Mother in law has been in Humfrey Lodge since 2006. Excellent care all round, approachable, caring, friendly staff. Any concerns we had (not many) are dealt with very quickly. Bright comfortable surroundings, activities for residents - staff know them personally, not just 'a body taking up a room'. Humfrey Lodge is brilliant.

My mum has been in this home for the last 13 years. The care and attention she has received in this time has been excellent. The management and the staff at the home do an excellent job and cannot be faulted. I can honestly say, without the care my mum has received in this time she would not be here still.

I visit my nan as much as I can. You never have to let them know before arriving, regardless of what time you arrive. All the staff will go above and beyond for the comfort and dignity of the residents and are caring and so thoughtful. My nan has been treated as a family member and not just as another patient.

I would highly recommend HUMFREY LODGE.

All my family cannot praise all the staff from the Manager, Carers, kitchen staff and Domestics highly enough, they all without exception treated my Nan with courtesy and respect at all times.
It was said she would not have received better care than if she was the Queen herself.

Sadly after 5 very happy years spent at Humfrey Lodge and at an age of 105, she decided to pass to another world and be at peace.

Simply Thank you to All at Humpfrey Lodge, what more can I say

My mother has just died, aged 95, and has been at Humfrey Lodge for the past six years. The staff have always been wonderful. Very caring, respectful and professional.
Alzheimer's is a very distressing disease and can make the sufferer very difficult to care for, but they have always done so with patience and cheerfulness.

I cannot thank them enough.

My mother has been here for 6 weeks. I am satisfied with the management team and staff etc for looking after her during the stay. Knowing in my mind that the staff passing her room just call in to make sure she is okay, early every hour of the day, also making sure she eats her meals which we could not do at home.

In the main, I would say my Mum was cared for and kept safe. I did not find a consistency regarding her dementia. She was not encouraged to eat the treats that were always bought for her, I would often throw away out of date items. I would also have to hang up clothes that were otherwise screwed up in a drawer. In the last few weeks of my Mum's life, her clothes were dirty, she had food stuck to her clothes and I expressed my concern about personal hygiene. Most of the carers genuinely do care.

I believe the main concern to be, as a care home for people with dementia, although at varying levels, everyone is treated at the same level and not as individuals. This may well be due to a lack of resources or internal communication. It was very disappointing that no representative from Humfrey Lodge attended my Mum's funeral, despite saying they would.

My mum has been in care in Humfrey Lodge since 2009. During all that time she has been very well cared for. The staff have been kind and caring, friendly and helpful sand always there when needed. I am not able to comment on meals because I haven't been around at the time, but the food provided at social events has been very good and well presented. Special Occasions have been celebrated with suitably provided food stuffs.

Managers have come and gone, but in all cases, if we have had a problem, it has been sorted out immediately. Humfrey Lodge will always have my grateful thanks for looking after my mum.

Since mum has been at Humphrey Lodge, either myself or her daughter visit most days and we have found the staff to be caring and attentive to her needs, nothing is too much trouble. It may not appear to be the most glamorous care home but we feel it is a good homely, safe and friendly environment for mum, close to where we live.

April DometitaJob Title:Home Manager

Welcome to Humfrey Lodge! My name is April and I have been with Runwood Homes for 14 years. I began my career as a nurse back in the Philippines. I started as a health care assistant at Humfrey Lodge which motivated me to learn more about care and management. I have been at Humfrey for 13 years; I started as a care assistant at Humfrey Lodge working my way to Deputy Manager and now taking a big leap as the Home Manager. I look forward to welcoming you to our lovely home.

Hi, I'm Jasmine Reed.

I have been a part of Humfrey Lodge for the past 24 years. My journey began as a carer, where I gained invaluable experience that ultimately led me to become a Care Team Leader. With my hands-on knowledge, I make it a priority to ensure that the highest standards of care are consistently maintained at Humfrey Lodge. My dedication to supporting the well-being of our residents and leading our care team drives me to always strive for excellence in everything we do.

I’m Weronika, and for the past 13 years, I’ve been passionate about making a difference in the lives of the residents I work with. I love getting them involved in daily activities and seeing the positive impact it has on their well-being. For me, there's nothing more rewarding than making someone smile and helping them feel fulfilled.

Even though I’ve moved into more of a leadership role, I can’t imagine giving up my care duties completely. That’s why I still keep one care shift a week, as it serves as a reminder of my humble beginnings and the heart of why I do what I do.

Adam Bien

Hi, I'm Adam, I have worked for Humfrey Lodge for 16 years. I've always enjoyed my role because it gives me the chance to care for others and connect with them on a deeper level. I find real fulfilment in making a difference in people's lives, but I've also realised that it’s just as much about the kindness I share—it costs nothing but means everything.

One of the things I really love doing is taking photos of the residents at the home. In fact, I’m the official photographer! Capturing special moments through photography not only allows me to express myself but also helps preserve the memories for everyone. It’s a beautiful way for me to give back while doing something I love.

Saju Thomas

Hi, I’m Saju. For the past three years, I’ve been passionate about reaching out to people, helping them feel comfortable, and ensuring they feel safe and cared for in our home. It’s a truly rewarding experience to provide that sense of comfort.

I also have a small garden in the manager's office, which I’ve enjoyed tending to. One of the plants there is named Beatrice, a little nod to my love for nature.

Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, collecting coins and stamps, and, of course, gardening. These hobbies help me unwind and connect with the world in a more personal way.

Hi, I'm Maria! I have been an Administrator for 15 years, and I truly enjoy helping others and working closely with people. My role allows me to connect with various individuals and contribute to their success, which is incredibly fulfilling.

Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family, baking delicious treats, and travelling to new places. I also enjoy reading books, as they offer a great way to unwind and learn new things.

I'm passionate about creating positive experiences for those around me, both professionally and personally.
