Over all time Kiln Lodge has 49 reviews.
The staff are absolutely wonderful-kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They take the time to get to know each resident as an individual, and it shows in the way they look after Mum. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and it gives us great peace of mind knowing she is in such capable and compassionate hands.
There is always a range of stimulating and enriching activities taking place, which keeps residents engaged and uplifted. It's been lovely to see Mum getting involved and enjoying her days.
The home itself is very clean, well-maintained, and has a real "home from home" feel. It's warm, welcoming, and comfortable-exactly what you would hope for in a care setting
Thank you so much for your review this means a lot to us all. Luci
I have found all staff to be welcoming, friendly and helpful. They have coped with my husband's dietary needs well, his quirks and mannerisms with discretion and he seems to enjoy being there at Kiln Lodge. I am delighted always to find staff present in the lounge with residents. The building appears to be well maintained and always clean. It is a pity that residents cannot go down to the garden for safety reasons and that at times the car park seems inadequate. Perhaps in future a remedy will be found.
Thank you so much for your review. We will be looking to open up the second part of the garden in the future with better access.
In her last two months of my wife's life she was in hospital due to having two strokes, on her return from hospital she had lost 10kg in weight. Kiln Lodge staff were determine to ensure my wife got back to her normal weight and back to her dancing again as she always did. She loved all the ladies that were her care's and it was obvious they love her, always, cuddling her ensuring she was always clean and dressed smart, it was her happy place her home.
Kiln Lodge is an amazing place, the caring staff treat residents as their family.
Thank you, she was so dear to us all we will continue to remember her and reflect on all the happy moments, your support and kind words to us mean so much.
The food is good, all home prepared, and the bedrooms, home, and laundry are all clean and well managed. I'm so pleased that I found Kiln Lodge and recommend it with every confidence.
Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased you found us as well. I will share your feedback to the team.
They do their best to include Mum in everything they do when this could be a challenge at times. She loves going to the hairdressers there it makes her feel good being pampered.
Thank you for your feedback it's appreciated by us all. I am pleased that she enjoys the Hairdresser, always nice to have a pamper.
I am so happy with the care that Dad receives at Kiln Lodge. He was very reluctant to attend Daycare sessions but quickly settled in because carers took the time to get to know him. He easily transitioned to full-time care and he is very happy in his room with his own things around him. All the staff are very friendly and kind to Dad. He has spent his life telling us, his girls, to be kind and it is lovely to see him receiving kindness in return. It is great to be able to visit him and to bring his great-grandchildren along sometimes. They are also always made to feel very welcome and they love visiting great grandad in his special house! Many thanks to all the lovely people in Kiln Lodge. You do an amazing job!!
Thank you so much for your feedback, this means a lot to us and we all love to see dad sharing precious memories with his family.
My mum was a resident at Kiln Lodge for the last 18 months. She has recently died but I would like to thank the team for the wonderful care she received there. They took Mum in at very short notice when things at home became too difficult. Although Mum could be quite challenging at times she was always treated with care and compassion. She would join in with activities - cooking, gardening, exercise groups to name only a few. The carers took time to get to know Mum and her ways. They had the skills to know when to retreat and try again later if care was needed so as not to agitate her more than neccessary. Her end-of-life care was outstanding. She was treated with great dignity and respect. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kiln Lodge to anyone, especially for dementia care. Thank you to the manager and team.
Thank you for your review we all appreciate it. Your mum was a pleasure to care for and will be missed by us all.
Thank you so very much for looking after her so well and giving her the opportunity to meet with other people her age and do different things from normal. The staff are just awesome, we are very grateful to you all.
Thank you for taking the time to complete our review, we love having Mum come to us and teaching us to draw and paint.
Could not be happier with the care and support given to my mother. So many activities for her to do as well. Just so thankful to know she is safe and happy and doing so well within a fantastic facility. So grateful to you all, thank you.
Thank you for this review, we are so pleased to be able to support your mum.
Mum was unable to look after herself and needed to be taken care of. When she was first there for a few weeks she didn’t want to leave her room, but with encouragement and the patience of the staff she has come out of her shell and loves joining the residents and taking part in the activities happening in the care home. Kiln Lodge has exceeded our expectations in every way, cannot thank them enough for the way they look after her. I would recommend Kiln Lodge to anyone who is looking for excellent care for a loved one.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are honoured to be able to look after your mum.
Overall good, the staff are always friendly. The response is good when she has not been well. Up to date with flu and covid injections. Try to get her involved in activities but she does not always want to, probably down to her dementia.
Thank you for your review, I will speak to the team and see if there are some different activities for engagement. We would love any suggestions for activities.
Facilities ideal and activities provide simulation and enjoyment with the varied daily routine. Outside gardens are well kept, with seating and again provide enjoyment for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Thank you for your feedback this means a lot to the team.
My grandmother moved into Kiln Lodge at the end of August after a brief stay in hospital. When she arrived at Kiln Lodge she was very frail, not eating much and didn't want to leave her room. After only five weeks she is enjoying coming out of her room and joining in with the activities. She seems to be getting stronger and stronger every day. The most amazing thing is that she is truly happy. The staff have really gone above and beyond, our whole family are very grateful for the amazing care she has received.
Thank you for your review, we are so happy that she has settled and feels happy.
Enjoying the activities, lifestyle and community it has to offer.
The staff are caring and nuturing.
My family could not be happier with the care and love shown to our mum.
Thank you so much for your feedback, I am so happy that you feel Mum is thriving.
My 94-year-old mother was given 28 days notice from a residential home as she required more care than they could provide, subsequently we as a family had to search for an appropriate care home within a preferably close geographical area. Kiln Lodge fitted that profile perfectly. The staff provide excellent holistic care in a professional manner with immense enthusiasm, nothing is too much trouble. They present as a multi-disciplinary team with a varied programme of activities enabling the service users to become involved in the normal activities of daily living. Kiln Lodge facilitates continuity of care in my opinion second to none with it's close links to a local GP practice where paramedics and nurses facilitate the varied medical needs of the service users. The social events are varied and too numerous to mention, providing appropriate stimulus where needed at a level that appears to be well received.
Thank you so much for your feed back means a lot to us as a home.
My mum has dementia but since moving to Kiln Lodge I have seen a great change in her. She is like a different person she is more chatty and outgoing and laughs a lot now. I think it has been hard for her to have to move into a home but Kiln Lodge is like a big family all the staff are all very caring towards her. She loves that she has her hair and nails done every week, she is a bit fussy with her food now but does like a bit of cake and the ice lollies. It is nice to see her joining in with the games and quizzes and I love to see the photos on social media of them all joining in and having fun.
Thank you so much for your review, its lovely to see how happy Mum is.
All food home cooked and a wide selection.
Activities laid on and a beautiful garden to relax in.
Keep up the good work team.
Thank you, your feedback is really appreciated.
Kiln Lodge has gone out of its way to buy things to make my nanny’s life easier with her very poor eyesight.
If my nanny becomes upset or misses me the staff will video call me with Nanny.
We honestly couldn’t have asked for more and this was the best move for nanny. We also love the daily updates and pictures on social media. Thank you to all the team.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments I will share this with the team. Look forward to seeing you for a coffee and cake.
Kiln Lodge has been the best home for my mother-in-law, she is happy and settled. The carers are all genuinely nice and look after the residents as individuals and not just as old people. The food is good, nourishing and plentiful which is my mother-in-law's favourite bit.
Thank you for your feedback. We would love you to join us for lunch one day so you can also share this with your mum-in-law.
The staff have been so kind and respectful to my mother ever since she arrived earlier this year. They have always given us time as a family to discuss matters. Mum has settled well in her new surroundings and we are so grateful for everyone helping to make a very difficult decision a little easier. Thank you for making her Birthday so special and for making us so welcome when we visit.
Thank you very much for your review, I will share this with the team.
