Would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff through this very difficult time during the lockdown; you have gone above and beyond. You have given the care that families have been unable to give. You have sacrificed your own families to keep residents safe and protected, and for this, I thank
you with all my heart.
I have had the long-awaited visit inside the home to see my mum, which was amazing. The strict checks before entering the home were very much appreciated, knowing that the staff are still doing everything to the guidelines to protect our loved ones with no corners being cut and again, I thank you.
I have no concerns with the reopening of the home with these strict procedures being in place.
Again, I thank you all and cannot wait to be able to enter the home more often when we are able in a safe and protected way.
Reply from Gay Snowdon, Home Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you, Lynne, for your very kind words and your lovely review. We are happy that you are pleased with the care that your mom is receiving here at Silverpoint Court. All the staff are doing their utmost best to ensure that all the residents are safe, happy and protected during this lockdown. We have a strict procedure in place so that all visits will be safe, and it is good to know that you appreciate it. We are pleased that you have the opportunity to see your mom face to face inside the home after a long year and had a very good outcome of your visit. Thank you.

As a life long resident of Canvey Island, my aunt really didn't want to leave her home of over ninety years. When the time came for her to move to Silverpoint Court it was made much easier than expected by the excellent management and staff. Within a couple of weeks, she was smiling again and much happier
than I've seen her in a long time. I have absolute confidence in leaving her in their care in these difficult times.
Reply from Gay Snowdon, Home Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you very much for your kind words and believing in us. This is really a good motivation for the staff as they are appreciated for all their hard work. We try our very best to keep the residents safe and are happy while living here in Silverpoint. Your aunt had really settled well and is loved by everyone.

All the staff at Silverpoint Care home are amazing and looked after my Dad for two and a half years. The Manager is great, as are all the seniors who are just lovely amazing people, and every single carer there are second to none. We have become great friends with them all. My Dad loved them all so
much and was very happy at Silverpoint. My Mum visited every day bless her, so also became a big part of her social life. I would highly recommend Silverpoint Care Home to anyone. The New manager seems very lovely too. Big shout out to the activities coordinator, she is fab.
Reply from Gillian Dixon, Operations & Compliance Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you so much for your feedback, it is very important for us to hear this as it enables us to understand if we are doing well or need to improve in any area! I am really pleased that you were happy with the care we provided for Dad, and that you felt we supported your Mum well during this difficult time too. The staff team are amazing, caring people, and the activities in the home are plentiful and always a hoot, and if there is a chance to laugh, dance or celebrate - it's an opportunity never missed.
Thank you.

My wonderful husband "who I miss so very dearly" was treated with love, respect and friendship. He was so very well looked after in Silverpoint 100%-100% of the time. The staff have hearts of gold, and there was nothing that anyone of them would not do for him; in every respect, all of the time. He
used to call it his other home! I spent many hours there with everyone, and I would not have any better caring team of the wonderful staff at Silverpoint. They all loved him, and he loved them all, so did I.
Reply from Gillian Dixon, Operations & Compliance Manager at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are always pleased to know when we have made a positive difference to our residents quality of life, but it is even more special when we have been able to successfully support the family too, and despite the sadness of your loss, that you will be left with happy and positive memories of his time with his other family, who as you state loved him very much. Thank you.

My mother is in the late stages of dementia and is bedbound. The staff give 24 hours care, turning her every 3 hours and feeding her, even out of meal times when required.
They treat her with kindness and respect keeping her clean and comfortable at all times. Sad to say, mum is oblivious to the family
and rarely knows we are there.
She is unable therefore to take advantage of any activities that take place within the home.
I cannot comment fully on anything outside of mum's room except when passing through as a visitor.

Now the lift is working, all I can say is what a difference in all aspects of Silverpoint. My dad is happy again as he can now access all areas of the home, moving around as he pleases independently.
The team of amazing carers, as always, go above and beyond their duties making sure my dad's needs
are always met.
I look forward to seeing the home getting back to the homely place it once was décor wise.

The care and help that my mum received whilst at Silverpoint was excellent. The carers were attentive and always had her best interests at heart. There was a warm and welcoming atmosphere and I was always welcomed with a smile. Whenever they were worried, they would call the doctor or district nurse
so I had absolute confidence in leaving her in their care.

My mum became a resident on the 9th October 2017. In this short time, I have seen a drastic change for the positive. Mum could not walk without a frame, now no longer needed. Her appetite has increased which has had a good impact with being insulin dependent resulting in levels that were 120% to now
64%. The carers/manager/office staff, do an amazing job and as we know it's more for the loves of the attendees than financial gain.

Silverpoint were very responsive to our request for a couple of weeks care for my father who was just discharged from hospital following a fall.

The manager assessed my dad whilst in hospital in a rigorous but friendly manner and was very helpful about the uncertainty of a discharge date.

The

care at Silverpoint was very professional and knowledgeable and always performed in a dignified way as well as with a sense of humour and happy attitude.

Overall, my dad's stay at Silverpoint was a relief both to him and his family.

My mother has been at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre since May 2017. I looked at about 20 homes before I chose this one. Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre is so homely, all the carers are so friendly and they really care, you feel at home there. I feel my mum is well looked after.
It was a really hard decision to put mum into a home but I think I made the right decision - I would recommend this home to family.

I physically (and through websites) checked out every care home in the area before I decided on this one for my mother. My mum is precious to me and only the best is good enough. I spend a lot of time with Mum and witness every day the staff here caring for her like she was their own mum. I have
complete peace of mind and confidence whilst Mum is here. Mum and I both consider all of the staff here to be our Silverpoint family. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The staff are very helpful and always have a lovely smile. Care home manager is very approachable and is keen to discuss any problems we may have. The residents rooms need decorating and some look quite tatty with chipped paint as is some of the fittings and furnishings in rooms. Food is not as varied
as I feel it should be and there are many days my dad just has soup for dinner. I cannot fault the staff who are always very caring.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.134)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.134) out of 10 for Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.462 for Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (42 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 78 Ratings = 4.462
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.672 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Silverpoint Court Residential Care Centre is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.972
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
