I am looked after fine.
The staff are friendly and caring with a professional attitude. Clean and well kept. Lots of activities for my mother to enjoy. The staff all know her name and speak to her. We can visit at any time without any problem. We are kept updated regularly and there are regular family days. We were really worried about leaving our mum in a care home, but we now feel really pleased that she is happy and well cared for.
Staff are all extremely friendly and helpful.
The manager and her team have been amazing, Mum was in a really poorly way when she went to Milton Lodge and they have helped her to settle in. Within 3 weeks she is doing better than we thought possible - we can’t thank you enough.
At a time when Mum was really unwell and we were at a total loss as to how to support and care for her Milton Lodge stepped in and provided exactly what we all needed. Their friendly, whilst very professional service has been outstanding. The care that all the staff has shown Mum has been wonderful and she has responded so well to this and in a matter of weeks has shown significant improvements in all aspects of her health and wellbeing. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the manager and her team for what they have done and the wonderful way in which they have done it, you totally demonstrate the "care" in care home which is exactly what we and Mum needed; thank you.
Thank you for your Kind words it's an absolute pleasure.
We had to choose a care home for my mum just over 3 years ago. As soon as we walked into Milton Lodge everyone made you welcome. Mum was there for nearly 2 years and we couldn’t have wished for better care for her, so when it came to looking for somewhere for my father-in-law my first call was to Milton Lodge and luckily they had a room for him. When we took him it was so nice to see all the same staff still there. It really is one big happy family. All the staff go above and beyond in caring for the residents and I would highly recommend Milton Lodge, it really is a care home.
My mum was a resident of Milton Lodge for almost three years. She was very much looked after by caring and professional staff who she adored and trusted. She was treated with respect and dignity and the family had no worries for her well being. She was very happy and enjoyed her time here. We can never thank the staff enough, more than they will ever know.
Our sister has been in care at Milton Lodge now for 18 months. On behalf of all of our family we would like to thank all staff most sincerely for their professionalism in looking after her so well. Thank you for making her feel secure, happy and content for which we are all eternally grateful. The staff are all so kind and go out of their way to ensure that their patients are well looked after and feel part of the Milton Lodge family. Thanks once again.
The Milton team.
I was so pleased with the excellent care that mum had there, that when Dad went into care a few months later, I only wanted him to be cared for at Milton Lodge.
The staff and management were outstanding in their care and also always having a kind word to us they felt like family to us we couldn’t have asked for more.
They are on top of her medical needs and always recognise when she needs to see a doctor.
There is lots of activities and plenty for them all to do and keep them entertained.
They are offered a good variety of food and cater for all tastes.
The staff are lovely kind and helpful, Milton Lodge has a good heart and well recommended
My parents are both very happy living at Milton Lodge and I cannot be more happy with the service.
I would definitely recommend Milton Lodge.
Anyone would be very fortunate to be able to reside here.
I am very happy with the care and support mum is receiving in the home. Having viewed many homes before choosing this one, I believe this home and all staff are in a class of their own. I would fully recommend this care home to anyone.
My mum has always been terrified of moving into residential care. Unfortunately, her needs resulted in needing respite care and Milton Lodge was our choice.
Mum has settled really well and is now a permanent resident since June 2017.
The staff are lovely and have really helped mum settle despite her fears. The home is also very welcoming of relatives and encourages visits and involvement in your relatives care.
I find all the staff attentive to my nan and very friendly towards me and my family, anything I ask of them is dealt with efficiently. There are a few members of staff that really stand out for me, always taking the time to chat with me about nan when I visit.
The food choices are really broad, my nan loves her food and will try anything, however, even the fussiest of eaters would be looked after. There is always something going on with the activities and regular outside entertainment comes in.
Overall I am happy that Milton lodge has become home for my nan and feel content that when I am not there she is being looked after to a high standard.
Milton Lodge staff provide a normal environment to people who can no longer look after themselves. But it is also full of activity that you just wouldn't get alone in your home. I am really pleased with Milton Lodge, a good find!
Carers at Milton Lodge, Colchester provided the best possible care they could have for my grandmother during her 2 and a half years at Milton Lodge. To the best of my knowledge, my grandmother was happy there. She partook in some of the wide range of activities that were on offer and enjoyed the menu. The staff were also good company for her.
Excellent all round service. Staff are very caring and mum is well looked after. We fell on our feet when this home was available for mum. There is always something going on for the residents - cooking, bingo, entertainment to name a few activities. The constant update of photos of the home activities on facebook is great. A very good way to keep in touch as I only manage to get in about once a week. Also, the news sheet is very good (I see it online).
I am very pleased with the care and attention that is given to my mum. Also, the day to day activities are good to keep the residents happy and occupied.
I go to the care home regularly to see my nan. I always feel welcome and am informed of what my nan has done that day. The residents are given day to day activities and have a very good routine. Highly recommend.

Meet the Team (1)

My name is Trudi Snee and I’m the proud Manager of Milton Lodge Care Home. I’ve worked in care since the age of 16, spurred on with the courage and conviction of wanting to make a difference, having witnessed a poor level of care afforded to my own Grandfather and therefore firmly believing that not all care homes fail to deliver.
I started working at Milton Lodge in 2000 as a Care Assistant and then progressed my way up through the ranks until being appointed Manager in 2006. I’m extremely passionate about the home and pride myself on the service and level of care that my team and I deliver to our residents, all of which we have come to regard as family – this is never just a job to me, it has become my life.
