At the age of 95, Mum had to give in and go into a care home to be looked after. She was at Crowstone House for 11 months until she passed away. 11 months of good care and attention from everybody. She was happy, contented and felt safe. I would recommend Crowstone House to anybody.

Crowstone House, is a beautiful place. The building is very grand overlooking Southend seafront. As soon as you walk through the door you can feel the welcome. Everyone who works there from the cleaners to the management are extremely helpful, and always very cheerful and have the time to talk to you.
Cannot name anyone, as there are too many and I would not like to offend anyone by forgetting them.

All I can say is the manager, his clerical staff and everyone else do an amazing job, as dignity is something they all recognise and respect everyone.

What struck us with first visiting the premises was the fact that all of the management and staff smile and appear happy and enthusiastic. Everyone was kind and considerate and nothing was too much trouble. The room with a sea view was probably as good as you could find anywhere. The concept of trying to get people to do as much for themselves as possible has resulted in my father being able to go back to live in his bungalow. Instead of just sitting around doing nothing he was encouraged to walk- with a frame- to the bathroom and dining room. The only negative point I would make which is not a criticism of Crowstone House but care homes, in general, is that there should be better segregation between those people with advanced dementia, from those who still have all their wits about them.

This is a superb home. My 95 year old Nan was fiercely independent, but she loves being at Crowstone. She loves the food, staff, company, outings, views from the veranda ... She has been totally wooed by this lovely 'hotel'!

My mother required respite after breaking her right shoulder in a fall. At the time she was a little confused but the staff at Crowstone soon had her engaging socially with the other residents and quickly restored her confidence, with persuasion and patient assistance she also began to walk confidently with a stick and could also manage to negotiate stairs with help. Crowestone has been a thoroughly enjoyable and uplifting experience for my mother. Thank You.

My father was 96 years of age when he died at the beginning of April 2016. He was in the above care home for two months. As he was falling becoming frail this was the best option for him. He did not have dementia so he had all his faculties. From management, carers, domestics, cooks. My father was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. They catered to all his needs, he was well fed, clean and motivated. Staff went out of their way to make his last two months happy. He had a lovely and clean bedroom. My father told my sister and I that he couldn't be happier there. One of the top carers took ten years off my father by shaving of his long beard and hair, my sister and I were very happy with the standard of care and professionalism. The only criticism is there could be more staff in the afternoons.

Moved my cousin in early December 2015, she was in a poor home before. The care and looking after is lovely, she had her best Christmas in years. She has loads to do and the food is great and the change in her is showing every time I visit.

My father has been a resident at Crowstone House for 8 months. He settled in straight away. The staff are very kind, caring and treat my father with dignity. I visit him most days and always find him happy and well cared for. It is a great relief for me knowing I am leaving him safe, secure and very well cared for.
