My mother was moved to Kiln Lodge back in January 2022 and was welcomed with open arms. At such a challenging time for us, the staff at Kiln Lodge showed such empathy and support for us all. The carers and staff are all fantastic and give the utmost care and attention to my mother. From encouraging her to join in with activities and socialise, to sitting in her room with her when she doesn't feel up to it. She especially enjoys when the carers help her with her hair! We are eternally grateful to the team at Kiln Lodge for all they have done and continue to do for my mother and our family.
Thank you so much for your review this means a lot to the team.
Mum has dementia, they are absolutely brilliant with her. She sees hallucinations, and they talk to her. She starts being bossy and they chat quietly to her. She likes to help if she can, they offer serviettes to fold.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. This means a lot to our team.
Amazing staff, patient, kind, comforting, encouraging and caring with the added bonus of being a fun-loving bunch of people within a safe, clean, bright, cheerful environment.
Thank you so much for your review, this means a lot to the team. Luci
We selected this care home for my mother in January 2017 as the staff showed good knowledge of how to care for my mothers physical needs. The new management team are also good at this but go further and ensure that there are numerous a activities to stimulate the residents. In this respect they are excellent. Overall the staff are very kind and patient and understand not only the needs of the residents but also of thier relatives.
Thank you so much for your review this means a lot to our team.
Grandma moved into Kiln Lodge during the first lockdown. Prior to her moving in and right from the very first home visit, which was done by the manager and another member of staff, as a family we cannot fault what they have done for her. Every member of staff we have come in contact with personally or via facetime has always been so lovely with her and so understanding of her needs. The whole team at Kiln Lodge have become her family especially when we weren't allowed to visit due to restrictions. Seeing the bond they have with her and the trust she has with them all puts our minds at ease knowing she is so much happier and very much loved and cared for. We are always kept updated on how she is and she is always dressed smartly. The manager and her team became aware of her triggers very quickly and always do their best to ensure her triggers are kept to a minimum and that she remains happy. I can't thank them enough for the time they spend with her and for allowing us to facetime her. They have made her life so much better and safer.
My mum has been a resident at Kiln Lodge for the past 3 years and has been well cared for during this time. Over lockdown during covid when families were unable to visit, we were kept informed of what was happening. As soon as we were able to visit then we were welcome to visit mum in the garden or through the window. If the weather was too bad then it was back into the home with testing and PPE being worn. The home is always very clean and welcoming with activities taking place for the residents and all of the staff are always friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Kiln Lodge to anybody looking for a place for one of their family.
Thank you so much for your review, your support over the last few years has meant a lot to the team.
My mum has been a resident at Kiln Lodge for over nine months and the staff there have shown both Mum and I a great deal of kindness and patience during the most trying of times of the Covid pandemic. Mum had a few problems initially adapting to her new way of living but has now settled and enjoys the interaction with all members of staff who often stop by her room to have a chat with her. The kitchen staff ask what meals she would like (she is a vegetarian) and really go out of their way to tempt her to enjoy her food. The staff are very professional and answer any queries I have, either in person or on the phone and contact me directly if they have any concerns about her. I feel confident that Mum is being very well looked after.
Thank you very much for your review, I will pass on your review to our team.
I was enrolled for the service without priming regarding the difficulties of other service users. Initially, I was cared for like other users and was not credited with any ability, which I found very difficult. However, once staff understood that I was not suffering from dementia, then things settled down nicely. All "care" became more respectful and I became more comfortable. Services were provided with more excellence thereafter.
Thank you for your review, we were so pleased that you were able to adapt to your surroundings and after the first few days, started to enjoy your rest.
I have found the home extremely capable of dealing with my wife's needs. All her needs are dealt with sympathy and kindness in a manner I would expect to happen in the family home.
Thank you for your feedback, this means a lot to the team.
Very early to lockdown and stop visiting! I think this has been a major factor in the home remaining covid free. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The home is clean, bright and peaceful. My mum is well cared for and seems happy in her own little way.
Thank you very we appreciate all the support and patience with the visitor restrictions.
I cannot find fault with the way my mother has been looked after and the way the staff have looked after myself and the rest of my family. These people are absolute angels, and I can never thank them enough.
Thank you so much for your feedback; it is really appreciated.
This was my 2nd visit since lockdown and I can only thank and praise the management and team for the precautions taken and excellent care provided during the lockdown period keeping everyone safe. We have always been very satisfied with the outstanding care our mum has received over the last 5 years. Being totally incapacitated, all her needs are met in a caring, dignified and respectful way. The home is immaculately clean and excellently managed. The whole team are very friendly and welcoming and make it a pleasure to visit.
Thank you very much for your feedback. This means a lot to us.
Kiln Lodge look after my father so well and whenever we visit, he is always happy and so well presented and smartly dressed. We are so grateful for the quality care and attention all the staff there give him. We couldn’t be any happier with Kiln Lodge. Thanks again to the manager and her team for all they do for my Dad.
Thank you very much for your kind comments. Your dad is a pleasure to care for.
I am very pleased my husband was able to reside permanently at Kiln Lodge. The staff are extremely kind and very accommodating to the resident's needs. I visit regularly, and if there is a problem, I would mention to the manager or a member of staff, and immediately it would be sorted! I am impressed how immaculately clean, and I appreciate he is always given a lovely smooth shave, usually be a male member of staff "correct me if I'm wrong"!
Thank you for your comments, it's an absolute pleasure to support you both.
A very loving and caring environment led by the manager. All of my grandmother's needs were met by all the staff. The palliative care, in particular, was excellent.
The staff are very caring, comforting and reassuring to residents and relatives. Responsive to all their resident's needs, mental and physical and visitors requests and requirements. This includes all the housekeeping staff and cooks. Priority is definitely the wellbeing of all.
The home itself is very comfortable and has been refurbished. It is a nice place to visit and spend time in.
Activities and entertainment are organised for most days.
I am really pleased I found this home for Mum and she has improved in physical health since being here.
Thank you for your kind review.
My mum has been a resident of Kiln Lodge for two and a half years now. It was a very difficult decision at the time and I still find it hard to come to terms with her not being in her own home but I can rest easy in the knowledge that she is getting the best care possible. I have nothing but praise for all the staff (most of whom have been at Kiln Lodge long time) who always treat those in their care with the greatest respect. They will always go the extra step to try and make the residents feel as cared for as possible and will spend time listening to families too. The house is full of light and often full of fun.
My wife was cared for in an excellent manner and looked after very well. Kept clean and tidy, bath and hair washed. She was happy there and content.
Thank you for your kind review.
I find this to be a wonderful home and though I was unable to view the home due to the distance of travel. If I had to choose one myself for mum I would have certainly chosen this one. You are always made to feel welcome and mum has settled well, I cannot thank the staff enough that they have given me the peace mind that mum is being well cared for.
Thank you for your review and your kind words.
The staff are very patient when helping residents manoeuvre around the home, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing, the meals freshly prepared and the rooms spotless.
I am confident that the residents are looked after extremely well and are treated with respect and kindness.
Thank you for your lovely review.
