Basingfield Court Residential Care Home

Very friendly and caring staff. Not just caring for my mother-in-law, but the whole family. The grounds and home are well cared for and homely. So pleased my mother-in-law was able to take up residence in Basingfield Court. Would recommend it to anyone with a loved one who needs extra care.

We were slightly worried when a new management took over, but we need not have worried because the new manager is lovely and very approachable at any time. The activities offered to the residents are varied as well as fun and the activities coordinator is truly dedicated to the residents and will personally encourage all to join in with the activities each week. My mum's dementia is slowly deteriorating, but all the staff are so lovely and understanding. We couldn’t recommend the home enough to anyone considering it as an option for their loved one.

My mother is extremely happy here. She is cared for, looked after and feels like part of an extended family. She is a very fussy eater, yet the team always find her something that she enjoys and is healthy. Thank you.

We would like to congratulate the new manager and her team for achieving a lovely, positive, relaxed and caring atmosphere for residents, service users, volunteers, visitors and relatives at Basingfield Court Residential Care Home. Everyone is always so cheerful, friendly and obliging and the range and quality of activities available is excellent. We really appreciate the professionalism, kindness and good humour and so, we know, does our 96-year-old mother.

We found this care home for my dad in January 2023 and he fell in love with it straight away. His health hasn't been very good since he came home from Spain last September but since he has been in Basingfield Court Residential Care Home, he's come back to life. You're an amazing care home, friendly warm and inviting and Dad loves the food, gardening and entertainment.

I have been impressed by the homely and friendly atmosphere. The care staff are very 'caring' and treat my friend with great dignity and kindness, gently encouraging her when she is anxious or distressed. It is such an encouragement to see my friend enjoying crafts and social skills via social media. I am grateful to all the staff, it has been a very difficult and distressing time but it is good to see my friend smiling and interacting with others.

My mother has been here for several months. We were able to put some of her personal belongings in her flat before she came and was delighted on arrival. The staff have been kind, caring and attentive and always treat her with respect. She is very happy here - even if she chooses not to socialise, they respect that. It is a huge comfort to her family that she is content and well cared for. Thank you!

My mother passed recently and I wanted to thank Basingfield Court for everything they did to make Mum's last few days comfortable. Everything was done with great dignity and loving care for her. The staff were amazing and a true asset to the care home. They should be recognised for their service not only for my mum but for me and my family in this hard sad time. They were wonderful. Thank you for everything and I would happily recommend the care home to anyone looking for a homely and friendly environment for their parents.

Dad has been at Basingfirld Court since January 2022. The hard work, dedication and excellent care my dad has received have been amazing. The care staff show so much love to Dad and he is always saying how lovely they all are. The dedication of the activities coordinator and her activities with Dad have brought out his creative side and his pictures are all displayed in his room. The door is always open for us to talk to the management team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My mother would find it helpful if the care staff wore name badges. My mother feels the home is well run and the office/staff deal with problems/queries effectively.

I am very happy about the care given to my dad at Basingfield. The staff are very friendly and caring and I know my dad is in safe hands.

My mum is looked after well and is very happy in the home. Once or twice I have had a couple of little concerns but my concerns are always addressed promptly. Overall a very well run happy home.

My father-in-law came in for respite care and he has settled in really well. Nothing is too much for the staff.

Originally I thought this place was perfect. It was clean and tidy and spacious rooms, also friendly staff. After accepting my mother into their care I learned my mum had escaped after one day and was so upset when some personal belongings had gone missing. I decided I had to take her out, still no outcome on this matter, very poor aftercare.

I am so grateful for the care the staff give my dad, especially through the last 2 years, I have always been kept up to date with how Dad is and what is going on in the home.

The team at Basingfields Court go above and beyond to ensure the residents there are well looked after both physically and mentally. My mum has been in the home since April 2021. It has been such a hard time for care staff and residents in Care Homes although you wouldn't know this when you go to Basingfields as the staff are always so upbeat. Every time I have gone to see my mum or have emailed Basingfields the staff there are always super cheerful will bend over backwards to help and work so hard to ensure their residents are having the best life! After living in her previous home for 57 years mum's move to a new home was always going to be quite traumatic. The care and reassurance all the staff at Basingfields provided meant my mum settled really quickly and is thoroughly enjoying life again. I never ever wanted my mum to go into a home, but after seeing what Basingfields offer how very stupid was I to feel like this. I really hope the staff realise how much good they do.

My mother became a resident in October 2020. She says that the carers are very kind, she enjoys the food and says her room is very nice. I have found the staff to be kind, caring and helpful. Obviously visiting is difficult due to COVID, so I have not been inside the home. I have been able to look through the window and see into my mother’s room. It is spacious and I look forward to being able to visit her inside the home at some point. The recently erected pod provides a good environment for visiting in these difficult times.
