Dad has been here since April and is now very settled. He has had a few ups and downs such as the sale of his home but has now settled well. In the families opinion, it was the best decision we had made. The home has been fantastic with him. Very caring staff, we have never seen him smile so much.

I have visited my friend over the past year since he has been at Belmont Castle Care Home. Every time I arrive, the staff are welcoming and make you feel like you are coming into a home...I mean a 'real' home.

Belmont Castle Care Home is a fantastic, fun, friendly and welcoming place and I enjoy

visiting.

The staff are friendly and caring. They keep us informed of our mother's welfare. The care home is very homely and well kept. There are always activities going on to keep residents stimulated. Meals are nutritional and there are always alternatives should residents prefer.

Dad is cared for and treated as a whole person. He laughs, smiles and is clearly content.

The staff always recognise me and my husband and make us feel so welcome. My dad gets prompt medical attention when needed and is encouraged to do as much as he can/wants. The staff know his preferences and

try and accommodate his foibles!! A great team

In spite of his confusion due to dementia, Dad seems to be fairly settled. He is treated well by all the staff and enjoys his meals. The staff are very patient with him and always treat him with respect, as they do all the residents and visitors alike. If I had to choose a home for myself, this is the
one I'd pick.

The staff are all so wonderful which has to be the most important factor of successfully looking after/caring for the residents in a residential environment such as this one.
The building itself and rooms are very appealing and interior decoration is inspirational for the residents and visitors. It
is all kept immaculate and clean all the time.
The activities are very well run which really helps the residents enjoy their daytime and encourages them to mix with each other and stimulates them mentally and physically.

Belmont Castle is a wonderful place for my mum to live. I've not had to worry about her safety or wellbeing since she moved in November 2015.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and seem to care about every resident. Communications with family are good.
The rooms are clean and well organised and
lots of activities are planned for the residents and for extended family such as the brilliant Christmas decorating day and meal and Easter Egg hunt.
I would recommend Belmont Castle to anyone having to make the decision about finding care for loved ones.

My mother has been at Belmont Castle Care Home for almost a year now, and it really is the most amazing care home imaginable. The home itself is clean and comfortable and provides a real home from home environment with exceptionally caring staff - we consider ourselves very fortunate that there was
a vacancy for mum when she needed it. A Halloween Party was recently held, and photos and videos were posted on Facebook for all to see, and everyone was having a fantastic "scary" time! (It is really important to me to be able to see how mum is doing at Belmont because I live in Australia and only get to visit once a year.) This party was not the exception, with events like the summer garden party and regular outings as well, the most recent being a trip to Portsmouth Dockyard and a Mad Hatters Tea Party. Thanks to all the staff and management at Belmont, you are doing a remarkable job! Friends in Australia wish there was a similar facility here for their parents!

Mum has been a resident at Belmont Castle Care Home for 3 months, she wanted to remain independent in her own home as long as possible and the decision to move her into care was a difficult one. Having viewed several homes we felt that Belmont was by far the best. It is clean and homely, the decoration
is carefully thought out and provides a fantastic environment for residents and relatives. However, it is Belmonts staff who are its strong point. Caring and cheerful they are always welcoming and give Belmont a real feeling of warmth and homeliness. They get to know their residents and treat them with genuine affection and respect. They are sensitive to their needs, spending time with them and giving them individual attention. Communication is good and we have been kept up to date with mum's care. Mum is now settled, happy, safe and well cared for which is exactly what we wanted for her. We would thoroughly recommend Belmont Castel Care Home to anyone.

I have no hesitation in recommending Belmont Castle. It is reassuring to know that Mum is happy, safe and well looked after, receiving the best possible attention at all times by very caring staff. Friends and family are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend meetings and events. A lot of thought
goes into everything they do - and it shows. Always a pleasure to visit.

Very good care, an excellent quiet room, newly decorated. Breakfast in room, lunch and main meal good. Evening meal at 5pm - early!
(But realise many residents need care at bed)
A lovely garden, with birds (caged) and a fish pool.
Staff are very patient can seem always to be smiling and cheerful.

My mother took up residence at Belmont Castle two months ago and both myself and my family have been greatly impressed by the quality of care she has received.
Her condition and general wellbeing have improved far beyond my expectations and this is undoubtedly due to the standard of care she receives
from the friendly and efficient staff and their efforts to provide a comfortable safe and stimulating environment.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone worried about the future care of an elderly relative suffering from dementia and I would like to thank the manager and her staff for their enthusiasm and attention to my mother and the peace of mind afforded to my family.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.724)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.724) out of 10 for Belmont Castle Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.799 for Belmont Castle Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (166 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 204 Ratings = 4.799
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belmont Castle Care Home is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
