I came to Maitland House for respite care. I had my right leg amputated and was in the process of having my bathroom altered for my needs. I was here for two weeks. The staff were kind and caring, accommodation and food was excellent.

I came to Maitland House for 12 days of respite and was made to feel very welcome from day one. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all the staff for their care of everyone, and I must add a word of praise to the cooks and the food provided.

All the staff at Maitland House are amazing, every time I get away from university I always pop in and see Nan. She always appears so happy and the staff can't do enough for her or us as visitors. I can see the improvement in the home over the last few months. I know there are new staff and management there and you can see the difference. The home always looks and smells fresh. I just want to say a big thank you to Maitland House for all your hard work and support, not only to Nan but to us as a family we really appreciate it.

Our mum has been at Maitland House for over two years now. All of the staff are absolutely amazing, exceptionally kind to Mum and so welcoming to us, and the food is excellent and so varied. The home is well managed and the manager always seems to be striving to make further improvements where possible. We are very happy that our mum lives here and reassured that she is well looked after.

Our lovely mum became a resident at Maitland House after we lost our dad in 2021. She was enjoying her time there up until the summer of 2022 when her health started to deteriorate and she stopped eating in September. With the exemplary care she was given, and encouragement to drink, she continued up until February of this year. Sadly, she lost her fight and passed. I want to thank the staff for the care, dignity and respect they gave her and also the care they gave to us as a family in her last week, we will be forever grateful. Also, they need to be commended for the fact that she never once had a break in her skin or pressure sore in the whole sixteen months she was there, which is a testament to her care. I would have no hesitation in recommending the care home to anyone who was looking. With grateful thanks.

My aunt really enjoyed the mad hatter's tea party, she was dancing and singing along. She loved her Easter hat and Elvis. A good time was had by all.

I was worried about Mum going into a care home, but I am really glad she is now. She is healthier and happier at this home. The staff are lovely, and the food is excellent. Anny worries or problems that arise are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Always a good welcome for visitors. Mum always appears happy and regularly tells me how good the food is!
Mum tells me the staff are lovely. She enjoys the entertainment and loves her room.

All in all Mum was reluctant to consider a care home but now tells me it's the best move she could have made. She enjoys the company and the security of knowing someone is always there!

My mother has been a resident at Maitland House for eight months, during that time from what she tells me and what I have witnessed on my visits she is treated very well and with dignity. My mother is totally bed-bound and all her needs and wishes are carried out with care and thoughtfulness. She seems happy and content there and, as a family, we do not have any concerns.

Mum was a very frail 96-year-old when she finally agreed to go into care. She has now been at Maitland House for six months and has put on weight and is much sharper mentally. I am hoping that there will be more entertainment now we are finally coming out of lockdown but otherwise cannot fault the care she is receiving. She really looks forward to the meals and the lovely cook does everything she can to supply her favourite food. The home is clean and comfortable and the staff always friendly.

My father has only been in Maitland House for a week, it was a very hard decision to come to, but with the help of the staff at Maitland, their understanding and reassurance, I know this home is the right one for Dad's needs. I delivered his belongings the day before his move and the staff had everything in place for his arrival. They have been in constant contact with me since he arrived, and we chat with him every day. The home itself is very clean, just had a makeover and staff are cheerful. The chef is amazing, my dad likes his food and would say if it wasn’t good. I’m just relieved that he’s happy.

Although at first reluctant to give up her independence, a short respite stay in Maitland House convinced my mum that she wanted to be there full time. Staff are caring, polite, friendly, capable, everything you would want in a carer for a loved one. It is reassuring to know that she is happy, safe and well looked after.

So far my mother has been well looked after. The staff have been very accommodating considering we have been in lockdown since she went into the home and there has not always been a full compliment.
I have only been allowed into the home once but found it well decorated and clean with modern furniture and fittings.

With its close location to the seafront, I look forward to being able to take my mother out in the summer.

Staff very polite and professional at all times. Pleasant room and facilities. Only one complaint. Last meal without a drink, a very long time before breakfast. I was an orthopaedic patient and total non-weight bearing requested by the consultant.

Staff all very friendly and helpful. They settled mum in well when she was admitted at short notice. The procedures to protect residents from COVID infection are rigorous, but it is still possible to visit residents outdoors whilst maintaining social distancing.
