My elderly mother is blind/deaf with dementia and limited mobility. She has complex needs requiring specialist care and is supported by a responsive team of nurses and carers skilled in managing her physical and psychological well-being. Importantly, they have taken the time to get to know her and
have now become my mother's trusted friends and companions.
All the staff are wonderful - nothing is too much trouble - and everything is done with a smile !
Horkesley Manor has given my mother a quality of life that I never thought possible. Having previously spent a long time bedridden in hospital, it has been miraculous to see my mother in a wheelchair enjoying the sunshine in the garden.
What sets Horkesley Manor apart is a real sense of compassion in looking after others and treating them with respect and dignity. It has made a tangible difference to my mother's life and our family and I will be forever grateful for the kindness and understanding she continues to receive each day.

Our Mum has been staying at Horkesley Manor for 8 months now and we cannot praise this beautiful care home enough. All the staff are wonderfully caring and supportive to our mum with excellent nursing and personal care. It truly feels like home from home because they involve us all as a family.
When
we visit there is always a lovely happy and calm atmosphere, and the staff all work together well.
Horkesley Manor is super clean, light and airy with views over the meadow from the dining room, a good variety on the menu home cooked by the chef and plenty of activities going on if you wish to participate yet also quiet and peaceful
We feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful care home for our Mum.

Horkesley Manor has a truly welcoming atmosphere with a fantastic manager and carers and nurses who are passionate about care and attention. Everyone has time to talk and doors are always open to assist with any special needs or requests. The home has a cheerful feel and every member of staff greets
you with a smile. The property has nice decor with clean and bright rooms. Dog friendly which is so important to residents and visiting families and everyone feels welcome. From her first day my Mother has been made to feel at home. The excellent care and consideration for her well-being has been exemplary. Mum has joined in with a wealth of entertainments that have been offered, be it visiting baby goats or strawberry preparation for Wimbledon celebrations. The activities
have definitely stimulated her interest in her surroundings which has been wonderful to see. Her accommodation is comfortable and beautifully furnished and we have added family photographs to make it more homely for her. Knowing Mum is happy and well looked after in her new home has definitely removed the stress from us her family.

After my mum arrived she was treated with the upmost care and dignity. She had quite complex medical needs and was receiving end of life care. I cannot praise the Manager , the Nurses, the Activities Team, and all the staff who took care of my mum enough, they were wonderful. She was only there just
over a month before she passed away but I know that all her needs were met at all times and for that I am forever grateful. Having never seen inside a nursing home before, I was taken aback by the facilities that they had, the cleanliness of the place and the can do attitude of all the staff. Thank you all my the bottom of my heart for your professionalism, support and care for my mother and myself.

I requested a very last minute respite placing for my Mother, and she was found a place at Manson House, at the beginning of the heatwave. The room was on the top floor and overlooking Northgate Street, which was hot and noisy. After an uncomfortable night, they moved her to another room at the rear
of the property, which was cooler, quieter and on the first floor. Such a relief to both of us. I visited every other day, only so as Mum didn't feel abandoned, but soon realised that not only was she getting the rest she needed, she was very much looked after. Without exception, all the staff members were cheery, chatty and caring, keeping Mums spirits up and making her feel safe. The food was excellent and varied, the building spotless and the gardens were full of interesting plants, quiet and calm. Our family have viewed the words 'Care home' with fear until now. The staff here really care and we are planning another stay in couple of months.

This has very luckily become a home from home for my Mum. The last thing in the world she wanted was to leave her home, but I believe she couldn't be looked after better here in Horkesley Manor.
The care and attention is second to none and she is made to feel special which is just what you as a "child"
would want for a mother. If for any reason I cannot visit then the wonderful assistant manager will contact me and gives me the peace of mind that mum is ok.
That my Mum is surrounded by caring nursing staff that make her daily life worthy of a smile and a laugh grateful thanks go to the carer ( who checks in on her on her day off) as well As all the fabulous caring staff. so reassuring.
I'm so lucky we have found Horkesley Manor . Gives my mum a safe environment and her family peace of mind.

My mother-in-law had respite care at Stowlangtoft Hall whilst we were on holiday. Being very independent (as much as she can be at 95) she approached her stay with trepidation.
She needn't have worried, she had a marvellous time. The staff were all very attentive and caring, always taking time to chat
with her. She was full of praise for the food which was plentiful with plenty & choices. Although her room was small, it was very comfortable, with plenty of storage, a glorious view over the countryside and with a very generous en-suite shower room. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay.

Mum was cared for so well. Her personal hygiene own neglect was overcome and she was always well presented and dressed as she chose. The food is good and carefully, visually presented to help choice. The home is immaculately clean and the bedrooms always kept neat and tidy. Activities take place 7 days
a week and the rapport staff build with residents is positive and relatable to each individual. The activities ladies are true stars and bring laughter to each session alongside a range of topical activities. Visitors can bring dogs and there is an open door policy at the home which all staff express, must feel like their own to every resident.

There is a good ratio of male carers which is good for him and his dignity. All the staff from cleaners

My grandmother was cared for at Stowlangtoft Hall for a couple of months at the end of her life. The care and compassion she was shown throughout her stay was hugely appreciated. It was a difficult time for us as a family as well, and we always felt supported and cared for, particularly in my grandmother's
final days. It goes without saying that the setting is stunning with beautiful grounds and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. But what sets Stowlangtoft Hall apart is the incredible staff. Everyone from the carers to nurses, cleaning staff, management team, activities ladies and catering staff, all go above and beyond. It's clear that the team really care about what they do. The carers and nurses do an incredible job and always treated my grandmother with kindness and respect, which was so appreciated. She was even given a lovely birthday with cake, candles and birthday present the week before she passed away. I will always be grateful to everyone at SH for their outstanding care.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother's standard of care was more than excellent , with highly skilled and very caring, committed staff at all levels providing personalised care , helping her to feel valued, respected and cared for in her end of life care . Excellent food was always provided , plus extra special touches of a
beautiful gift and a birthday cake in the last week of her life. As visitors our family we were always made welcome with friendly smiles and an cuppa. All staff knew the updated situation as my mother's health declined . We always felt confident that there was excellent communication between staff and with us visiting . The building and decor were also of the highest standards of quality and cleanliness; spacious so that all residents were afforded quiet and privacy . A full programme of seemingly excellent activities were offered although Mum was too ill to take part . In summary , superb care for my mother as a resident and superb care for our family members visiting her .
