during the period that she did not receive the care and support she should have done. The fact that the fees for this home totalled almost £1750 a week, including fnc, and yet not only the service provided was poor, but the food, and lack of basic hygiene care as well. Her new home is far superior

Mum continues to have fantastic care 24 hours from everyone at Melford Court. She has now been a resident for 16months, and in that time we have witnessed her ups and downs, but due to being so well looked after, she has recovered each time.
The food has improved immensely, the carers are always on-hand
and nothing is too much trouble, from the cleaning staff to the office staff. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, treating mum and all residents with love and respect.
The entertainment team provide fun and exciting daily activities, who work incredibly hard to stimulate the residents. Musicians, yoga, magicians, visiting zoos/farm animals, arts & crafts, book club, board & word games and themed events are just some of the amazing things they organise.
I visit mum most days and am truly happy that mum is where she is- you will not find a better care home for your loved one.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing Manager at Melford CourtThank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that your mum continues to receive the care and support she deserves. It's great to know that the improvements in food, the dedication of our team, and the variety of activities have made such a positive difference. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we'll make sure to share them with everyone at Melford Court.

Overall this has been a great move for my mother. There have been odd times when there have not been enough staff around or things have not been done quickly enough but this may have been due to circumstances outside their control. It is a friendly place, the food is good and plentiful. Staff , including
the cleaners, are lovely.

As a family we are so thankful that Dad was able to spend his last couple of months at Ford Place Nursing Home. It was a worry as he had been in another care home since 2018 and was so loved by the staff there but his care needs meant he needed more for his last few weeks. We did our research and chose
Ford Place for him. I cannot put into words how lucky we feel that they were able to take Dad. The kindness and care shown to Dad was beautiful. We were kept updated about every single thing, even if it was a new prescription for a cream or a bed sore. If there are any concerns they will call you no matter the time of day or night, early hours of the morning etc. All the staff are amazing, the house is beautifully clean, the grounds are beautiful for the residents who are able to get out into the fresh air. The socail media page showing the activities that are put on melts my heart and I wish that Dad had been well enough to take part. Dad died with absolute dignity here. 100% recommended.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing Manager at Ford PlaceThank you so much for your heartfelt review. We're truly honoured to have cared for your dad during his final months, and it means a great deal to know you felt supported and informed throughout. Your kind words about our staff, the home, and the care provided are deeply appreciated. It was a privilege to be part of your father's journey, and we're grateful for your trust. Please accept our sincere condolences, and thank you again for your recommendation. Warm regards.

My mother has been at Cedars Place for the past two years. She has received great kindness and attentive care from the staff here.
When problems arise as they inevitably do over time, they are dealt with professionally and sensitively . We tried a couple of other homes before settling on CP, and it
has been by far the best.
Thank you.

This is a nursing home that goes the extra mile! My husband was a resident for 5 months for palliative care. He was treated with the utmost kindness and patience despite him being very grumpy at times..the staff also looked after me. His friends wanted to bring the "pub" to him and the staff
enabled that to happen. Other visitors commented that it was the best nursing home they had ever been to and I can 100% recommend it.

My elderly mother is blind/deaf with dementia and limited mobility. She has complex needs requiring specialist care and is supported by a responsive team of nurses and carers skilled in managing her physical and psychological well-being. Importantly, they have taken the time to get to know her and
have now become my mother's trusted friends and companions.
All the staff are wonderful - nothing is too much trouble - and everything is done with a smile !
Horkesley Manor has given my mother a quality of life that I never thought possible. Having previously spent a long time bedridden in hospital, it has been miraculous to see my mother in a wheelchair enjoying the sunshine in the garden.
What sets Horkesley Manor apart is a real sense of compassion in looking after others and treating them with respect and dignity. It has made a tangible difference to my mother's life and our family and I will be forever grateful for the kindness and understanding she continues to receive each day.

When
we visit there is always a lovely happy and calm atmosphere, and the staff all work together well.
Horkesley Manor is super clean, light and airy with views over the meadow from the dining room, a good variety on the menu home cooked by the chef and plenty of activities going on if you wish to participate yet also quiet and peaceful
