My husband has been at Arbory Residential Home for two years, I have always found the staff very friendly and caring, from management down. My husband is always well looked after and I would not want him to be in any other care home.

The type of setting is excellent for my mother. The manager is passionate about his work and the care home exhibits the highest standard of compassion where dedicated professionals deserve gratitude and admiration. Dementia has greatly limited my mum's cognitive ability to put her words and vocabulary
in the right sequence. To an untrained ear it is difficult and at times impossible to interpret the metaphors and emotions that she expresses, almost if she no longer has a voice, but at the Arbory her voice is always heard, perhaps not always deciphered, but never overlooked by the dedicated staff that gives my lovely mum the opportunity to make a contribution and enjoy a full and varied timetable. She's very much part of a family which makes her feel safe and secure and makes me feel good too because I know that when I leave her that she is in excellent hands, and also the complications of living abroad and not visiting her regularly gives me a great peace of mind.

Visitors are made very welcoming, treating us like old friends. They are also very attentive and happy with my sister. Sitting in the garden with my sister was wonderful, we were given tea and biscuits.
My sister is so happy here and loves the interaction with everyone. She is very well looked after.
There is so much she can do, plenty of interaction with something going on. She also has plenty of time for her own space. It is a very well run, caring home for her.

My mother has been at Arbory for seven years and looks amazing for her age at 97.
This is all down to the staff and management completed by the technology 'i pod' system which provides access to my mother's health and welfare.

I am very impressed with everything here - all the staff are so hard working and helpful. Visitors of the residents are welcome any time of the day or evening.
There is so much for the residents to enjoy each week in the way of entertainment, singers, musicians and plenty of activities.
A wonderful
place.

I visited my mother at the beginning of April and she was in such a better mood and frame of mind than the last time. I know that this has a lot to do with her dementia but I believe it also has a lot to do with the team of carers on duty. On Saturday it was an amazing team of carers who give so much
to each resident and watching my mother being involved with so much made me feel very happy she is in their care and therefore yours as well. I believe that every one of them is a superhero.

My dad has settled in very well at Arbory Residential Home. It doesn't feel like a care home and is both welcoming and friendly. Every member of staff I have met is lovely and professional. As well as the homely decor, the gardens are also amazing with the fishpond, chickens, and budgies. I am extremely
happy that my dad is there and in good hands. I would have no hesitation in recommending Arbory Residential Home.

My step dad was only in Arbory for 7 weeks and sadly passed away at 94 years of age. Everything in Arbory was fantastic, clean, good food, lovely room, good interaction with staff. The staff were very caring and could not do enough for my step dad and us as a family, nothing was too much trouble. We
could not have wished for a better place for him to end his days.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.379)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.379) out of 10 for Arbory Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.687 for Arbory Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (93 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 131 Ratings = 4.687
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.692 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Arbory Residential Home is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 11 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.917
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
