I was very happy with the service provided. Mother was well cared for and the experience of respite care was positive. Mother was treated well and a well-known hot drink was provided especially for her bedtime drink. We will definitely consider using the home in the future.

Always feel that the team are interested and caring about their 'charges'. It is a good feeling to walk through the front door and be greeted by smiling faces and be addressed by by newly given name TROUBLE. Our son, Simon, is made to feel at home and is comfortable in Ford Place.
A special mention
for all of those staff members who will visit their wrath on me if I fail to mention them!
Reply from Charlie Diamond, Marketing and Communications Lead at Ford PlaceThank you for your lovely and light-hearted review. We're so pleased Simon feels comfortable and at home at Ford Place, and that you're always greeted with such warmth when you visit. Your kind words will certainly be shared with the whole team!

I was very concerned about putting dad in a home but the level of care/service has been unbelievable and dad is so happy there. Its the staff that make the difference from the cleaning, cooking through to management nothing is to much for them and all make dad feel welcome.

Wonderful care, kindness & compassion shown to my father during his short stay at the home by all staff.
The staff were extremely welcoming & always greeted us with a smile and any queries were dealt with immediately & solutions found to make my father's stay there more comfortable.
My father sadly
passed away at the home, but while he was there he was treated with great dignity & respect at all times. I would highly recommend Horkesley Manor to others seeking excellent care for their loved ones.
Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Horkesley ManorThank you for sharing this with us.
We are so deeply sorry for your loss. To know that your father was cared for with such kindness and compassion during his time with us brings some comfort. Looking after someone at such a tender and emotional time is a privilege, and it is always done with the utmost respect and care.
It means a great deal to hear that you felt welcomed each time you walked through the door, and that any worries or questions were met with patience and understanding. Families matter just as much as those we care for, and being able to offer reassurance during difficult days is incredibly important.
Thank you for trusting Horkesley Manor with your father's care and for your recommendation to other families.

Halstead Hall is a delightful place. Staff go above and beyond to provide the very best care and experiences for residents.
My mother has been a resident for just over a year and recently turned 90. Staff provided a private room for us to celebrate as a family, not to mention the delicious cake the
staff provided for us to enjoy. As well as tea and coffee all served in the finest bone china!
Residents rooms and communal areas are warm, welcoming and well maintained. The activities staff provide a wide range of different activities for residents to take part in if they wish.
All staff know residents by name understanding each of their individual needs.
Overall I highly recommend Halstead Hall to anyone considering residential care for a family member, friend or themselves.
Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Halstead HallThank you very much for sharing such a lovely review. Halstead Hall has been amazing for my Mother. We initially placed my Mum there for respite care following a second fall just before Christmas in December 2024.
It was quickly apparent that Mum (who did not initially want to go into a care home) was in safe hands. The care she received has been amazing.
We converted the respite care to permanent resident in February 2025 with my Mum's agreement.
All the staff have been wonderful and the care home always keep as fully informed. Lisa in the front office along with all the management team have been fantastic. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do is to allow someone else to provide the primary care for my ageing Mother. But Lisa and the Team immediately gave me the support and confidence in this transition.
I could not express my gratitude enough for the lovely care and the safe environment that is provided for my Mother and the residents of Halstead Hall.
Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Halstead HallThank you very much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind, thoughtful words. They are truly appreciated by everyone at Halstead Hall. We understand how difficult it can be to make decisions about long-term care for a loved one, particularly when it is a significant change. It is lovely to hear that your mum now feels safe, settled and well cared for, and that the move from respite to permanent care felt right for her and for you. We are especially pleased to know that you felt supported and well informed throughout this transition. Your kind comments about Lisa and the wider team will mean a great deal to them, as they take great pride in offering reassurance, care and consistency to both residents and their families. Thank you for placing your trust in us. We are very glad to care for your mum and to have her as part of the Halstead Hall community.

We placed mum here for respite a couple of times before we left her here in full time care.
We visit 2 - 3 times a week to make sure Mum is happy and well. She has nothing but good things to say about the home and staff and seems really happy. Recently her health has not been so good and the response
and attention she has been given during this time has been second to none.
We have got to know some of the key staff and have found them to be personable, diligent and professional in all respects. We are very glad we chose this home. I would be more than happy to recommend this home to anyone who is in need of arranging care for a relative.

Kind, caring and considerate staff. Responsive, engaged management and a calm , civilised environment. All set in a beautiful building surrounded by lovely parkland. Many of the bedroooms are very spacious with great outlooks, and the large rooms of the public areas mean it never feels overcrowded.
Staff are friendly, cheerful and provide a happy environment. My father is well looked after and feels cared for and safe.

Both my parents are residents of Melford Court. They moved in a few months ago. Everyone has been very welcoming and supportive as they have transitioned into their new home. It has not always been easy, the communication between the staff and myself has been excellent, I always know what they are doing
to help my parents settle in. I visit often, and there is a warm welcome everytime. There are a wide range of activities, the residents are given a timetable so they always know what is happening for the week. The home has been very accommodating with regards to food, Mum & Dad are vegetarians, they have had several chats with the chef, and, after a few false starts, are now very happy with what is on offer. It has not been an easy few months, but with the help of everyone at Melford Court they are now settled and happy.

Care staff are brilliant. Nothing too much trouble. Had one incident with a nurse telling me mum she didn't have to go to hospital. She (mum) smelt really bad she had CDIFF. I overrode her, and my mum although bed ridden is happy and well. If I had listened to the nurse my mum would be dead 1 1/2 years
ago. Prices could be a little lower especially when some residents hardly eat much food. Nurses should listen to carers as they know that residents need.
Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Melford CourtThank you for sharing your feedback. Were delighted to hear your kind words about our care staff and their dedication to supporting residents.
We appreciate you highlighting the importance of strong communication and teamwork when it comes to residents health needs. I cannot speak highly enough of Stowlangtoft Hall and the exceptional care they provided for my mother during her final months. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her with genuine warmth, dignity, and compassion. The building and peaceful surroundings really add to the welcoming environment,
making it feel less like a care facility and more like a home.
The level of care was outstanding. The team were attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure Mum was comfortable and well looked after. They made her feel valued as a person, not just a patient. The chef cooked her special meals, as she could only eat soft food, and he popped in often to see if she'd liked it.
As a daughter, I felt completely supported. The staff communicated openly with me and made me feel welcome when I visited.
I would recommend Stowlangtoft Hall to any family looking for compassionate, high-quality care. They made a profound difference to us that I will always be grateful for.
