A warm welcoming nurturing environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect. I cannot praise this home enough and I am always recommending it to friends/family as I enter a few homes in my job and I always say this is where I would like to live if I ever needed 24-hour care. Such a great atmosphere which is down to the amazing staff. The manager is always so friendly which creates great morale for the staff.

My mother is 93, has dementia and sensory loss. She and I visited December 2018. We were impressed with the staff team, quality of facilities, homely atmosphere and the warm interaction during the assessments. Hollybank had no vacancy for a month so she remained in another rest home, less homely, during which time my brother died.

Her first weeks at Hollybank were challenging: continuing bereavement, new surroundings, hospital visits and confusion. Since the end of March, she has been more at peace than at any time in the last two years. She is agile, alert, enjoy activities and moves around freely. Her dementia continues to impact her. Since January, the staff team have been exceptional in treating her with warmth, dignity, engaging with her wicked sense of humour, comforting her when is upset. They have involved us closely in risk assessment, liaising with doctors and adjustment of her care. On my visits, I have seen this same level of care for other residents.

My mother, who is 98 years old, has been going to Holybank Rest home on a daycare for some months now. She has also spent two weeks as a resident earlier in the year. We found she is very comfortable and enjoys the people. She is very happy with the care that is given and the ladies doing the caring are always on hand for anyone when they need assistance. The food and choices of food are very good and the weekly bath she has on Fridays. She loves the attention and activities.

HollyBank Rest Home is how a care home should be. It is comfortable, clean, bright and cheerful.

Hollybank has the most amazing staff, I cannot praise them highly enough. Nothing seems to be any trouble and they are all happy which I think makes a huge difference to care. Each and every single member of staff is caring, helpful, attentive and happy. (we all have bad days but I have yet to see one from any of the staff here!)

A big thank you for being so wonderful.

My Mother needed respite at very short notice after breaking her wrist and becoming quite confused. We as a family are so pleased with the way she has settled into Hollybank. She is like her old self again and has a new lease of life. She has made friends and has a lovely social life. The staff genuinely care about her and regularly contact me with updates on her condition. When we visit we are made to feel so welcome. I would highly recommend Hollybank and cannot put into words the huge relief it has been knowing that she feels safe, secure and happy after what has been a very traumatic time for the whole family. I wouldn't mind moving in there myself!

My sister and I moved our 90-year-old mother to Hollybank a month ago. Our mum has had Alzheimer's for several years and has been in a home for the last four of them. We wanted to move her care home because she had become isolated, did not sleep, had shown signs of aggression towards other residents and was generally unhappy. But we were very frightened that the move to a smaller unfamiliar home would be bad for her. How wrong we were. Everyone at Hollybank has been kind, professional and understanding. Our mum has thrived there in just four weeks. She sleeps through the night, smiles all the time and is eating and drinking regularly. She looks clean and tidy every time we visit her and loves all the music and the garden. The staff at Hollybank really do care, sitting with residents to encourage them to eat and drink, putting an arm around them and making them smile if they need it. It feels like a happy place. In short, it is just like home. The best move we have ever made.

My nan spent her last few months at Hollybank and we feel truly blessed to have found this wonderful home where she was treated with care, compassion and respect. My nan suffered from dementia and had presented with challenging behaviour in a different home.

The staff at Hollybank took my nan in at incredibly short notice and as a result of the compassion she was shown, she really started to turn around. She made some wonderful friends at Hollybank and they were always spoiled for group activities to do together. My only regret is that we didn't find Hollybank sooner and on behalf of the whole family I would like to express our appreciation for everything they have done; we couldn't have hoped for a better place for my nan to spend her final days.

I am absolutely delighted to have found this care home for my mum. All the staff here are very friendly and really do go that extra mile to care for the residents. My mum's quality of life has been greatly enhanced by being here. She is very happy and content and so am I and my brother knowing she is being taken care of. The home is very warm and welcoming and my mum's room is so cosy. Everything is immaculately clean but also retains a very homely atmosphere.

I would certainly recommend this home 100% as being the perfect place for your loved one.

Very caring staff providing a friendly homely atmosphere. The whole accommodation throughout is very clean. There are no nasty smells and the decoration to the rooms and day room etc is excellent. Food from the kitchen is very tasty, nutritious and varied. They have a good range of events planned, and encourage (weather permitting) residents to take an interest in the garden. Very secure accommodation with all alarms, call system etc.

Right from the first enquiry at the home, the staff were helpful and caring. The home is warm and homely, beautifully clean and well appointed. Rooms are bright and welcoming and there is a lovely garden for residents to enjoy in the summer.

The food served is good and varied and residents have plenty of activities to keep them stimulated. We felt the care and happiness of mum was the sole objective of all staff and that her quality of life would improve so the transition was actually easier than we'd imagined.

Upon visiting I was made to feel very welcome by the very friendly staff. Straight away I got a very good feeling about the whole place.
The home is very clean and the activities provided ensure fun is had by all.
The surrounding area is nice and quiet so residents are ensured of peace and quiet at all times.
The Manager and staff were very informative and explained what happens on a daily basis and that there is always adequate staff on at all times to ensure residents receive the best care always.
It’s not often I review places etc but this home deserves a 10/10.

Thank you.
