Lime Court is a 44-bed care home, including four double rooms, spread over two floors, with lift access and five separate themed lounges. The home specialises in dementia and care for elderly people, situated near the seafront and within easy reach of local shops and amenities of Dovercourt.

The home has a six bed private wing with en-suites which was opened in October 2012. The purpose-built care home offers a superb lifestyle for its residents with a reputation in the community for the warmth of the staff and the care provided.

Lime Court are very proud that it was the pilot for the Food First programme, which alleviates the need of medicated supplements. Residents enjoy their meals in a well-lit, spacious central dining room, and menus are tailored to residents requests. Feedback is sought from residents about any changes.

A central recreational courtyard area (accessible by wheelchair users), with raised beds, is enjoyed by residents and families, along with a side garden and large patio area. Together, staff, family and friends have created a reminiscence lounge with items from the early 1900's to present day.

The care home receives regular visits from hairdressers, opticians, chiropodists and a therapist who offers massages in a sensory room. A full time activity coordinator arranges activities which include regular outings to local attractions, live entertainment, knitting clubs, card clubs, bingo, pet therapy, plus many more. If there are specific requests for activities these are accommodated.

I was unable to see my stepmother because of the Corona Virus, but I was kept informed of everything and I know she was well cared for, right to the end. Lovely caring staff. My brother went with my stepmother when she went into Lime Court and he was shown everything, even had a lovely meal there to
welcome her into the home.
Reply from suz moore, Manager at Lime CourtThank you, A P, for these kind words. It has indeed been a very tough year, I am so pleased that you feel that you were fully updated and supported.

Lime Court is the kindest and caring care home I've ever come across. They always go the extra mile and nothing is ever too much.
They really do lookout for all of their residents.
There are always so many fun activities, entertainment and themes going on.
They have all the residents singing and
dancing and just really enjoy their day.
I'm so so happy that my nannie is in their care.
The pandemic has been extremely tough but they all smile through and really step up.

When my mother went into Lime Court she was underweight and very unhappy. Within the 2 and a half years she lived at Lime Court my mother was given a new lease of life thanks to all the staff within the care home. She became a very happy person and she put on weight, looking like the mother I knew again.
Within Lime Court, she was able to join in with many activities as there were always many activities going on within the home, which was also wonderful to see, and when visiting my mother I was always welcomed and able to join in with the activities too. Along with this when me and my daughter visited my mother we were always made welcome by the staff they were very friendly and be happy to see us as we would happily spend the time with my mother and the other residents within the home.
Reply from suz moore, Manager at Lime CourtThank you, Karen, for your kind words. Mum had such a great time and we loved seeing this, always the first one on the dance floor.

Since my friend has been admitted to Lime Court, he has been treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. Staff attitudes have been friendly and encouraging. Flexibility and movement of residents and comfort offered has been noticeable so they can endeavour to feel at home.
I am pleased my friend
is safe and well looked after by such a great staff, even though his health is so poor.

Having been a visitor for more than 13 years to various ladies and gentleman I think it is now so very friendly and understanding of each individual needs. Having 3 or 4 rooms available to use, it has made visiting so much easier, nice to have a quiet room to chat to residents. The food looks great
and very appetising and we the visitors are included in teas and coffees. Very welcome indeed. I think the staff are a credit to this home, wish I could mention names!
Thrilled to see the 3 people we visit so happy and content. Thank you.

My mother has been taken care of since May 2015. I cannot praise the staff of Lime Court enough. They are so kind and caring and look after Mum so well, even though they are very busy. She has been hospitalised twice and both times her health deteriorated. As soon as she was back in Lime Court she was
happy and within a week she was back to her old self. Mum has dementia so looking after her can be trying at times, but the staff are absolutely brilliant with her. Also to my father who was there for a few weeks before he passed away.

Staff very caring and helpful - nothing too much trouble. The only comment I would make is concerning the floors of the 4 toilets on the ground floor. I often find the floors wet with urine when I have accompanied my Aunt. Floors could be monitored to ensure they are kept in a sanitary condition. Also,
there are no bins in 2 of the toilets to dispose of used hand towels.

My Mother (86) has now been resident in Lime Court for 2 years the care, consideration and compassion that she has received has been first class. Mum enjoys the day to day engagement with the staff and Seniors who always make time for a chat, to get a coffee or attend to her needs. I highly recommend
Lime Court as a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for any older person requiring a care home.

For family members worried about the move of their loved one from home into a care home I can assure you that the time invested by the Management of Lime Court and the level of detail that they require from you makes a troubling time very easy, they really get to know and understand the resident, their likes and dislikes, their background and history and are available to discuss and answer any concerns or issues that you may have.

Having had previous experience of other care homes I believe that Lime Court is what they should all be measured against and aspire to be. It is first class.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.849)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.849) out of 10 for Lime Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.849 for Lime Court is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 259 Ratings = 4.849
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lime Court is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
