An excellent workforce, extremely well managed. The staff are more like friends than anything else. If it's not broke don't fix it.

Simply wonderful. We have observed first-hand the 24-hour care given by loving and dedicated staff, as we sit in vidual with our loved one. We had a really lovely lamb roast dinner with our dad on Father's Day.
The food was excellent and the lady that served us was so nice, checking everything was ok.

Dad ate really well which was nice to see.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch with Dad on Father's Day. Lamb and all the trimmings. It's great we are still able to share these lovely memories in welcoming surroundings. Everyone is so kind and caring and compliments to the chef.

Our experience has been very positive. The staff are excellent, and we are confident our mum is being well cared for. The entertainment is varied and looks great fun. The quality reviews are valuable and give us a chance to speak to the staff on a one-to-one basis.

Overall a great home.

My mum has been a resident at Longfield since June 2023, and I am so happy with the care she receives. Whenever I visit, the staff and residents are cheerful, and there is such a lovely atmosphere. The staff are caring and supportive and go out of their way to cater for her needs. They have lots of different activities going on, from music to crafts and gentle exercise that can be enjoyed if the resident chooses. Communication is excellent, and her care is reviewed and discussed with me on a regular basis. The meals are freshly prepared on-site and are of a high standard. She sees the hairdresser, chiropodist, dentist and optician who visit the home. She has been able to personalize her room with some of her own furniture and belongings, which helped the transition from living in her previous bungalow. I would highly recommend Longfield.

This is like a home from home with caring staff who are also friendly and always approachable. The food is good and plentiful, no one goes hungry here. They have a games cupboard, a games TV and a good bookcase. Also many activities and visiting singers etc. Each lounge has a large TV and plenty of comfortable armchairs and cushions. The bedrooms are kept nicely and cleanliness is a priority. There is a calmness here and they are very understanding of dementia.

Longfield has been home to my mum for over four years now and the care and love she receives is excellent. There have been some challenging times and a sad occasion where all the staff stepped up to help Mum through a very upsetting time. I know Mum is very happy with the care she receives and we thank them all for their continued support.

My dad was lucky enough to secure a place in Longfield just before the beginning of the March 2020 lockdown. We had to move quickly, freeing up a valuable hospital bed, we looked at several local to us but Longfield really stood out, its friendly, homely atmosphere won us over. Despite all the problems the pandemic threw up, All the staff made engagement and communication and involvement possible, so impressive. I was involved with every decision, every aspect of care during his time until his sad death this February. If you or your loved one are lucky enough to get a place within this lovely home you will not be disappointed. Peace of mind is everything.

Rooms are compact but have everything my husband needs. He loves the way his porridge is made. I am always greeted by name and with a smile on my arrival to visit my husband.

If I am there when drinks are served I am asked if I would like one. My husband was discharged from hospital to a home that upset both of us. We know this one is at least 200% better. So glad he was transferred here. It took 6 weeks but all the effort is rewarded daily.

Mum is a new resident of this care home and she has settled in extremely well due to the lovely, friendly and kind care workers always having time in their busy working day to make every resident feel welcome and loved. We were very worried about our mum going into a care home but Longfield has made this a very stress-free event putting our minds at rest.

My mum spent the last 15 months until her death at Longfield.
She went in during lock down during what was a very traumatic time for us.
She had Parkinson’s and Dementia and the home was absolutely brilliant in dealing with her condition.
I cannot praise all the staff highly enough for the constant care and consideration that Mum, and us as a family were given. Our questions were always readily answered.
They have been outstanding in so many ways and were so kind and caring to us all in Mum’s last days.

I would very highly recommend the home.

My mum was in Longfield care home for the past 15 months of her life. This was not easy as it was during the first lockdown that she went in after an illness. The care she received was outstanding from each member of the team. She had Parkinson's and dementia and deteriorated but the staff were so kind to her and kept us up to date with her medical needs and how she was doing. I can't speak highly enough of this home and will be recommending it to others.

Gina Copsey
Gina CopseyJob Title:ManagerJoined: 2015

I started my career in care in 1999 after studying Science and Health Studies at college. Throughout my career, I have worked in nursing and residential homes, supporting older people with disabilities and dementia, and their families.

In the past, I have supported members of my own family through illness. This experience ignited my passion for working in care and ensuring that every resident receives the compassion, care and support they deserve. I have worked within the Excelcare group since 2015 in several roles, progressing to Home Manager and completing a level 5 diploma in care management. I have managed Longfield since 2014 and am very committed to this home.

I am very proud of our home and the fantastic team I work with. I am passionate about team member development and love supporting colleagues to improve their knowledge and progress in their careers.

I enjoy gardening, walking, skiing, and spending time with my family in my spare time.

Claire PughJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2014

I joined Longfield Care Home as an experienced care assistant in 2014. I quickly progressed to the role of Team Leader, and then in 2018 became Deputy Manager.

I have completed level 2 and 3 diplomas in care, and I am currently completing the level 5 diploma in care management. My two specialities are Dementia Care and Parkinson’s Disease care. I have completed qualifications in both these subjects, and I am accredited to lead teaching sessions in Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia Care.

My favourite part of the job is getting to know residents and their families and building a connection with people. I also like to continually learn and improve my knowledge through training and working closely with other professionals.

In my spare time, I enjoy walking my two dogs and family get-togethers, particularly summertime BBQs.
