Croft House Care Home

An absolutely outstanding care home with staff who always go the extra mile. Christmas is a prime example of entertainment, joy and love shown to all residents. Well managed, fabulous staff. Couldn't look for anywhere nice or more caring.

Since somewhat reluctantly agreeing with family and our mother that a move to a care home was really the only practical course of action as living on her own was becoming more difficult, I can only say that from the initial settling in to now, the transition has been made extremely smooth and thanks to the excellent, attentive and above all compassionate nature of the staff our mother has settled in happily.

I like my room and its homely feel, and I enjoy when visitors come to see me. Overall, my experience has been pleasant.

I reviewed care facilities in a 20-mile area for a 92-year-old gentleman who is a family friend and have legal responsibility for. He lived in his home for 64 yrs, unfortunately on his own for the last 3, and was becoming less able to manage. As I looked at quite a few Croft House kept being recommended to me, both from direct experience and knowledge of. I was very impressed on my first visit by the facilities, room sizes, comfortable areas to sit, daily activities, menus, food prepared and lovely gardens. It is a large comfortable home with a most charming atmosphere. However what was most sincere were all the staff, professionalism, respect and light-hearted manners. They project dedication and care and everyone has been so friendly. Health care is, as we all know from direct experience and social media, challenging. The level of individual care needs fluctuates but it is evident all staff do everything possible to make this a well-run home and my friend has his enthusiasm restored.

My aunt became a resident of Croft House Care Home in 2019 at the age of 99 years. I have been impressed over the subsequent years (and I'm not easily impressed !) by the consistently high standard - including the caring attitude of staff, good quality meals and wide range of activities. These have all contributed to the good social skills and mobility my aunt still enjoys. The staff's arrangements for my aunt's 104th Birthday are an example of their thoughtfulness. They asked how my aunt wished to celebrate, she asked to visit her childhood home nearby and have lunch at the hotel in the town she frequented as a teenager. The kind carers fulfilled both requests outstandingly - including arranging with the new owners for my aunt to look around her old home and for birthday decorations at the hotel. A birthday party with cake and a visit by the Town Mayor concluded a very happy day. As I live some distance away it is reassuring to know my aunt has this level of care.

I would highly recommend Croft House to anyone looking for excellent personal care for their loved ones.

My mother and stepfather moved into Croft House Care Home in February 2023. The standard of care given to my parents has been excellent, sadly my stepfather was at the end of his life. The kindness shown to both my stepfather and visiting family was outstanding.

From September 2021, when my mum moved into Croft House Care Home, the whole team were warm and welcoming and they totally succeeded in making it feel like home to her. Mum expressed on numerous visits how safe she felt and how she loved her personalised care. The food choices were perfect for her and her regular hair treatments and visits from the chiropodist still gave her contact with the outside world. I would recommend Croft House to anyone looking for an excellent care home as my mum’s life was enriched by her time there.

One final comment, whilst one understands the difficulty in recruiting new staff, I would like to see fewer agency staff on duty as they clearly have no loyalty to Croft House.

Overall though, the care home provides all the care and attention we would wish for Mum.

We are so impressed with the fantastic way that all of the staff at Croft House have coped during this latest lockdown. They have always treated Mum with loving care and dignity and this has been so important during the past year. We feel so lucky that she is being cared for in such a loving way and are so grateful for the regular updates that we receive. We would like to say a huge thank you for everything they do for all the residents.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. I feel confident knowing Mum is being cared for. Staff have kept me updated in regards to her health and well-being and have tried to accommodate during this difficult time.

My Grandmother has been a resident of Croft House for a year now after a succession of hospital admissions. The Croft has always provided wonderful care and their management of the COVID-19 situation has been fantastic. They have worked so hard to keep my Grandma well and despite not being able to see my Grandmother for the past four months, we have taken great relief to know that she is in safe hands. I would definitely recommend this care home to any future residents

The residents' private rooms are nicely decorated although the bathroom door opens onto another door and there is no ventilation in any of the bathrooms. The residents sitting rooms and dining areas are very welcoming. My father, once settled, was happy at Croft House and I felt he was safe and well looked after.

We all hope we will be able to visit our loved ones very soon. A huge thank you to the manager and the team for all their care.
