Lime Court is a 44-bed care home, including four double rooms, spread over two floors, with lift access and five separate themed lounges. The home specialises in dementia and care for elderly people, situated near the seafront and within easy reach of local shops and amenities of Dovercourt.

The home has a six bed private wing with en-suites which was opened in October 2012. The purpose-built care home offers a superb lifestyle for its residents with a reputation in the community for the warmth of the staff and the care provided.

Lime Court are very proud that it was the pilot for the Food First programme, which alleviates the need of medicated supplements. Residents enjoy their meals in a well-lit, spacious central dining room, and menus are tailored to residents requests. Feedback is sought from residents about any changes.

A central recreational courtyard area (accessible by wheelchair users), with raised beds, is enjoyed by residents and families, along with a side garden and large patio area. Together, staff, family and friends have created a reminiscence lounge with items from the early 1900's to present day.

The care home receives regular visits from hairdressers, opticians, chiropodists and a therapist who offers massages in a sensory room. A full time activity coordinator arranges activities which include regular outings to local attractions, live entertainment, knitting clubs, card clubs, bingo, pet therapy, plus many more. If there are specific requests for activities these are accommodated.

Mum was in Lime Court Care Home for nearly 2 years. At first, I thought the bedrooms were basic but they were clean and tidy and I soon realised that the excellent standard of care was far more important.
There was always a full programme of activities going on around her to stimulate her plus 1-1
sessions. This continued during lockdowns via Zoom/tablets etc.
Lockdowns were hard for all of us but we managed with phone calls, letters, and Facetime then window visits, pod visits then outside visits in the summers. It was good to be able to visit inside last month within the guidelines. The staff were always on hand to help with all the visiting requirements. Thank you for keeping everyone safe.
If I ever had any queries/problems the Managers had an open-door policy.
Mum passed away this month. She died peacefully with dignity in her own bed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They supported all mum's family too.
Thank you all for giving mum the best end of life care possible.

My mum stayed here for a few months during the summer due to a flood making her living conditions at home temporarily unsuitable. I can’t fault the care she received during her time at Lime Court. All of the staff made a real fuss of her and every time we called up the office staff were so personable
and helpful. Unfortunately government guidelines in place at the time meant mum had to isolate for 2 weeks with no visitors to begin with. During this time the staff went above and beyond to ensure we could still have as much contact as possible. FaceTime calls were set up daily and we were welcomed to call just to check in as often as we liked, nothing was too much trouble. I really do feel that every member of staff genuinely cares about each resident as an individual.

Lime Court is the most amazing, caring place. They looked after my dad, which should have been a transition to coming home. They fought for his care, gave him his dignity, sat with him and cared for him in a way we would have. The care and compassion they showed to my dad were above and beyond what
I expected.
Unfortunately, he ended up on palliative care and died at Lime Court surrounded by his family and the most caring and nurturing staff you could ever ask for.
This was a very difficult time for us, but they were always there for all of us.
I would not have wished for him to die, but this was the perfect place for it to happen.
I want to thank Lime Court and its amazing staff; I will never forget the care and support you gave to us all.

Lime court staff were incredibly caring and supportive of both ourselves and more importantly our relative. We live some distance away and all the staff were brilliant with our telephone calls and keeping us updated. Lime Court has a very warm, friendly atmosphere. Even with COVID restrictions, we were
made welcome. Our relatives stay may have been short, but she couldn't have been in better hands.

My dad was looked after extremely well in the short time that he was there. All staff were so caring and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. It was so nice to know you could phone at anytime just to have updates on Dad, and to be able to visit Dad when he became extremely poorly due to his illness
- was just excellent. I would definitely recommend Lime Court.

Following an excellent stay here by my mum a couple of years ago (which she really enjoyed) my dad has now been here for about a month having some respite care.
I can't praise Lime Court enough - the staff here are all absolutely lovely and really pleasant to deal with. They do a ton of things to
keep residents entertained (which I know my dad is loving after a long time of living alone with minimal contact with the outside world) and their care and attention to residents are very genuine.
They treat residents with utmost respect and dignity and take any challenges (e.g. resident needs) in their stride, and as well as being lovely; they're also all incredibly professional and experts in their field.
Thank you to all the staff at Lime Court, thanks to you, I know my dad is being cared for and looked after by great people in a great environment.

Just wanted to say how amazing the staff have been over the past year during the pandemic, in continuing to give the high standard of care to my Mum and other residents at the home. Safety guidelines have been strictly adhered to, and regular updates are given either via Facebook or directly to me about
my Mum and the home. Activities have also been shared on social media, which has shown my mum participating and looking happy. This has given me reassurance and is good to see. I can’t thank the staff and management enough.

The care that my mother is receiving at Lime Court is in my opinion second to none, the staff are genuine (friendly and caring) this I'm sure gives the residents that additional feeling of security. Throughout the pandemic, the staff have kept relatives of residents up-to-date where possible facilitated
COVID secure visitation, they are a credit to the team.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.849)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.849) out of 10 for Lime Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.849 for Lime Court is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 259 Ratings = 4.849
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lime Court is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
