I volunteer every week at Millard House Care Home, where I spend time with residents creating artwork. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for residents to express themselves creatively and enjoy meaningful interaction.
The staff at the care home foster a warm and friendly environment. Residents
are extremely well cared for, and it is clear that they are happy and treated very well.
The residents genuinely enjoy working on art projects. They are often eager to chat, sharing stories and conversation while participating in the activities.
Reply from Konrad Ludkowski, Registered Manager at Millard HouseThank you for excellent review. We really do appreciate your volunteering work. Resident look forward to you and your team to come in.

My mum lived quite independently until a fall took her into hospital, from there she was transfered to Millard house as she was unable to go home.
Millard house has been excellent from the very begining communicating with me when ever there was a reason for them to contact a doctor.
My mum took a little
while to recuperate from being in hospital but then she started to interact with people and she is now really happy there. There are activities organised daily for residents to join in if the wish to.
The staff at Millard house are always considerate, treat every one with dignity and as individuals, knowing all residents individual needs and preferences.
All staff are friendly and helpful at all times. The carers are always willing to answer any questions that I might have. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
Millard house feels like home from home always welcome.
I would definitely recommend Millard house.

Millar House - our family member came to Millard in spring 2022. She was initially there for respite but the kindness and care she received she decided to stay. Since then the home, all its staff here provided excellent support and caring giving. She has dementia she is understood by all the carers
so they manage all her care with great patience and understanding.

Recently the Carehome where my dad lives celebrated 60 years being in a Carehome family and friends have been invited to the special occasion we were welcomed with drinks and we had entertainment where we all engaged with singing and dancing. It was a wonderful experience and a pleasure to be able to
take part in this celebration. my dad's face was a picture. He really enjoyed the day. We were all treated to a wonderful buffet. It's just one big happy family at Millard Carehome I am so pleased my dad is happy and calls It his home. All the staff from cleaners to management make this place so special so loving and caring what more could
you want?

I remain impressed and so grateful for the compassionate and professional care my wife who has dementia is currently receiving at the home. The level of attention and quality of care provided by the team is exceptional. The communication is clear and someone is always on hand to give an update on my
wife's condition. I can visit any time and am always welcomed by members of staff who are unfailingly kind.

Mum has received excellent care from all the staff at Millard House.
She has settled into the home and they understand the problems associated with dementia. The only issue we have experienced is some small items of clothes have been mislaid perhaps due to identity tags coming off. I would highly
recommend Millard House to others who need a caring and safe environment. Thank you very much.

Grandma has now reached 3 months at Millard House. The minute I met with Cora to look around I knew this was the place for her. Having been very independent up until a bout of falls we were sad the time had come that we could no longer safely care for her at home. But Millard house has continued to
support both Grandma and Us with the transition.
The attention to detail of the staff is incredible and on the odd occasion there has been a concern it has been dealt with promptly and professionally.
Selina, Amanda, Cora, Annie (I am really rubbish with names and am sorry to miss so many of you out) but you have all been wonderful and accommodating with your care and support.
If you are looking for a home from home atmosphere with kind, caring and dedicated staff who listen to and act upon any concerns then Millard house is the place.
Thank you all again x

My mum stayed at Millard for a period of respite care. As she had not lived in a care home before, she was apprehensive about what it would be like. However, from the moment we arrived staff were welcoming and friendly. By the time I popped in to visit her after a week she could not speak highly
enough of how she was being well looked after, saying staff were so kind and helpful. She also loved the food! As her daughter it was so reassuring to see how well she had settled in and seemed content.
Staff were always welcoming and provided updates when I visited. If I had a question it was dealt with and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. The home itself is bright with a range of lounge areas. Everywhere always looked clean and tidy.

Very pleased with service provided and communication is excellent. Its such a relief to know mum is looked after so well. I have experienced hospital care and home Carers on more than a few occasions but the service and staff at Millard House have exceeded everything experienced prior to mum becoming
a resident. I can only thank you from the bottom of our hearst for the care provided and giving us our lives back.

I have found the atmosphere light + airy and welcoming, the staff are friendly and keen to assist. My mother’s physical and emotional State has improved greatly even though her dementia continues to deteriorate. She loves the music afternoons and she is keen to join in the singing. I am very pleased
with the way the home is caring for her and would recommend this home to my friends who may need a place for any of their relatives.

I have found Millard House to be welcoming and reassuring for both residents, and family. I have been comforted, by the kindness and concern of the staff that I have met. The home itself is light, airy, and clean. There is a chance most days to join in activities, the musical events always well received.
The food too is good, with regular drinks and snacks between meals.

My mum entered Millard House after a spell of respite care revealed that her needs required a move to residential care. On arrival, the staff were very attentive and her admittance was very smooth. Because of Mum's dementia diagnosis, she struggled in the first week but the staff assisted her every
step of the way, ensured her medication was administered and generally made her feel safe and cared for. We feel we have found a suitable care home to accommodate Mum's needs. The home is welcoming and clean, well staffed and comfortable.

My mum has recently moved to Millard House after a lengthy stay in hospital and elsewhere. After a difficult start, she has started to settle in and that is due to the care and understanding of all the staff there. They have taken the time to get to know my mum and have supported me and my family at
a difficult time. Millard House is very welcoming and spotlessly clean. There are lots of activities for the residents and family and friends are always included. This is a lovely home and I'm sure my mum will thrive here. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.787)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.787) out of 10 for Millard House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.787 for Millard House is calculated as follows: ( (233 Excellents x 5) + (63 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 296 Ratings = 4.787
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Millard House is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
