Wonderful care, kindness & compassion shown to my father during his short stay at the home by all staff.
The staff were extremely welcoming & always greeted us with a smile and any queries were dealt with immediately & solutions found to make my father's stay there more comfortable.
My father sadly
passed away at the home, but while he was there he was treated with great dignity & respect at all times. I would highly recommend Horkesley Manor to others seeking excellent care for their loved ones.
Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Horkesley ManorThank you for sharing this with us.

We are so deeply sorry for your loss. To know that your father was cared for with such kindness and compassion during his time with us brings some comfort. Looking after someone at such a tender and emotional time is a privilege, and it is always done with the utmost respect and care.

It means a great deal to hear that you felt welcomed each time you walked through the door, and that any worries or questions were met with patience and understanding. Families matter just as much as those we care for, and being able to offer reassurance during difficult days is incredibly important.

Thank you for trusting Horkesley Manor with your father's care and for your recommendation to other families.

Not only is Stowlangtoft Hall a beautiful old building but the nursing home is run by people who genuinely care and strive to do their utmost to look after their residents as if they were members of their own family, going above and beyond. Moving my elderly Dad in for the final months of his life was
definitely the best decision we made.

Halstead Hall is a delightful place. Staff go above and beyond to provide the very best care and experiences for residents.
My mother has been a resident for just over a year and recently turned 90. Staff provided a private room for us to celebrate as a family, not to mention the delicious cake the
staff provided for us to enjoy. As well as tea and coffee all served in the finest bone china!
Residents rooms and communal areas are warm, welcoming and well maintained. The activities staff provide a wide range of different activities for residents to take part in if they wish.
All staff know residents by name understanding each of their individual needs.
Overall I highly recommend Halstead Hall to anyone considering residential care for a family member, friend or themselves.
Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Halstead HallThank you very much for sharing such a lovely review. We are delighted to hear how happy your mother has been at Halstead Hall and to know that her recent 90th birthday celebration was such a special occasion for your family.
It was a pleasure to be able to help you celebrate together, and we are so pleased you enjoyed the cake and refreshments. Creating meaningful moments like this for our residents and their families is very important to us.
Your kind comments about the care, the activities on offer and the warm, welcoming environment will mean a great deal to the whole team. We take pride in knowing our residents well and supporting them as individuals, so it is wonderful to hear that this has made a positive difference.

Thank you for your recommendation and for placing your trust in us. We are very glad to have your mother as part of the Halstead Hall community.

Halstead Hall has been amazing for my Mother. We initially placed my Mum there for respite care following a second fall just before Christmas in December 2024.

It was quickly apparent that Mum (who did not initially want to go into a care home) was in safe hands. The care she received has been amazing.

We converted the respite care to permanent resident in February 2025 with my Mum's agreement.

All the staff have been wonderful and the care home always keep as fully informed. Lisa in the front office along with all the management team have been fantastic. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do is to allow someone else to provide the primary care for my ageing Mother. But Lisa and the Team immediately gave me the support and confidence in this transition.

I could not express my gratitude enough for the lovely care and the safe environment that is provided for my Mother and the residents of Halstead Hall.

Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Halstead HallThank you very much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind, thoughtful words. They are truly appreciated by everyone at Halstead Hall.
We understand how difficult it can be to make decisions about long-term care for a loved one, particularly when it is a significant change. It is lovely to hear that your mum now feels safe, settled and well cared for, and that the move from respite to permanent care felt right for her and for you.
We are especially pleased to know that you felt supported and well informed throughout this transition. Your kind comments about Lisa and the wider team will mean a great deal to them, as they take great pride in offering reassurance, care and consistency to both residents and their families. Thank you for placing your trust in us. We are very glad to care for your mum and to have her as part of the Halstead Hall community.

We placed mum here for respite a couple of times before we left her here in full time care.
We visit 2 - 3 times a week to make sure Mum is happy and well. She has nothing but good things to say about the home and staff and seems really happy. Recently her health has not been so good and the response
and attention she has been given during this time has been second to none.
We have got to know some of the key staff and have found them to be personable, diligent and professional in all respects. We are very glad we chose this home. I would be more than happy to recommend this home to anyone who is in need of arranging care for a relative.

Both my parents are residents of Melford Court. They moved in a few months ago. Everyone has been very welcoming and supportive as they have transitioned into their new home. It has not always been easy, the communication between the staff and myself has been excellent, I always know what they are doing
to help my parents settle in. I visit often, and there is a warm welcome everytime. There are a wide range of activities, the residents are given a timetable so they always know what is happening for the week. The home has been very accommodating with regards to food, Mum & Dad are vegetarians, they have had several chats with the chef, and, after a few false starts, are now very happy with what is on offer. It has not been an easy few months, but with the help of everyone at Melford Court they are now settled and happy.
Reply from Lynn Pereira, Marketing and Content Executive at Melford CourtThank you for sharing your experience. Care staff are brilliant. Nothing too much trouble. Had one incident with a nurse telling me mum she didn't have to go to hospital. She (mum) smelt really bad she had CDIFF. I overrode her, and my mum although bed ridden is happy and well. If I had listened to the nurse my mum would be dead 1 1/2 years
ago. Prices could be a little lower especially when some residents hardly eat much food. Nurses should listen to carers as they know that residents need.

I cannot speak highly enough of Stowlangtoft Hall and the exceptional care they provided for my mother during her final months. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her with genuine warmth, dignity, and compassion. The building and peaceful surroundings really add to the welcoming environment,
making it feel less like a care facility and more like a home.
The level of care was outstanding. The team were attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure Mum was comfortable and well looked after. They made her feel valued as a person, not just a patient. The chef cooked her special meals, as she could only eat soft food, and he popped in often to see if she'd liked it.
As a daughter, I felt completely supported. The staff communicated openly with me and made me feel welcome when I visited.
I would recommend Stowlangtoft Hall to any family looking for compassionate, high-quality care. They made a profound difference to us that I will always be grateful for.

Our Mum has just enjoyed every aspect of Christmas at Halstead Hall. The staff were amazing and she thoroughly enjoyed all of the opportunities offered to her. From making Christmas tree decorations to singing carols, she enjoyed every minute. Christmas Luncheon was a superb three course lunch, and
while we didn't share it with her, it smelt amazing.

The caring attentive staff went all out to ensure everyone present had a wonderful Christmas time.

Our family has had a very positive experience with this care home. The staff consistently treat my parent living with dementia with dignity and respect, and they take the time to understand their needs and communicate with us clearly. We have felt reassured that they are being cared for safely and compassionately.

We

have also noticed a significant improvement in our other parent since their move from hospital into the home. Their physical and especially their cognitive health have improved, and they are much more settled and comfortable than they were previously. The staff provide appropriate friendly support without being intrusive, and the structured routine appears to have helped with both confidence and stability.

The home has a calm atmosphere, and we appreciate the regular updates from staff and their willingness to address any questions promptly. We feel that both parents are being looked after thoughtfully and professionally.

My Mum is a resident in Horkesley Manor and I cannot speak highly enough for all the care kindness consideration and love she is receiving. I was worried that she would miss being at home this Christmas but thanks to the staff she now thinks of Horkesley as home. Everyone went above and beyond to give
them all the best of times and the staff gave residents gifts in case no one would receive any, my Mum received the most beautiful hand beaded picture of an owl which they had found out was her favourite animal and we found out that a staff member had made it herself in her own time. Brought my mum to tears of joy.
How lucky I am that I can go to work and feel this secure that my mum is being looked after in such a caring way. There's a happy feeling from everyone working there and if you have to take a family member somewhere for care , you couldn't find a better place . Thank you to everyone that's working here for giving me invaluable piece of mind and most importantly loving my Mum
