Overall happy with my mother's care . She seems settled and happy.
Only concern is the communication as I hadn't been informed about a change in medication and I wasn't consulted about her being taken off site by another resident family for lunch.

I think this is a safe guarding concern as she is wheelchair bound and needs assistance getting in and out of the chair and with the bathroom.

Thank you for your kind review. We make it a priority to ensure that the residents are settled and happy and that they have the opportunity to take part in activities that will enhance their wellbeing. With a new manager in place, communication is a main focus on the current development plan. I...

The staff are always polite and friendly. My mother has lived here for over eleven years now, I have seen many many changes during that time. One of the issues I have though, is the amount of managers The Grange has had. I find this unsettling for residents, relatives and staff. My wish would be for continuity in a manager.

The Grange is a very friendly and caring home where my sister Christine is very happy.
She receives good interaction with the staff and they are very patient and helpful to all her needs.
The food is very good and they pay attention to her dietary needs as well as her well being.
Since Christine has been a resident we do not have any concerns for her care ,safety and well being.

She has joined the choir and is often taken out on day trips.

My mother is so happy at The Grange. Her physical needs are all met by kind, caring staff using excellent facilities onsite. Her room is large and well lit with lots of her personal possessions around her. She has a beautiful tree outside her window which forms part of well kept, colourful gardens. This is very important as flowers and outside space has always been her love. She does not spend much time in her room, however, as there are always activities going on and guests coming into the home. Also they have day trips out to garden centres and the seaside. One of the many activities that Mum enjoys is The One Voice Choir. It revives many memories for her and creates new experiences when they perform to relations and friends. The staff are wonderful and always have time to sit and talk to her if she feels low.

I enjoy visiting Mum in her home as it feels like walking into a family home where everyone is friendly and caring. The Grange staff do a wonderful job!

I looked at several care homes in the area and for me and my dad The Grange ticked all the boxes. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a friendly, positive, homely atmosphere. It's clean, well maintained and has a lovely garden with seating at the rear.
The best bit about this home is the warm and caring staff. They're great, amazing in fact. Nothing is ever too much trouble! They're always free for a chat and happy to update me about what dad has been up to. I visit regularly and whenever I do there are always carers interacting with residents which is lovely to see.
Oh and dinner always looks and smells great!

Lastly, my dad is happy. He always says to me "they're a good bunch here!" This obviously means a lot to me and my family.

I have always been pleased with the staff and well being of aunt when visiting her. The only negative feedback I have is that I feel that the internal/external doors should be automated to allow one person to push a wheelchair through. Also I would like to see ID being warn by the staff or name tags.

From the start of 2025 to her passing on 18 June, my mother-in-law received truly outstanding care at The Grange. The care home manager, went above and beyond-not just tending to physical needs, but nurturing her spiritual wellbeing and honoring her worship with great compassion. During four hospital stays due to ongoing health issues, she was always welcomed back with love and warmth, which meant so much to her and our family. The atmosphere she cultivates-where residents feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for-is rare and deeply appreciated. Her exceptional leadership extends to the staff as well, creating a home where kindness and dignity prevail. We'll always be grateful for the comfort and support shown to my mother-in-law during her final months. The Grange is a remarkable place.

We would 100% recommended the Grange to any family members or friends. I would not have chosen the Grange with the previous manager. The manager made a massive difference, to us as a family.

Reply from Rachel Parks, Manager at The Grange

Thank you so much for your kind words, I will be sure to hand these compliment to the care team. We were honoured to support your mother-in-law during this time and to spend time getting to know her and your family. We wish you all the best.

My mother moved into The Grange in July 2024 after suffering mobility problems at her home following a fall in January 2024. Her overall health and mobility have improved since the move, and she is much happier in herself and does not suffer from loneliness like she used to back at home. She had a setback following another fall in March 2025, but following another hospital stay, the care home staff have rehabilitated her with help from physio to the point where she can stand! Excellent work!

I have moved my mum from another care home to The Grange. Since she has been here, she is so much happier and relaxed. The staff are very friendly & helpful and nothing is a problem; they are there as soon as Mum calls. Mum has been taken out to town and out for lunch, and the food in the home is hot, fresh and edible. The care home never smells; it is so clean, the room is clean, large, and feels like home. The entertainment is great, Mum has had her hair done every week in the salon. I am so pleased I moved Mum; I have my mum back.

The Grange is an excellent care home, which I find is very clean and very well run. They really look after my husband. He is very happy and well cared for by all the wonderful staff and management who do an amazing job. They are friendly, helpful, kind and very professional. I am extremely happy that he is being cared for by a wonderful team. He really enjoys his trips out and all the activities that they provide. His room is always clean, as is the rest of the home. The facilities are excellent. I am very happy to know that they are taking such good care of him and have found the perfect home.

The overall experience of the care home is good. The food is varied and usually good. The only frustration at times is if an item is identified as being of benefit to my wife I normally have to source this myself e.g. a V pillow. Most of the staff are caring as is the manager and we often chat about the ongoing needs of my wife.

My mother entered The Grange for respite after breaking her arm at the age of 92 but ended up staying for almost 5 months. From the first day and every day of her stay, every single member of staff displayed the utmost kindness and consideration towards her. They couldn't do enough to make her stay as pleasant as possible.

We were able to visit at any time and there were lots of activities going on, outside visits and shows at the home. My mother is now fully recovered and back in her own home, but I would thoroughly recommend The Grange to anyone considering a care home for a relative.

My mother has been in The Grange for 16 months. The management and staff are excellent and keep me informed of any problems and issues with Mum. All staff are very helpful and very approachable and if they can help they will, without any hesitation. My mum is very settled in The Grange and was very happy to return there after a short spell in hospital, so that was a very good sign of how good The Grange is. Thank you to all.

We looked at 5 Runwood homes before choosing The Grange where our father is now a resident. It really stood out when shown around by the young professional manageress, the friendliness, warmth and caring approach which is reflected in the staff.
The decor throughout is lovely, bright and clean.

As far as communication, although when we have asked verbally information is forthcoming, but we have never received anything in writing or email... no welcome letter, care plan or what medication was prescribed.
