My Father In-Law was residing in this home with stage 4 Glioblastoma which is a form of brain cancer. He is currently bed bound with the assistance of 2 carers and 1 carer for meals. He is currently on a level 6 food which is soft and bitesize with normal fluids. This food diet is quite strict with him not being allowed certain foods and all food has to be fork mashable and cut into easy to bite/swallow pieces due to a risk of choking.
He is to be sat at a 90° angle for all foods and fluids. We have attended the home on a number of occasions and he was lying down eating foods that he's NOT allowed and when I said something I was told by the chef "well what do you want for him then". I don't want anything for him, I want what he needs, which is a soft and bitesize diet. When we report on certain nights he's in pain we are told he will be seen shortly.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we are sorry to hear that your family's experience at Ford Place did not meet your expectations during such a difficult time. We appreciate that you have since spoken with us directly, and we are grateful for the opportunity to better understand...
I have recently been in hospital followed by isolation due to a stem cell transplant and was naturally worried re my brother who is in Ford place Nursing Home Thetford because I was unable to visit or check on him for several weeks. The home reassured me that he was in safe hands and they would take good care of him so I didn't worry. I was kept fully informed via email and phone calls, not only to update on my brother but to check on my progress too so they could reassure him I was ok. I cannot fault the care and compassion we feel as a family and it made my difficult journey so much better knowing he was in safe hands. When visiting I am always greeted with welcoming smiles and they know me which makes it feel like a family environment.I cannot thank Ford Place enough for all they do.
Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased the team at Ford Place could reassure and support you during such a difficult time, while keeping your brother safe and well cared for. It means a great deal to know you feel part of the Ford Place family, and your kind words will be shared with everyone.
I would be happy to recommend Ford place. It's a very hard decision to make when your loved ones can no longer live independently. I am confident that here they are well cared for.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We're so pleased to hear you feel confident in the care your parents receive at Ford Place. We know how difficult that decision can be, so it means a great deal that you feel reassured by the kindness and support of our team.
Would recommend to anyone needing a nursing home
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We're so pleased you always feel welcome when visiting and that your relative is so well cared for. Your kind recommendation means a great deal to the whole team.
I can't praise the staff enough they are always helpful and nothing is to much trouble and they have been really good with mumaa she can be stubborn .The warm welcome she received was so emotional for her .Mum is very happy at the home and staff try to encourage her to join in .if there is any problems like the driver is needed or a change in beds they keep me informed and also with anything else that is going on .
Thank you for your kind feedback. We're so pleased to hear your mum felt such a warm welcome and is happy at the home. It's lovely to know our team's care, encouragement, and communication have helped you both feel supported.
Always feel that the team are interested and caring about their 'charges'. It is a good feeling to walk through the front door and be greeted by smiling faces and be addressed by by newly given name TROUBLE. Our son, Simon, is made to feel at home and is comfortable in Ford Place.
A special mention for all of those staff members who will visit their wrath on me if I fail to mention them!
Thank you for your lovely and light-hearted review. We're so pleased Simon feels comfortable and at home at Ford Place, and that you're always greeted with such warmth when you visit. Your kind words will certainly be shared with the whole team!
The Activity team do a very good job but I feel more funds could be made available as they often try to plan events and have had to cancel as they do not have sufficient money. Busy residents are happy residents!
Thank you for your feedback. We're so pleased to hear your overall experience has been excellent and that you appreciate the great work of our Activity Team. We're sorry to hear your concerns about call bell response times. Please rest assured that we regularly review our procedures and will look...
Dad went into Ford Place straight from hospital. Mum and I visited the home the day before Dad went in, and was shown his room and around the facilities. Unfortunately, he wasn't in there for long before he passed away. But we found all the staff very friendly and professional, and we can't thank them enough for all their help and support.
Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words. We're so glad our team at Ford Place could offer support and care during a difficult time, and we send our sincere condolences to you and your family.
As a family we are so thankful that Dad was able to spend his last couple of months at Ford Place Nursing Home. It was a worry as he had been in another care home since 2018 and was so loved by the staff there but his care needs meant he needed more for his last few weeks. We did our research and chose Ford Place for him. I cannot put into words how lucky we feel that they were able to take Dad. The kindness and care shown to Dad was beautiful. We were kept updated about every single thing, even if it was a new prescription for a cream or a bed sore. If there are any concerns they will call you no matter the time of day or night, early hours of the morning etc. All the staff are amazing, the house is beautifully clean, the grounds are beautiful for the residents who are able to get out into the fresh air. The socail media page showing the activities that are put on melts my heart and I wish that Dad had been well enough to take part. Dad died with absolute dignity here. 100% recommended.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We're truly honoured to have cared for your dad during his final months, and it means a great deal to know you felt supported and informed throughout. Your kind words about our staff, the home, and the care provided are deeply appreciated. It was a...
This is a nursing home that goes the extra mile! My husband was a resident for 5 months for palliative care. He was treated with the utmost kindness and patience despite him being very grumpy at times..the staff also looked after me. His friends wanted to bring the "pub" to him and the staff enabled that to happen. Other visitors commented that it was the best nursing home they had ever been to and I can 100% recommend it.
Thank you for sharing such heartfelt words. We're so pleased our team could make your husband's time with us as comfortable and personal as possible, and it's lovely to hear those special moments, like bringing the "pub" to him, meant so much. Your recommendation truly means a lot to us.
Had nothing but a positive experience at Ford Place. The staff are all so kind. There is always laughter and a happy atmosphere around the place. My brother is not the easiest person to deal with, but they have been so patient and kind to him. He has improved so much in his mindset due to the care and kindness he has received. 100% recommended.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear your brother has settled in so well and that our team's kindness and patience have made such a positive difference. It means so much to know you'd recommend Ford Place.
I think this is such a great home as the staff are the greatest and nicest I have ever witnessed. They truly make it a pleasure to visit and they are so caring to my brother-in-law, I couldn't wish for a better place
Thank you for your lovely words. We're so pleased to hear how much our team's care and kindness mean to you and your brother-in-law, it's wonderful to know his home feels like the right place.
After my mum arrived she was treated with the upmost care and dignity. She had quite complex medical needs and was receiving end of life care. I cannot praise the Manager , the Nurses, the Activities Team, and all the staff who took care of my mum enough, they were wonderful. She was only there just over a month before she passed away but I know that all her needs were met at all times and for that I am forever grateful. Having never seen inside a nursing home before, I was taken aback by the facilities that they had, the cleanliness of the place and the can do attitude of all the staff. Thank you all my the bottom of my heart for your professionalism, support and care for my mother and myself.
Thank you for your kind words. We're truly grateful to have been able to support your mum and your family during such a difficult time. Knowing you felt her needs were met and that our team made a difference means a great deal. We'll be sure to share your thanks with everyone involved in her care.
Special thanks to all the nurses and staff who cared for Mum in her final days. They made what was a very difficult time for us as calming as possible.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was our privilege to care for your mum, and we're glad we could bring some comfort to you all during such a difficult time.
All the staff seem very friendly, patient and caring. On my previous visit I was able to eat lunch with mum in the dining room, and joined in one of the afternoon activities which are provided. My mum is settling in now and as a family, we really appreciate the supporting help that Ford Place provides. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind feedback. We're glad to hear your mum is settling in well and that you've also enjoyed getting involved in the home's life. Please don't hesitate to share any suggestions with the team on how we can continue to support you and your mum.
My dad was in Ford Place for almost 2 months and sadly passed away yesterday. I cannot praise the care home enough. The staff were lovely and friendly and were very accommodating. He was kept comfortable until the end, and was treated with such dignity during his passing.
Thank you for your kind words. We're grateful for your appreciation and pleased that our team provided comfort, dignity, and support during your dad's time with us.
My father-in-law stayed at Ford Place Thetford during end-of-life care. From the start of his care in December to the 18th February when he passed the staff were outstanding. The manager was attentive and supportive in every situation we went through. The home administrator was so genuinely caring and supportive throughout the whole time of his care. The nurses were so compassionate and caring towards my father-in-law and they showed him dignity and respect until the very end. I will always be thankful to all of the staff at Ford Place for the outstanding care he received. I will always be thankful to the nurses for the respect and care they gave to him. His last hours of care from one of the nurses in particular will always be appreciated and remembered forever. I am so grateful for all the support and care from all the staff at Ford Place you are all truly amazing people.

My stepdad was a resident at Ford Place Care Home in Thetford receiving end-of-life care. The staff were outstanding with the care he received and the support they gave me. The staff went above and beyond to care for my stepdad's needs every single day. He passed away on the 18th February and I was so overwhelmed and appreciative of the care, support and compassion the nurse who cared for him in the last hours of his life showed to myself, my aunt and my stepdad. I will always be thankful for choosing this home to care for my stepdad as the staff here are all so genuinely caring and I will miss seeing their happy inviting faces every day.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're happy to have provided such care for your stepdad and supported your family. Your appreciation for our staff's compassion means so much.

My mum was at Ford Place for 10 days of palliative care. She was made very comfortable in the short time she was there. The manager and staff went above and beyond their ability to care for my mum. Also made time to talk to us explaining everything as mum's care went along. Thank you.
Thank you for taking a moment to leave us such a warm and positive review. Your feedback means a great deal to us and we will be sure to share your comments with the team. Best wishes.
