Croft House is an elegant and spacious home situated within a leafy suburb close to Stansted Airport. The home is set in stunning, well-maintained gardens and is also situated within walking distance of the main high street of Great Dunmow, which is ideal for residents to get out and about.

At Croft House, staff take great care to focus on the person. It’s important for residents to feel at home, so staff create a friendly environment with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients and they try to cater for all ethnicity groups. Soon after a resident arrives at Croft House, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

Croft House provides a very warm, caring environment for our loved ones, who are all felt to be part of a big family. My mother was bought into Croft in August for respite following a bad fall. She has improved dramatically since being here and really benefitted from the loving care she has received
from all members of staff. She has now decided to become a permanent resident as she is very happy here and we couldn't ask for more. From the carers, nursing staff, kitchen, entertainment and admin, reception & management staff everyone shines through. Mum is enjoying and participating in all the activities and recently joined the choir. It's so lovely to see how settled she is and improving both physically and mentally. Thank you Croft House for really making a difference to Mum's life and for welcoming both her and us into the Croft family.
The only thing that lets it down a little is the limited parking space but even this is managed well and nothing is too much trouble for anyone.

My mother came to Croft House for end of life care after a traumatic 6 weeks in hospital. From then on a cloud lifted from us as family. She was made as comfortable as possible and her pain was managed as well as it was able. Nursing and caring staff were extremely attentive and supportive to us as
a family member going through a traumatic event. Our mother was able to pass away in dignity and peace.

All staff are most diligent in caring for my mother. She feels reassured that her daily requirements are met in a timely and caring manner and more importantly, that she is listened to by all the staff she comes in contact with.
As a family we are all confident that Mum is well looked after and that
she feels safe and secure and that her dignity is respected.
We feel that we can trust the staff to care for our Mum as if she was their own mother, it is a great comfort to us.

Since my dad has been in the care home the food and entertainment has detoriated considerably in the last 6 months. Bupa increase the price significantly over 15% and did not inform us. This is not what I would expect for a private care home esp. being Bupa. Very disappointing.

Having visited Croft House 2/3 times a week now for over two years, I feel well qualified to comment on the provision of both the physical & emotional support provided to my elderly Mother during this period. The staff at Croft House are exceptional people, everyone from the admin staff to those providing
personal & medical care or logistical support are genuinely invested in their Residents. Croft House does not feel like a commercial enterprise, it is a caring & kind environment which makes Residents feel they're living in a family community. In my experience the staff go the extra mile to ensure everyone in their care feels valued & the wide range of age appropriate activities & experiences ensure that there is always something to look forward to. Occasional trips out are expertly arranged by the entertainments staff for those who wish to take part & every calendar event throughout the year is celebrated with great enthusiasm. I recommend this Care Home & all its staff unreservedly!

Fantastic home and staff, couldn't ask for better care for my nan. The carers are amazing, the nurses are always involved and explain things and one staff member in particular is worth his weight in gold! Nan is now safe and happy, eating well and comfortable, can't thank the staff enough.

Mum has been at Croft House Care Home for a couple of years, having found living independently nearly impossible. She hasn't always found the process of living in a care home easy and has at times railed against it, but she has always been treated with such kindness and compassion by the staff. I find
it really telling that there has been little turn over in key staff and am hugely impressed in how they go out of their way to help mum, even coming in on days off to take her out or watch TV with her on a Saturday night. Whenever issues have occurred, managers has been very approachable and have worked quickly to resolve what issues they can.

Since somewhat reluctantly agreeing with family and our mother that a move to a care home was really the only practical course of action as living on her own was becoming more difficult, I can only say that from the initial settling in to now, the transition has been made extremely smooth and thanks
to the excellent, attentive and above all compassionate nature of the staff our mother has settled in happily.

My experience has been nice, the staff are welcoming and pleasant. The food is satisfactory but I enjoy the social aspect in the communal areas.

My husband has been here for 5 1/2 years - he is paralysed from the chest down and is unable to join in activities. Up to this point we have been self-funding - selling off everything we possess and using every penny of savings.
Two members of staff in particular are very kind and do their best to
encourage eating and drinking.
Front of house - reception and another particular member of staff have been very helpful.
