My Father needed to go into a care home. I visited 5 different ones in the local area and Kiln Lodge stood out to me. Staff were welcoming and put me at ease with the whole process. The building is clean and tidy and has a homely feel to it. My father is now a resident and it was the best decision I made for him. He loves the food and the staff and he says it feels like home.
Thank you for your lovely review, we really appreciate it.
Mum spent 7 years at Kiln Lodge and she was treated with care and respect throughout her stay. The home is immaculate, sunny and warm, the food is good and plentiful. The staff are outstanding - they care for each and every one of the residents, getting to know what they like and taking time to give them each individual attention.
I am so grateful that when the time came for mum to need full-time professional care, Kiln Lodge had a vacancy.
I would recommend Kiln Lodge to anyone looking for a safe, caring placement for their loved one.
Thank you so much for your kind words about our home. Mum was a pleasure to look after and she is sadly missed.
My sister (66) has early onset Alzheimer's disease. I chose this care home on the immediate appeal of the environment, and an excellent care manager feeling that this was the best place for my sister to be encouraged to flourish. I looked at eight other homes near Fareham and this one stood out to me for its excellence. I am always made to feel welcome no matter what time I visit and am updated on any issues. It is spotlessly clean, never has that hideous smell that so many other homes have. The rooms are pleasant and the food is cooked fresh on the premises. Feeding routines have been changed to suit my sister's needs and her vegetarian needs are catered for. Care is exceptional and attentive and tailored to the client. I composed a history of my sister's background which facilitated carers to understand her character and needs which they avidly took on board. I visit once or twice every week (initially daily a year ago in order to settle my sister) and always find the care to be of an exceptional standard.
Kaz, thank you so much for your comments regarding Kiln. Both myself and the staff really appreciate your thoughts.
Overall impression that this is a good nursing home suited to caring for persons with a well-developed ability for managing their dementia, providing they receive specific nursing care such as toileting and in some cases, feeding. I cannot comment residents confined to their beds.
Thank you, J C.
My mother in law had the most excellent care at Kiln Lodge, her end of life care was treated with the utmost care, dignity and respect we as a family cannot thank the staff enough for my mother in laws care and us as a family they were there for us all. Thankyou
Thank you so much for your kind words .. Mum was an absolute pleasure to have here and is missed by all. Sweet dreams...
This is an excellent care home. It really does feel like a home from home. The staff are warm and caring. Both my parents in law moved into Kiln Lodge in the autumn. My father in law was ill and passed away within two months. The care and kindness my mother in law has received are second to none.
Thank you for your review.
The staff at this care home treat every resident with dignity and respect, whilst creating a fun and warm environment for the elderly in their care. I visited many care homes before being lucky enough to find this one. I would not hesitate in recommending this establishment. The home is outstanding and the staff treat every resident like a member of their own family.
My wife has dementia and entered Kiln Lodge in April 2014 from the start the staff were very helpful and caring. My wife was surly and antagonistic at start but the staff soon had her smiling and I was able to take her out for rides in the car. I can state with hand on my heart that Kiln Lodge staff are some of the most caring people I have come across. My wife's welfare was uppermost and she only left due to a deterioration in her mental state.
Mum has been a resident at Kiln Lodge for 18 months now and she has been really well looked after there. She loves the home-cooked meals and very much enjoys her puds and cakes. I am always welcome to visit and I am so impressed with the whole team of staff which is like a big family and so friendly. On occasion when Mum has been unwell they don't hesitate to call nurse/doctor or ambulance as required - I have known other homes reluctant to do this. I would highly recommend this to people needing a safe, comfortable and truly caring home for a loved one.
