Review of Horkesley Manor from Tanya T (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I cannot speak highly enough of Horkesley Manor and would recommend it to anyone who has to make the traumatic decision to put themselves or a loved one into care.Mike the care home manager always goes above and beyond and is so approachable and really cares for the residents and their family. All the staff have been fantastic in how they look after my mum who has advanced vascular dementia. They treat her with dignity and kindness and keep me informed of any developments with her.

Reply from Charlie Diamond, Marketing and Communications Lead at Horkesley Manor

Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. It means a great deal to know you feel your mum is cared for with dignity and kindness. Your wonderful words about Mike and the whole team are truly appreciated.

Review of Ford Place from L A (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 12 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
First and foremost this home is getting 1 star because I cant give any less so unfortunately 1 star it is which is a complete lie as they deserve a 0*.
My Father In-Law was residing in this home with stage 4 Glioblastoma which is a form of brain cancer. He is currently bed bound with the assistance of 2 carers and 1 carer for meals. He is currently on a level 6 food which is soft and bitesize with normal fluids. This food diet is quite strict with him not being allowed certain foods and all food has to be fork mashable and cut into easy to bite/swallow pieces due to a risk of choking.

He is to be sat at a 90° angle for all foods and fluids. We have attended the home on a number of occasions and he was lying down eating foods that he's NOT allowed and when I said something I was told by the chef "well what do you want for him then". I don't want anything for him, I want what he needs, which is a soft and bitesize diet. When we report on certain nights he's in pain we are told he will be seen shortly.

Review of Brandon Park from M M (Niece of Resident) published on 22 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Uncle is very unwell and has been fortunate enough to be placed at Brandon Park. The level of care and consideration he receives has been beyond expectations, and the air of calm at the home is incredible.

As his family is all based overseas it has been very hard for us to be away from him at this time, and knowing he is in such safe hands is a real comfort. I cannot overstate the quality of the care and the warm, supportive nature of the whole team. We visited in July and have been so impressed and grateful to see him in this environment as such a hard time. I could not recommend Brandon Park more highly.

Reply from Charlie Diamond, Marketing and Communications Lead at Brandon Park

Thank you for your kind words and recommendation. We're honoured to care for your uncle and are so pleased we could provide comfort and reassurance to your family during such a difficult time. Our team will truly appreciate your feedback.

Delighted that we chose Halstead Hall for Evelyn, the care and attention she has received has been excellent in every respect. All the staff have been very attentive and helpful. The staff are delightful, nothing is too much trouble, which allows the 'Home' to have the feeling of being a happy place.
Equally, the medical team's support is excellent, and I wish to thank them for their continued support during Evelyn's stay.

Review of Ford Place from Linda M (Sister of Resident) published on 19 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have recently been in hospital followed by isolation due to a stem cell transplant and was naturally worried re my brother who is in Ford place Nursing Home Thetford because I was unable to visit or check on him for several weeks. The home reassured me that he was in safe hands and they would take good care of him so I didn't worry. I was kept fully informed via email and phone calls, not only to update on my brother but to check on my progress too so they could reassure him I was ok. I cannot fault the care and compassion we feel as a family and it made my difficult journey so much better knowing he was in safe hands. When visiting I am always greeted with welcoming smiles and they know me which makes it feel like a family environment.I cannot thank Ford Place enough for all they do.

Review of Horkesley Manor from Harvey P (Son of Resident) published on 8 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum was admitted to Horkesely Manor following a prolonged hospital stay and received excellent care. Very quickly, Mum realised how safe and supported she felt within this care home and decided she would like to become a permanent resident. Laura and her team have been quick to respond to Mum's Dementia needs and her permanent relocation to the medical practice centre has ensured that Mum can receive the best care, whilst retaining independence around day to day activities and her personal care.

The team are fantastic, caring and supportive.

My wife has P S P which I know is hard to deal with but as soon as we stepped foot in the nursing home we felt a sense of professionalism. All the staff seemed happy and approachable and they soon had us settled in. The grounds and buildings are very pleasant and parking and access easy. I am thinking of extending the booked respite as I am pleased with the start of my wife's stay. Please keep up this fine work.

I just want to thank Horksley Manor for all the Care & Dignity the staff gave my Mum when she was there. So supportive and caring and made my Mum so comfortable in her last days. Even once she'd passed away they were supportive of me and my family. Nothing was too much and the care was second to none. Such a lovely care home and would promote to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation ,making my Mum's last two weeks her most comfortable and pain free. Lovely support from all who work there.

My mum went to weavers grange to be assessed.she stayed from the 25th of February to the 20th of April 2026.what can I say.the care home was brilliant.all the staff were so good.the level of care could not have been better.i was blown away by how good everything was.mum only came out because it was a 35 round trip and the fuel costs and travelling was taking it's toll.if we lived closer I would have been more than happy for mum to stay there for the rest of her life.if you live closer and are looking for a care home for your self or a loved one do your self a massive favour and get your self or loved one ln weavers grange as soon as you can.

Review of Brandon Park from Jacqui C (Respite Resident) published on 27 April 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
I recently had an excellent week of respite at Brandon Park.
The staff were all very kind and cheerful and helpful, and I was very comfortable.

The ambience of the home was of warmth and pleasantness, my visitors remarked on this. The help with the bath was excellent, and a treat as a usual constant shower room user. The shower room pump had a few hiccups, but was promptly being reviewed, the room itself was very good and spacious.

I was in this home for one week only, but experienced excellent care and attention by all the staff. There was a wide variety of activities suited to each one's needs, with views taken into consideration. When a near neigbours loud media was playing at 11:30 PM when needing to sleep, it was immediately quietened. Meals were excellent, with all needs in diets were supplied and satisfied.

Review of Brandon Park from Maggie W (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 April 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum lived at Brandon Park Maple Memory Centre for eighteen months.
She settled really quickly, the staff gave a level of support which was appropriate for her changing and variable needs.
Mum was happy, engaged in the social activities offered by the staff.
She was offered food to her taste.
The staff really understand dementia and communicated well with all residents.
We as a family were always welcome at the memory centre included in decision making and kept well informed of any changes.
Mum died in the memory centre in Oct 25.
End of life care was perfect, enabling mum to die in her preferred place.
Staff at the home respected mum and our wishes.

Thank you to all the staff at Brandon for their support of both mum and us as a family.
