Very nice home. Would recommend this home to friends and family. If I was able to choose a residential home, Humfrey Lodge would be the one.

Mum has been at Humfrey Lodge for almost 2 years, she is one of the younger residents at 75, and lives with Alzheimer's disease. Her needs have changed throughout this time, and the staff have supported and cared for her with respect and kindness. There are regular activities, and Mum is encouraged to take part where she can, she particularly enjoys the guest music entertainers, and the family social events, of which there are many.
As a family, we have found the Humfrey Lodge to be supportive and they have helped us navigate communication with health care professionals and social workers. They were particularly supportive in the early months of Mum moving, and they appreciate that to move a loved one into a care home is a challenging time for everyone involved.

We particularly appreciate being able to visit Mum at any time, and being able to take along our dog, which Mum finds comforting. Mum enjoys the home cooked food, which includes traditional favourites and delicious puddings.

We visit a close friend on a regular basis and from what we have observed is residents are treated well, and there is always somebody that you can speak to or ask for help. It is very clean. Asked about value for money on survey but that is not something we are involved in.

My dad was living quite a lonely life before he looked at the care home. He decided to give the home a 'trial' run, and that was a year ago. He really hasn't looked back since moving in. It has given him a new lease of life, loving all the activities and companionship. The home is spotless and the staff are exceptional; they are professional, very caring and fun. He enjoys the trips out, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. He is very happy living there.

I have been very impressed with Humfrey Lodge staff. When we first made the enquiry and initial visit they were very helpful. Since my mum arrived they have been very encouraging and supportive. We have some experience of other care homes with different features and this has been far better.

The home feels very welcoming and the staff are all extremely friendly and caring. I would recommend it to any person in need. Well done.

My mum went into Humfrey Lodge initially for a period of respite care. From the outset, when I first visited to tour the home, the staff were incredibly obliging, helpful and supportive. Mum is now a permanent resident and is thriving in Humfrey Lodge. She has developed lovely relationships with the staff - from the manager to the cleaners and every member of staff is always helpful and obliging. We are so delighted that mum has been fortunate enough to find a place and now settled at Humfrey Lodge.

My experience visiting Humfrey Lodge is mainly good although my mother would rather be at home which is probably common but impossible. The care and treatment she receives at Humfrey Lodge is without doubt the next best thing. The management are non-judgemental and extremely helpful. The carers have a very difficult job, they go about their work with good humour, kindness and above all, patience and dedication. Overall the care home is good.

All the staff are friendly, helpful and very kind to Mum. She is happy at Humfrey Lodge and interacts with all the staff. Humfrey Lodge keeps me in touch with Mum's progress anytime she needs the doctor if she has had any worries. This way we can get any problems swiftly resolved. I can't thank the staff at the home enough for their care of Mum.

I spent 6 weeks in Humfrey Lodge, May to the middle of June for care having a broken ankle. All staff and carers were so good and looked after everyone in the home so well. I had never been in a care home before but l would highly recommend Humfrey Lodge. I really enjoyed my stay even with a broken ankle.

My mum is very happy at Humfrey Lodge. She enjoys the craft. The activities and other social events and outings. The carers are always considerate and treat the residents with the utmost respect. The managers are always available and willing to discuss any concerns. They review the resident's requirements on a regular basis with us.

My mother-in-law has been a resident since last July 2023, and actually asked if she could stay in Humfrey Lodge after being in respite there just before. She has mixed dementia, and her needs are met with love and care from the staff and the homeliness of Humfrey Lodge is just perfect for her. Nothing is too much trouble and we always feel we can visit at any time and feel welcomed ourselves. We had a carer at home before, so going into a home was a big step, but it was the best decision. Shout out to one member of staff particularly who is so good with the activities she does with the residents, and her enthusiasm is infectious. Having said that all the carers are so kind and the manager and her admin staff are brilliant too.

My mum has been at Humfrey Lodge for over 3 years. First as respite and then permanent. What makes this place special is the staff who care for all the residents and the activities they do to ensure residents are stimulated. There is encouragement to join in and take part. Added to a comfortable lounge and dining room where residents if they can are joined in.

My father has been a resident at Humfrey Lodge since October 2022.
During this period of time, he settled in very well, considering the emotionally upsetting circumstances.
The home is run as a home-from-home, with each resident being treated as an individual with staff always making themselves familiar with each resident and any family members.
The manager and her team are always welcoming, professional, kind and caring; they listen to any concerns or queries that may arise.
The manager especially has been very supportive over the past year and always follows up on anything that is a concern

The home is looking lovely, fresh and homely from recent decorations work, always clean, fresh and warm. Thank you to a great team - keep up the good work.

My mother is just coming up to one year in Humfrey Lodge. She is bed-bound and needs 24/7 care. The manager and staff are all excellent, but the home itself is looking rather tired, and the facilities for the staff I believe could do with updating as their job is difficult and they need to be appreciated with good working conditions.

I've been visiting every weekend since the end of February 2023 and found management and staff very polite and helpful and so willing to please. Cannot fault them.

And the main thing is my good friend is very happy and content living there and gets on well with all the staff, and because she's happy to be there that's good enough for me.

I’m Weronika, and for the past 13 years, I’ve been passionate about making a difference in the lives of the residents I work with. I love getting them involved in daily activities and seeing the positive impact it has on their well-being. For me, there's nothing more rewarding than making someone smile and helping them feel fulfilled.

Even though I’ve moved into more of a leadership role, I can’t imagine giving up my care duties completely. That’s why I still keep one care shift a week, as it serves as a reminder of my humble beginnings and the heart of why I do what I do.

Hi, I'm Adam, I have worked for Humfrey Lodge for 16 years. I've always enjoyed my role because it gives me the chance to care for others and connect with them on a deeper level. I find real fulfilment in making a difference in people's lives, but I've also realised that it’s just as much about the kindness I share—it costs nothing but means everything.

One of the things I really love doing is taking photos of the residents at the home. In fact, I’m the official photographer! Capturing special moments through photography not only allows me to express myself but also helps preserve the memories for everyone. It’s a beautiful way for me to give back while doing something I love.

I also have a small garden in the manager's office, which I’ve enjoyed tending to. One of the plants there is named Beatrice, a little nod to my love for nature.

Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, collecting coins and stamps, and, of course, gardening. These hobbies help me unwind and connect with the world in a more personal way.
