Staff are professional, helpful and caring to patients and relatives. Rooms are clean and modern. Food is good and patients can eat so much as they want.

I once stayed in the old Deanery but had to come home earlier because they never kept any promises they made in my care plan. I loved The Deanery and the grounds so we did our homework and after talking to the manager and staff I decided to give it another try.


This time it was so much better they

couldn't do enough for me, and the staff treated everyone with respect and kindness, nothing was too much for them. I had my bedroom door open during the day watching the residents being well looked after and trying to give confidence to some that needed a bit more help. Also I noticed when people used the buzzer staff came very quickly. I will recommend The New Deanery to people who need to go into a home, and I will always use them to stay with in the future.

We visited my aunty today to conduct her regular care plan review, this by agreement takes place every three months. As a family we are very impressed with how well she is being cared for here. My aunt has a number of medical conditions which are being well managed here, and proper care and food are
ensuring that she has the most reasonable quality of life that can be expected in her circumstances. Again, as a family we are happy for my aunt to stay here, where the staff know and care for her well. She herself has expressed the view that she's in full agreement with this.

Since my mother came to The New Deanery she has been very happy, not only with the actual home but the care and kindness of the staff. From a family point of view- all the family have been so pleased with the kindness shown by the staff. Thank you.

The staff and residents are so friendly and a lovely atmosphere. The trip on the coach has been good with every care for wheelchair users, a nice treat. My only mention is when possible to get risen chairs at least in the rooms. Food very tasty and a choice. A safety bar in my shower would be helpful.

The care given to my Mother over the past 18 months has improved greatly under the new management. I do not live in the UK, but I know she is well looked after and have every confidence in the staff, whom I have met during the visits I make to my Mother. Although in the first months of Mum being at
the Deanery, food was a big issue, but thanks to great kitchen staff things have improved greatly and they are always happy to make special things for any of the residents when ever possible.

Rachel

Rachel Marlow

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 1999

Rachel has worked at The New Deanery for over 25 years, starting as a Care Assistant and progressing her career with various promotions as Senior Carer, Team Leader, Deputy and eventually Home Manager.


Rachels' dedication and commitment to The New Deanery is very special indeed, and her passion for her residents and staff can be seen in everything she does. Having constant leadership has led others at the New Deanery to follow in her footsteps and progress their careers at the home which in turn ensures our residents have a stable and consistent team to care for them.


When asked why she chose a career in care, she said, 'I just wanted to make a difference in the lives of the elderly.' We can certainly say she has done that and more in her quarter-century of caring for those living and working at The New Deanery.


Outside of work, Rachel is an avid cricket fan and enjoys travelling with her family and friends (but not her two furry friends, her cats Oscar and Smudge!).
