Great care and empathy, helping Mum settle in and to see her improve mentally and physically. A very comfortable feel in the home. Activities are great and varied, and the encouragement from the carers is lovely.
Reply from Jacqui Shuttleworth, Operations & Compliance Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

My mum has just arrived, and all the staff have been amazing. Nothing is too much trouble, and I would like to mention some standout staff, but it says I cannot mention names?
Mum has struggled to settle in initially, but my family and I are confident with the staff's support, we will get there, eg
phoning us on Mum's mobile so we could wish her goodnight.
The home is clean. Mum is enjoying the food, and Mum's room has been redecorated recently.
Some of the communal areas could do with a decorate.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give the home such a positive review, which we will feedback to the team here. If you would like to inform the home's manager of the team members you believe have gone that 'extra mile' to make your experience this good for both you and your dear Mum, we will make sure they receive the praise and reward they should. The team at Silverpoint Court work tirelessly to ensure that every person admitted to the home has a personalised and homely reception, and I am so pleased that this is being seen to be working well. Anything we can do to help Mum settle in quicker, please let us know, and we will aim to help you achieve it. With very warm regards

My mother has been in Silverpoint for the past four years and has had first-class treatment. I found the staff to be, at all times, really helpful and happy. The home is clean and has no bad smells. The food is very good; also, the entertainment is good.
Reply from Jacqui Shuttleworth, Operations & Compliance Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review for the team at the home. I am so pleased your mother has had such a good experience with us. The team make it their aim to ensure that the residents have the very best time with us they can, from their recreational activities to the menu planning with their favourite meals included and that the home is a clean and safe environment for them, and it is lovely for them to hear that the hard work that goes into this is recognised. We will pass your lovely comments on to them. I look forward to the future years, and your mother continuing to enjoy her time with us. Kind regards.

My mother has been in Silverpoint for 11-years, and I have found her care whilst there to be very good. She always enjoyed the entertainment when she was able to leave her bed and always looked clean and tidy on my visits. In recent times, she has been confined to bed due to her age but has still been
looked after very well.
Reply from Jacqui Shuttleworth, Operations & Compliance Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you so much for this positive review. It is fantastic to hear that Mum has been with us for so many years, having enjoyed the facilities in the past and that you are happy with the care she has received during this time. It is a testament to the dedication of the team at the home, and we will feed your comments back to them. It is sad that she can no longer join in with the entertainment, but there are dedicated recreation and well-being team members who will always pop in and run a 1-1 session with her, so she is never completely left out of the events happening in the home. We look forward to caring for Mum for as long as you both need us to be here for her. With kind regards and warm thanks.

The staff are very kind and caring. I live abroad, and it's difficult for me to see Mum, but when I do, my experience is second to none. The staff put themselves out so that I can spend as much time as I can with Mum. Also, the hygiene rules that are put in place are very good because of the Coronavirus.

My mother seems very contented. We (my wife and I) have met Mum twice. Difficult to rate issues as Mum has dementia. I'm told that she is active, eating well and is involved in activities. The staff seem very friendly and attentive. The only issue is that a few items that we brought her, seem to have
been mislaid. Unable to give an accurate review due to Covid restrictions. Mum speak very highly of Silverpoint, which is all that really matters.

Thank you so much for this review. I am glad Mum is happy and speaks well of the home, and that you find the team-friendly. I feel sure the home's manager will be in touch to discuss and potentially rectify any issues you have regarding missing belongings as the team take great care in trying to keep belongings safe for the people we care for. My aunt came into the care home during the Covid-19 pandemic - this was a difficult time for all. As a family, the home showed compassion and high standards of keeping my auntie safe. We have regular updated and managed visits and Zoom calls. My aunt has developed a good relationship with her carers
and settled in well. My aunt has dementia, so she can become confused and agitated at times, but the staff give her the reassurance she needs, and she even beginning to join in the activities.
Reply from Jacqui Shuttleworth, Operations & Compliance Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you for this very positive and heartwarming review. This time of admitting people through the pandemic has been so hard for families, and this team recognise this, and I am so glad they have been able to make you feel so confident in feeling Auntie is safe and well cared for. Dad was having bad falls in his home. He has some time in hospital, then rehabilitation. I knew he wasn't well enough to return to his home, at the age of 95. So he went into respite care. After only one week stay, my dad said he wanted to stay in the care home. He is being cared for 24/7. All staff
and facilities are brilliant. He is so happy being there. Thank you.

Thank you very much for believing in us and for the lovely words that you have written here. I am pleased that you like everything in the home and what we do for your dad. All the staff are trying their utmost best to make sure that the residents are happy while living here. Your dad informed us that he was very apprehensive to live in a care home because of the bad publicities he heard in the news, but when he came to us, he loves it here and wanted to stay permanently. All the staff love your dad, and he is very settled here.

The last twelve months have been hard for residents, staff and relatives. At times, I have felt sad not to be able to see my dad. Communication is hard as he can't speak or hear properly. I desperately need to reconnect with him properly and to take him freely out of the home.
Reply from Jacqui Shuttleworth, Operations & Compliance Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you for this honest feedback. We know that this past year has been so difficult for the families of those people living in our home. I hope that you have been able to receive regular feedback about Dad's wellbeing from our resident liaison, but recognise that all the technology we have put in place has not been helpful for you with Dad's communication difficulties. I am hopeful that now we have opened the doors for face to face visiting, if you haven't already been offered an opportunity to visit, then this can be arranged, and you will once again be able to communicate in a meaningful way. I thank you for your patience throughout the last year and recognise how hard this has been for you. We will do our very best to put this sadness behind you and pave the way for some meaningful and fulfilling times ahead for you both. With kind regards.

Would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff through this very difficult time during the lockdown; you have gone above and beyond. You have given the care that families have been unable to give. You have sacrificed your own families to keep residents safe and protected, and for this, I thank
you with all my heart.
I have had the long-awaited visit inside the home to see my mum, which was amazing. The strict checks before entering the home were very much appreciated, knowing that the staff are still doing everything to the guidelines to protect our loved ones with no corners being cut and again, I thank you.
I have no concerns with the reopening of the home with these strict procedures being in place.
Again, I thank you all and cannot wait to be able to enter the home more often when we are able in a safe and protected way.

All the staff are doing their utmost best to ensure that all the residents are safe, happy and protected during this lockdown. We have a strict procedure in place so that all visits will be safe, and it is good to know that you appreciate it. Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.827)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.827) out of 10 for Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.394 for Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 66 Ratings = 4.394
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.433 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
