Luckily we were recommended whiteoaks by one of the staff who I know and for the most the care home was brilliant but things changed over the last few months, quite a few staff left and didn't feel as those spaces got filled. And it was quite obvious the lovely carers were under pressure with not enough of them to do the job they wanted to without rushing about. The quality of the food seemed like costs were being cut and on one occasion we had a newsletter saying they were bringing in a tray charge for residents that wanted their lunch/tea in their room. Thankfully this didn't last and thought it was very greedy for extra money.

Would I recommend Whiteoaks? Yes the staff were lovely and couldn't fault the way they tried to help my dad but personally wouldn't go back to a private care home.

Following several weeks of hospitalisation, it soon became apparent that mum, who was now 90, would not be able to return to her much loved home.

We faced the dilema of having to find a rest home that could provide the physical care and emotional support, essential for her ongoing well-being.

It was important to us that she experience the family-like, love and attention that she received at home.

To our delight we were introduced to WhiteOaks. As soon as we were welcomed into the premises, we had a good feeling about it. The staff were warm and friendly and instilled a peace of mind that mum would be kept safe, well cared for and above all, happy.

During this time it has been aparent that their priority is first and foremost to their residents. They are always attentive to mum's needs, and the kindness they have shown has been above and beyond our expectations, for which we will always be grateful.

A big thank you from the family to all the managent and staff for all you do.

My mother is a very independent lady who wasn't relishing the idea of going into a care home. After looking around at several we selected Whiteoaks, as first impressions were very reassuring. Now 9 months later it is a good opportunity to review the situation and the service standards promised. I can honestly say '1st class' and in many respects have even exceeded my expectations. It is always most welcoming, the staff are very friendly and Mum feels safe, referring to this as her home. For me it's peace of mind and they keep in touch.

Having worked in the care sector previously. I can say from the heart that Whiteoaks delivers the utmost quality of care. It is a home-from-home environment, with a warm and homely feel with all staff making you feel welcome, the residents are always friendly and chatty. They have shown my Nan dignity, respect, care, compassion, communication and above of love. They have helped maintain her independence, helped gain her confidence and mobility. They are always there to help, no matter what her need is, with a smile.

The communication throughout the home is superb, the activities are wonderful and bingo is her favourite! My nan thoroughly enjoys the range of meals, we are always offered refreshments when we visit too! If you’re looking for a caring, safe home for your loved one. Whiteoaks is the place to be.

The service that Whiteoaks Care Home provides is well beyond all expectations. From personal needs, to diet needs and everything in between, nothing is too much trouble for the team at Whiteoaks.
My mother was sceptical of moving into a care environment as was I, having heard secondhand stories of the care sector. Whiteoaks has gone out of its way to prove that it is without a doubt one of the best care settings in its field.

Well done to the manager and her team, we are always assured that Mum is well looked after at all times.

I have to say that this Christmas I was moved by the performance that the staff put on for all of the residents.
I was there for a cuppa with Mum and was able to enjoy the Nativity costumes and all the staff having fun while singing for us all.
It's a hard thing to let family go to care, but know that Mum feels at home now and has built nice relationships with other residents and staff.
It is clear to see that this is not just a job for most of the staff and they genuinely care for the residents.

Thank you.

Whiteoaks Rest Home has a warm, inviting and friendly atmosphere. A team of conscientious carers add an extra level of care to ensure the residents are happy and safe, they always take time to talk to the residents whilst delivering one-to-one care. The quality of the food is proof in the pudding, giving them a healthy diet of superb, delicious and balanced meals. Mum's never been so healthy and always enjoys her meals. Housekeeping, always clean, bright and fresh. Mum's room looks cosy and homely, surrounded by her favourite personal things, photos etc. The management are more than approachable, kind, compassionate and understanding. It's always a pleasure to talk with them especially if I have any concerns with Mum. Everything is listened to and I come away feeling reassured. Mum's well-being and happiness has tripled and I truly believe it's due to the devotion, friendliness and care from the staff and friends she has made in Whiteoaks. Activities and celebrations of sorts happen throughout the year, such a delight for residents and their families. We wouldn't want Mum anywhere else. Thank you.

I visit my nan at Whiteoaks very regularly, she has been a resident there for almost three years now. At first, she was reluctant to settle in but she calls it her home now. I can say she's absolutely thriving there, joining in with activities almost every day, enjoying chatting with the other residents and walking in their beautiful garden on warm summer days. She says the staff are brilliant and would do anything to make the residents feel at home. It is such a joy to visit my nan.
