Humfrey Lodge

The care home is clean and bright and has just recently been redecorated to a high standard.

My mother-in-law has been a resident since last July 2023, and actually asked if she could stay in Humfrey Lodge after being in respite there just before. She has mixed dementia, and her needs are met with love and care from the staff and the homeliness of Humfrey Lodge is just perfect for her. Nothing is too much trouble and we always feel we can visit at any time and feel welcomed ourselves. We had a carer at home before, so going into a home was a big step, but it was the best decision. Shout out to one member of staff particularly who is so good with the activities she does with the residents, and her enthusiasm is infectious. Having said that all the carers are so kind and the manager and her admin staff are brilliant too.

My mum has been at Humfrey Lodge for over 3 years. First as respite and then permanent. What makes this place special is the staff who care for all the residents and the activities they do to ensure residents are stimulated. There is encouragement to join in and take part. Added to a comfortable lounge and dining room where residents if they can are joined in.

For the short time my mother was in the home she was looked after very well. She was always clean. The staff and management put your mind at ease.

The home is looking lovely, fresh and homely from recent decorations work, always clean, fresh and warm. Thank you to a great team - keep up the good work.

My mother is just coming up to one year in Humfrey Lodge. She is bed-bound and needs 24/7 care. The manager and staff are all excellent, but the home itself is looking rather tired, and the facilities for the staff I believe could do with updating as their job is difficult and they need to be appreciated with good working conditions.

And the main thing is my good friend is very happy and content living there and gets on well with all the staff, and because she's happy to be there that's good enough for me.

The staff are always friendly, considerate and helpful. They treat my mother with respect and compassion. The management has an open-door policy and does its utmost to address any matters raised. I cannot recommend the staff at Humfrey Lodge highly enough.

My sister has been a resident at Humfrey Lodge for some time now and I cannot fault the care and attention she is getting. Due to distance, I am unable to visit her on a regular basis but the wonderful staff there are always updating me on her condition. Whenever I phone they are only too happy to chat about her and speaking to her myself she appears to be happy there which is a great relief to me.

Knowing that she is safe and cared for daily is indeed a great comfort to me and my family.

Very friendly staff that take great effort to acknowledge my mother and all residents on passing in corridors and lounges. Professionally run, very clean, and nothing is too much trouble. Very welcoming to friends and relatives. The only criticism, rooms are generally very small and have very little wardrobe space.

My father has been so well looked after by all of the staff at the home. All of them are loving and caring. They are so dedicated to all of the residents - wonderful. I am always confident that Dad is getting the care and attention I expect. I will always be so grateful for the care and dedication they have shown to Dad. PS, they deserve higher pay for their work.

Very welcoming environment. Staff are always approachable and willing to assist at all times. They always can be seen interacting with residents. They show interest in what residents do and say. Such nice surroundings; pictures, seating areas, gardens, furnishings and etc. The dining room looks appealing and inviting. Overall good standard of cleanliness. My mother-in-law appears well cared for now rather than when living alone. Great care home overall.

My mum has been in Humfrey Lodge for nearly 6 years. As her Alzheimer's has progressed she has continued to have excellent care from all staff and carers. I also receive very good support as I struggle sometimes with her condition.

Lovely staff at Hunfrey Lodge always friendly and cheerful. Mum and Dad have lived here for a year and a half now and are very well looked after safe and secure. Activities are stimulating affording more interaction than they had at their own home.

I am very happy that Mum is now in secure environment with a very understanding carers who give her the time and support she needs.

Both my parents have been residents of Humfrey Lodge. My mother was short term and I was so pleased with it that when my father was in need of long-term I didn't even need to look anywhere else. Well done team.

Such a lovely atmosphere - caring and companionable. The living space seems light, airy and cheerful and all the residents, especially my brother, seem very happy, calm and contented. My brother also tells me that the food is excellent! I am so grateful that he is in such a kind environment.

Could not have found a nicer place for mum to stay. All the staff are brilliant, caring, kind, thoughtful and friendly. Thank you all.
