I stayed at Bennett Lodge for respite whilst waiting for my flat. It was good living here, I made friends who I will still be visiting. The staff are very good, they do a great job and I will keep in touch and visit everyone. The home is very clean.
After talking to my husband when he came home, he said he was comfortable in there and staff were very good and felt safe. He didn't do any activities as he does not like it. He was pleased to come home calm and not stressed.
Thank you for your feedback. We're happy to hear that your husband felt settled during his stay. We will pass your words on to the wider team.
Kind regards,
Laura.
Dad first stayed here in September 2022 for a 4-week assignment and even then you could feel the love and care the staff provided, he then was able to stay there permanently. My dad loved it and couldn't praise the staff enough. Also, my siblings and I couldn't ask for more for our dad, he was well cared for. All the staff,(particularly the deputy manager), treated him, like a person and not just a number, they also made us part of it all. The home and rooms are all bright and breezy and clean and tidy. Right to his passing last week, they were there for him. Highly recommend this home-from-home.
Kind regards.
The manager and her team are lovely. You can ask them anything and they do all they can to help put your mind at rest.
It is lovely and clean and always smells nice and fresh.
We as a family are happy because Mum is happy.
Kind regards.
My dad loves living here. He thinks the staff are wonderful. On our visits to him, it's obvious to us that the staff really care. Very clean and comfortable room.
We are delighted to hear that you are satisfied with our care for your dad. I will be sure to pass on your kind words to the team and know they will be pleased to hear it. Thank you again for your comments. Best wishes, Laura.
The staff and carers treated my parents with kindness, respect and dignity. It is a friendly, supportive home with regular activities for the residents, including those restricted to bed. I knew the minute I walked in the door that it was the place for Mum and Dad, having visited other care homes.
We as a family couldn't be happier that mum is in Bennett Lodge. Since being there she has got her zest for life back again. All her needs are more than met. The home really knows what mum likes to teat and mum doesn't have to tell the kitchen staff what she wants for her dinner they already know. As soon as you walk into the home you can sense how happy it is and all the staff are extremely good to the residents and visitors. We are so lucky that mum is there.
Hello, thank you for your insightful review. We take pride in providing our residents with their own voice on how their care is provided, and we are so grateful that you and your mother are satisfied with her care. Have a good day.
Clean, freshly painted, excellent food and superb staff.
Cannot recommend enough.
I have nothing but praise for the staff and for the care home during the difficult time we have had in making the decision that Mum needed to go into residential care. The support and guidance from the staff have been first class while Mum has been settling in. Mum is treated with dignity and respect, both of which are key elements that we value going forward. Being able to have some of her own furniture and belongings has added to the feeling of making it her home and we are grateful for that. Food, facilities and cleanliness are all first class and we know that Mum is being cared for the way we want her to be.
But I cannot praise the staff enough for putting up with our constant calls and questions for looking after my beloved dad and even though he had Covid, keeping us informed at all times.
Amazing staff and myself and my family cannot thank them enough.
The home had arranged for my first indoor visit (in Mum's room) since March 2020.
They were very efficient and carried out my Covid test and took my temperature. After donning PPE, I was able to see my Mum. It was a lovely reunion, and I was so happy to see that Mum's room still looked as nice as always - in fact, it had been repainted. We had an hour together which felt very precious after all the restrictions.
As usual, all the staff I saw that day were polite, helpful and friendly. The care my Mum receives from them is exemplary and they have my heartfelt thanks for everything they do.
Mum seemed happy in the home. Happy with the staff and everything.
Regular updates, videos etc have really helped in these difficult times. I cannot thank them enough.
Mum is well looked after by all the staff in what is a lovely caring environment. A big shout out to the entertainment coordinator - a big asset to your team.
The staff at Bennett Lodge stepped up and provided me and my family with assistance when we were desperate and before using their services. They went above and beyond to help my Granddad which led to him becoming a permanent resident. The staff will frequently tell us stories of what he's been up to, show us photos, and have a chat when needed. The staff are always friendly and welcoming as well as helpful when needed. I'm confident that Granddad is being well looked after and have no complaints about the staff or his care.
My Sister in Law is a resident at Bennett Lodge and she is happy. I have seen first hand the care and kindness shown to her by all members of staff. The bedrooms and public rooms are always clean and sweet-smelling. The dining room is a cheerful place - table cloths and flowers are the most important! Visitors are made to feel welcome and staff makes time to solve any problems. More staff would make life easier for everyone. My relative says living at Bennett Lodge is good! Most important to her family.
Of the three months that my sister has been resident, I found (January to pre-lockdown), that she was very well treated by the care staff. I consider she is looked after with care and compassion. During my visits, there was always a friendly, relaxed atmosphere about the home.
Dad seems very happy being in care, as he was very reluctant to go into care. The staff has helped him settle in. He is well-fed and never complains about the food. His room is clean and tidy and his laundry done. My Dad feels safe, which is what matters to us the most. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Would recommend Bennett Lodge without reserve.
Our overall experience of the home is superb. All the staff are excellent, nothing seems too much trouble. the level of care and compassion is outstanding. All the little things the carers do for our nan really make a difference and they have made her very welcome. She now refers to this as her home and it is a happy one! Many thanks to all the staff and management at Bennett Lodge.
The staff is very helpful when I visit and my relative whom I visit frequently is always happy with the service she receives from her carers. The ensuite room is always clean and my sister is far better cared for than when she was living alone in a flat. I am able to take her out in her wheelchair to the local shops and replenish little treats in her fridge in the room.

It feels so rewarding to know that my work is making a positive impact on their lives. At Bennett Lodge, we’re like one big family, and it’s this sense of community that keeps me motivated.
My greatest achievement has been becoming the housekeeper, and I take pride in ensuring our residents feel comfortable and cared for. A fun fact about me is that I enjoy archery! When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family, going on holidays, and indulging my artistic side through decorating.

My name is Helen Nicholls. I am the Administrator at Bennett's Lodge, and I truly enjoy my job because every day brings something new and different. A fun fact about me: After waiting years to become a grandparent, within just 15 months, I now have 1 grandson and 3 granddaughters. While I don’t have time for hobbies these days, my grandchildren keep me happily busy!

I enjoy my job because every day brings a variety of tasks, keeping things interesting. A fun fact about me is that I drive a 2006 Mercedes. In my free time, I love playing golf, going on holidays, and enjoying a good glass of red wine.

I'm Jill Hunt. I am the Deputy Manager at Bennett Lodge Care Home.
I’m Jill Hunt, Deputy Manager at Bennett Lodge Care Home, where I’ve worked for Runwood Homes for 9 years. What I love most about my job is making a difference in the lives of our residents and ensuring their overall well-being. I’m passionate about getting to know each resident personally, as I believe this is essential for delivering person-centred care.
I’ve earned a Dementia Care Certificate and am a PCS Superuser, and I’m currently working towards completing my NVQ Level 4.
A fun fact about me is that you’ll hear me before you see me! Outside of work, I love going on holiday, listening to music, and spending time with my family.

I’ve been part of the team for three years, and it’s been a truly rewarding journey. I first joined as a carer, supporting residents with their everyday needs, before moving into my current role, where I now have the joy of creating meaningful experiences and activities that bring smiles to those around me.
Outside of work, I love going to the cinema or enjoying a good film at home—it’s one of my favourite ways to relax and recharge.
