Oak View Care Home is a service set up to give families peace of mind when their loved ones reach a long-term or temporary situation that requires them to enter a residential care facility.

This English Oak-owned home has many pleasing interior features to make people's stay a pleasant one, such as luxury furniture and fabrics, alfresco dining and en-suite bathrooms, whilst also looking out over a private garden, park and recreation ground.

Staff training procedures are in place to make certain that all areas of care are dealt with professionally, including health and safety, medicine administration, food hygiene and infection control, while the team are also skilled in dealing with the challenging behaviour of conditions like dementia, without causing the resident any unnecessary distress.

Staff at Oak View are caring and attentive. Those who have been with the home for a long time almost treat my mother as a family. They have been patient and accommodating and go above and beyond to try and tend to Mum's specific needs and try to maintain a good quality of life for her.

I feel very confident that my husband is receiving the very best care possible at Oak View to help him cope with Alzheimers Disease. All of the staff are so patient and helpful to all of the residents, ensuring a happy, safe, clean and secure home. I particularly value the support given to me by the
managers in securing a place for my husband after he attended Oak View for respite and daycare. Also, for the emotional support as this is a very difficult time for residents and relations alike, when a loved one has to go into permanent care.

Since my partner came to Oak View it has felt like an extension of family we have all been made to feel very welcome. He appeared very settled from the beginning and the care provided is excellent. Staff take the time to make sure his needs and welfare are met. As next of kin I feel I am kept very well
informed of his needs.

My mother initially went to Oak View Residential Care Home under a daycare arrangement then eventually moved in on a permanent basis. The whole procedure was handled very well and my mother was made to feel welcome. The staff are very caring and considerate.

I have always found the staff very friendly and always helpful and respectful of my ageing mother. Although on occasions my mother's room has needed cleaning, it has been given attention to a satisfactory standard. It would be good if the standard of food be improved by having the meals served fresh
and well heated. Often the food has been cold and not very appetising.

My husband has been a lot more content since moving to Oak View.
He has Alzheimer's and Dementia and had to leave his last care home due to issues associated with his illness.
The staff at Oak View are really good and my husband is so much happier.
I visit at different times, but no matter when I
visit, I can tell that he is being cared for always.

My father was in Oak View from January to August after his dementia (Alzheimer's & vascular) advanced to the point we could no longer adequately care for him at home. We couldn't have wished for a better setting for him to spend his final months. From the first day the staff at Oak View made sure he
felt he was 'home'. We were encouraged to come and visit whenever we wished. This was 'home' and so they don't have visiting hours as such.
The staff quickly became family to my dad and subsequently to us. He was safe at Oak View, he was cared for professionally but always in a loving manner. As the dementia changed he went through stages of aggression (at times very severe), however the staff were always positive and flexible in their approach and the level of care never waived. They responded quickly, professionally and ensured his medication was amended accordingly going above and beyond to make sure this was right. Above all Dad was not only cared for here, he was loved.

I feel that I have to update my review since the upgrade to Oak View Residential Care home. Mum has now moved into a downstairs refurbished room which is just perfect for her. The cost is a little more but it is worth it. The new access to the patio and garden makes for a lovely view and somewhere
peaceful and pretty to sit and have a coffee together.
Sometimes the atmosphere is quiet and restful and at other times lively, with singing and even playing ball in the lounge!
The staff have been brilliant during the building work, which must have been very disruptive, but they did all they could to minimise the impact on everyone.
It feels that we can now settle down for a lovely summer in the new environment.

My husband was taken into Oak View after a prolonged stay in hospital. When he arrived he was very distressed and unhappy suffering from dementia. The staff at Oak View have been wonderful, showing him care and support. I cannot praise them highly enough and never leave worrying about whether he is
being cared for. They have made a difficult time bearable for all of our family.

Our Father became a resident of Oak View Residential Care Home in December 2016. The staff have been wonderful and supported the whole family during a difficult and emotional time. Dad has settled well and is benefiting from the specialised dementia care he now needs, which is delivered with compassion,
respect and expertise. As nurses ourselves, we are particularly impressed with the individual care given to each resident. The staff have made every effort to get to know Dad, his likes and dislikes, and we were encouraged to bring in personal belongings to make his room his own. The manager told us at the outset that Oak View is also our home while Dad is there and that is exactly how it feels.

Having to admit my Sister to a home was something I have dreaded since her diagnosis of Dementia but, thanks to the lovely Managerl and her wonderful team, it turned out to be a very positive experience indeed. At Oak View, rather than make the residents fit a regime (like one establishment I have
experienced), they create a person-centred, caring environment. Since the day my Sister walked into Oak View, I not only saw improvements in her well-being and contentment but I have been able to relax and get on with my own life knowing that she is in competent, friendly and trustworthy hands. My wife's been a resident of the care home since November 2011, both she and myself have been very happy with the standard of care received. The staff are friendly, efficient and the home is always clean and tidy. I have never had the feeling that my wife is uncomfortable and she always seems to enjoy
