Kathryn Court is a comfortable and friendly care home in the heart of Shoeburyness, Essex.

This 52-bed Runwood Homes facility provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia, and has been voted by residents and their families as one of the Top 20 care homes in East England. As well as being part of the 'dementia action alliance', they strive to create a homely environment by providing all the comforts of good food, good company and friendly staff.

Residents frequently take trips out and whilst at home the house is transformed into a hive of activity to ensure that residents remain stimulated and engaged, with their individual hobbies and needs taken into account, including movie matinee with popcorn and snacks, bingo, quizzes, board games and many more.

The atmosphere wraps itself around visitors when entering the foyer and the warm and friendly experience just grows from there. Comfortable lounges, staff interested in all the residents have to do and say and home-cooked meals. All bedrooms are beautifully furnished with en-suite bathrooms and excellent amenities.

There is a dedicated area for dementia care, designed to enable those cared for to maintain their dignity and independence in a safe environment.

My mother has been at Kathryn Court for a few months now and it is like a 'home from home'. All of the staff are friendly and the home is just like a hotel, with flowers in the entry and lots of personal touches as you walk around. My mum has been for quite a few trips and loves the cream teas that
take place.

Our aunt moved into Kathryn Court unsettled. We have noticed recently how well she has settled in. On her 90th birthday in July she has a lovely trip to Old Leigh including fish+chips and ice cream. A tea party in the afternoon supplied by Kathryn Court with decorations. The family attended and she
enjoyed herself. The staff are very kind and attentive. Kathryn Court is always praising the food and she now looks really well. My sisters and I are so pleased that our aunt has gone into Kathryn Court.

Recently her condition has deteriorated and without the care and support provided by the excellent staff here we would not have coped with this new situation. Moved mum to Kathryn Court in December 2015 from another care home that was failing her needs. Kathryn Court is vey local to us and had been recommended by friends. The staff and management coped with a very difficult move for mum in a professional and caring manner, and we have been extremely impressed
with every aspect of the care given and the accommodation provided. In addition they have provided us with a high level of personal and emotional support at a challenging time.

My late Mother was lovingly cared for at Kathryn Court for the last 2.5 years of her life and I have nothing other than praise to write about the home. All the staff, the facilities and management were without exemption of the highest standards. The carers were loving , helpful & despite my Mum's complex
needs always available for her. In my experience the home couldn't be bettered.
