My Mum has only been at Farehaven Lodge for a short period of time but the care and respect she receives is amazing. The staff appear very caring and knowledgeable about the individual needs of the residents. The manager is striving to make it a home from home and there is a pleasant atmosphere. The
home is also spotlessly clean.

I was tentative about having to choose a care home for my mother who had been lucky enough to have lived independently until she was 94 years of age.
As soon as we walked into Farehaven Lodge I was happy to consider it. It felt very homely and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Mum has settled
very well at Farehaven and to my surprise is joining in the activities during the day and mixing very well with everyone, staff and clients.
It has a calm atmosphere and is always clean. Mum enjoys the food and admits that she is looked after very well. The staff work very hard to please everyone and I feel that she is now secure but still able to mix with other people.

My mum was unwell and the out of hours doctor asked for an ambulance to be called. The senior member of staff who oversaw the whole procedure actually stayed for 2 1/2 hours after her 12 hour shift had finished, just to make sure my mum was OK and that the handover to the ambulance crew went without
a hitch, and that they had all the information they required.

My mother has been a resident at Farehaven for 5-6 weeks. The staff are helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The manager is always on hand to have a chat about any concerns I have had about my mother's care plan.

My mum enjoys the food and is never hungry. Her room is kept clean

and tidy for her. Having 3 lounges is a real bonus. The activities are fun and sociable.

Farehaven Lodge is a very peaceful looking building which was a good first impression on entering the carer that let us in was happy and welcoming the feeling to visitors definitely here. In all the lounges there were carers showing and interest in people and that they were happy in their work. The
manager and senior carers are interested in talking to visitors very welcoming I would certainly recommend.

Our mother moved into the home in Dec 2016. We were of course very hesitant, like most children to make this very important move. We needn't have worried as the management and overall care is excellent. The management and staff are so caring and you can see very clearly that the residents are happy
and well looked after.

Farehaven Lodge provide what we consider as a family to be outstanding care to our family member. Staff genuinely seem to know and care about each individual and we feel that our family member's needs are recognised and met. Communication with us is excellent. We are always kept informed about health
and welfare concerns and staff are very quick to act if they feel something needs doing. Farehaven Lodge have brought us all peace of mind and we feel that our family

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.396)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.396) out of 10 for Cordelia House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.821 for Cordelia House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.821
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.575 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cordelia House Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.875
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
