Lime Court is a 44-bed care home, including four double rooms, spread over two floors, with lift access and five separate themed lounges. The home specialises in dementia and care for elderly people, situated near the seafront and within easy reach of local shops and amenities of Dovercourt.

The home has a six bed private wing with en-suites which was opened in October 2012. The purpose-built care home offers a superb lifestyle for its residents with a reputation in the community for the warmth of the staff and the care provided.

Lime Court are very proud that it was the pilot for the Food First programme, which alleviates the need of medicated supplements. Residents enjoy their meals in a well-lit, spacious central dining room, and menus are tailored to residents requests. Feedback is sought from residents about any changes.

A central recreational courtyard area (accessible by wheelchair users), with raised beds, is enjoyed by residents and families, along with a side garden and large patio area. Together, staff, family and friends have created a reminiscence lounge with items from the early 1900's to present day.

The care home receives regular visits from hairdressers, opticians, chiropodists and a therapist who offers massages in a sensory room. A full time activity coordinator arranges activities which include regular outings to local attractions, live entertainment, knitting clubs, card clubs, bingo, pet therapy, plus many more. If there are specific requests for activities these are accommodated.

My review is for everyone at Lime Court. The staff are excellent in every way. They do a good job and I bow my hat off to them. The dedication of the staff I just can't fault them. I am very happy to have my mother in Lime Court, I praise your home all the time as I am very happy with the care my mother
gets from your staff.

I found the staff very helpful and friendly, always helpful with different foods when mum didn't fancy what was available and kept her clean and comfortable.

My experience of my Husband's care was that he was monitored carefully and as his needs changed, so did the level of care he required. On occasion when I felt the care to be inappropriate my concerns were listed to and addressed. This care was then reviewed again and changed.

My mum was a resident at Lime Court Feb 2017 to May 2017. She was well cared for by all the staff from the managers to carers. All staff worked to settle mum in and she was made to feel welcome, Lime Court was an excellent care home with a very caring workforce.

My mother went from "independent living" on her own, had an unexplained collapse and after a hospital stay lost all her independence and required 24/7 care. From the initial hospital visit to assess suitability to the present time, Aug 17 - Jan 18, the management team and support workers have been brilliant
with all of us and mum is well cared for and needs met. This has been a shocking time for mum and all of us and team at Lime Court have made things better.

After a fall in her warden controlled 24-hour careline council run home and left for 3 days on the floor, my mother in law spent 4 weeks in hospital. I then got her into Lime Court where she has been exceptionally well looked after and loved by all the staff. She could not be in a better place, thank
you all very much.

Mum was made welcome from the second she arrived.
Despite being a terminal lung cancer patient, she really picked up during her time at Lime Court.
This was down to the staff, no doubt. Their attentiveness and professionalism - but warmth as well - was very evident.
I felt absolutely confident that
Mum was being looked after very well at Lime Court.
Thank you.

From day one we have been made very welcome with a warm reception.
There is a very good atmosphere. Management ensure that all new staff treat all residents with love and respect. Activities are very well led by the organiser, who has a lovely manner.

My Mum was a resident at Lime Court for almost 4 years but recently passed away 2nd July 2017. I cannot praise, every single one of the staff, enough for the excellent care she received. On-going training of the staff is of such a high standard. Every person is so dedicated to their work and to the
care of the residents - in every possible section. The warmth that "oozes" from the management is second-to-none and that radiates throughout the staff. Such excellent teamwork.

We want to express our gratitude for the loving care mum received throughout her stay to the management team, office staff, all senior staff, all the carers, the laundry, the housekeeping, the cooks and kitchen staff, entertainment staff and maintenance.

During her palliative care, it could have been 'private'... it was outstanding and beyond belief which made mum's passing very comfortable and peaceful and helped us get through an awful time. They are all 'Angels' and deserve huge recognition. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.849)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.849) out of 10 for Lime Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.849 for Lime Court is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 259 Ratings = 4.849
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lime Court is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
